Plan It Green
by Jesse [ Thursday, 23rd of April 2009 - 05:14 AM ]
In this day and age, green is the new black. Everywhere people are trying to be more eco-conscious about the way they live and do business (or so they say). Nevertheless, Merscom and National Geographic have teamed up to bring us a game that is all about playing nice with Mother Nature. In “Plan it Green”, gamers will have the chance to play as the mayor of the fictional city of Greenville. Your task will be to change the dreary cityscape and restore Greenville’s once lush beauty. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 22nd of April 2009 - 03:55 PM ]
Looks like there's a new Fallout on the horizon, but this time it's taking place in good old Lady Luck Las Vegas. That's right at a press event in London, Bethesda Softworks said that Obsidian (known for KotORII, Neverwinter Nights 2 add-ons Storm of Zehir and Mask of the Betrayer) will be developing the new Fallout title. Seems that Chris Avellone will be the lead game designer on this project. You may know his works from KotOR II or Planescape : Torment. Read More...

French Please?
by Binh Nguyen [ Saturday, 4th of April 2009 - 10:43 AM ]
So how would you like to play a game that speaks only French? Imagine seeing “Qu’est-ce que tu fais ici, vous stupid idiot!” (What the hell are you doing here you stupid idiot, and you thought reading this you wouldn’t learn anything) Well in Quebec you can. You heard that right, according to the Toronto Star, as of April 1st (and no this is not April fool joke…) Quebec passed a law to prohibit sales of new English-only video in Quebec if a French version is available. Because of this law retailers and gamers will have to wait for new releases to come to Quebec due to developers having to spend extra time to make the games French only. “I’m afraid it’s going to cost me my business” said Ronnie Rondeau, co-owner of Game Buzz around Montreal, “If it really was going to make a difference, I’d be for it, but only a small number of people want to play in French. by Kevin [ Monday, 30th of March 2009 - 07:09 PM ]
R.U.S.E. Exclusive Trailer (via gamespot) I don’t care if they are trying to present what the game’s premise is. What I want.. is a tabletop game that actually plays LIKE THIS. In any event, it is an upcoming RTS video game developed by Eugen Systems and published by Ubisoft (scheduled to be released in 2009 for the 360, PS3, and PC.  It's a strategy game involving the players to use decoys to trick their enemies into traps. The release from the community site says, "R. Ratchet and Clank Return to PS3
by Jesse [ Thursday, 26th of March 2009 - 10:58 PM ]
“The Quest Continues in Fall 2009…” This was the phrase that teased a coming sequel following the end of Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty. Today we know exactly what those words mean. Okay so maybe we don’t know exactly, but at least there’s a title. Insomniac Games unveiled the logo for their upcoming R&C title Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time. Though there aren’t any details at this time, I’d say it’s safe to assume we’ll see A Crack in Time tie in with the previous two R&C games. One interesting point though is that the title logo looks to be cut from a larger image. Read More...

Go Utah??
by Binh Nguyen [ Thursday, 26th of March 2009 - 11:34 AM ]
Well it seems Utah is not as conservative after all. Utah Governor Jon Huntsman (r) has vetoes video games and movie retail restriction bill. To those who don’t know about it, it’s the bill (that was originally written by Jack Thompson and legislator Mike Morle) that would enforce strict penalties on retailers who sells M-Rated games and Rated R movies to “buyers subject to an age restriction or recommendation.”   Utah Governor Jon Huntsman (r) wrote a letter to House Speaker David Clark and Utah Senate President Michael Waddoups about why he vetoed the video game bill: (from Sainless: http://saintless.com/2009/03/25/gov-vetoed-hb-353/)“Dear Speaker Clark and President Waddoups: After careful consideration and study, I have decided to veto HB 353, TRUTH IN ADVERTISING ACT AMENDMENTS, and have transmitted it to the Lieutenant Governor for filing. by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 24th of March 2009 - 10:47 PM ]
Telltale Games has a formula for success and this time they have added a British compound to their already stellar lineup of point-and-click, episodic games (Sam&Max, Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People).  Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Adventures begins its four episode run today with “Fright of the Bumblebees.”  Wallace and Gromit are the main characters of a British animated series developed by Nick Price of Aardman Animations.  Using stop-motion clay animation, the series depicts Wallace, an absent-minded inventor, and his silent, faithful companion Gromit. Save the Date
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 23rd of March 2009 - 06:13 PM ]
VGXPO Tickets On Sale Now Who doesn't like to save a buck given the state of the economy right now? Am I right? It has been dwindling a lot of gamers resources to make it to huge gaming events or conventions just in general. CES wasn't as big as it usually is, and I'm sure that this will kind of be the case all conventions over. But that isn't what I am going to drawl on about here. No. Read More...

Four Decades Of Evil
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of March 2009 - 09:45 PM ]
Resident Evil Retrospective Episode 6 Just in time for the North American launch of the game comes the final part to the recap of the franchise that Game Trailers put on for us all. Leaving us with, in my opinion, one of the best recaps of a franchise I've seen in a while. Biases aside from the franchise, this 22 minute clip covers damn near everything that has ever gone on in the franchise. This whole final recap is a history, in order of events, from all of the main games and story of Resident Evil. Leading all the way back to 1966 when the founders of Umbrella found the Progenitor virus to do basics tests. Read More...

The Chronicle Continues
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of March 2009 - 04:04 PM ]
Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Announced With the 5th installment of the franchise mere hours away from the mass populace, it should really be no shock that Capcom is going to try and keep the Resident Evil steam roller going by announcing not one, not two, but three new games they plan to bring out to market before the end of the year. Looks like they want to make 2009 year of Umbrella. If only all three were actually original games. Read More...
