Today it was announced that Zachary Levi will be hosting the 2011 Video Game Awards on Spike TV. Before you click away from this article and roll your eyes, let's take a look at the VGAs and this press release in particular before you pre-judge the fledgling award show. Well I think we all saw this coming. Mass Effect 3 revealed its debut trailer at the Spike TV VGA show this weekend. This was by far one of the most anticipated announcements for the VGA's, with BioWare running a Facebook and Twitter campaign leading up to its debut. Mass Effect 3 is slated for a holiday 2011 release, but as we all know that can change. This is the final chapter in the Mass Effect trilogy, focusing on Commander Shepard and his battle against the Reapers, except this time they've decided to hit home and invade planet Earth! Well it looks like BioWare is at it again. According to a recent commercial spot for the Spike TV VGA's on Dec 11th, BioWare will be announcing their next big thing. What is it? A few weeks ago Spike TV posed this question to God of War fans all over North America with a casting call for their show God of War: The Last Titan Standing. A show that was designed to place true God of War fans into the action of the game by recreating some challenges Kratos endured in his epic story. On top of the challenges, this enabled these lucky individuals to be amongst the first in the world - sans media and the developers - to actually play God of War III. On December 12th of ’09, Spike TV held their 7th annual Video Games Award. The Nominees were in, the ballets were turned in and it was time to find out who won. We could go through every award, but we all know we just want to know who won the 2009 Game of the Year. Well the Nominees for Game of the Year were Assassin’s Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
