Visceral Games Is Full Of Heretics And Baby Killers
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 10th of November 2009 - 06:32 PM ]
I have been called some bad things in the past, as recent as nine minutes ago. I've received hate letters based on my thoughts and opinions all the time. So it should probably go without saying that the people over at Visceral Games and the inferno team at EA get hit with this just about at often because of Dante's Inferno. Christians are probably going even crazier knowing they have been used for promotions as much as Rick Astley has been on the internet for jokes. But I digress. Read More...

Review: Torchlight
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 6th of November 2009 - 04:30 PM ]
There are times in any gamer’s life when you find yourself blearily looking for a clock, attempting to adjust your eyes to read the time. You find yourself trying to comprehend how the time reported is much later than the internal clock in your head. How much time have you lost? Minutes? Hours? If Runic Games is using that time as a measure of success of their recently released Action-RPG Torchlight, there must be a party in Washington every night! The story begins in the small mining village of Torchlight. Ember, a mineral of extraordinary power (and possible corruption) was found in a nearby mine. Read More...

Review: Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 4th of November 2009 - 01:59 PM ]
Ratchet and Clank has enjoyed a really good run these past 7 years, and A Crack in Time is a great cap to the "future" series. In what may be the final game in the series, Ratchet must rescue Clank from Dr. Nefarious (the villain from Up Your Arsenal, the third game in the series). Before we get in to deep, let's get a quick glance back at the Future trilogy thus far. In Tools of Destruction, an evil tyrant named Tachyon set out to revenge against the Lombax's for destroying his race. This is the first hint we get that Ratchet isn't the last Lombax in the galaxy. Review: DJ Hero (aka Last Night a DJ Hero Saved My Life)
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 3rd of November 2009 - 02:34 AM ]
Reinventing the Vinyl WheelYour palms sweat heavily as you approach the stage. There's a twitch, a solitary twinge of excitement racing through your veins and ready to explode from the tips of your fingers onto the vinyl that awaits you. The lights flicker and flash and the crowd roars as you make your entrance. You deftly weave between songs and paradoxical rhythmic patterns, cross-fading between sultry sirens and heard edged break beats. You match the intensity of the crowd with every pull of the record, every scratch rivaled by their increased volume. Read More...

Dragon Age Journey's A 2D Adventure
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 16th of October 2009 - 05:07 PM ]
As if there hasn't been enough stuff popped out from the beast that is Dragon Age: Origins. First we get the character builder, then we get the social networking site. The game isn't available until the beginning of next month but BioWare is already working on a 2D project slated for sometime in October to wet our appetites. Blood, monsters, and character sheets, all in classic 2D! Dragon Age Journeys: Deep Roads is being created by EA2D, a new studio out of the EA franchise that specializes in flash based games. Torchlight Picking Up Steam For Day One
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 14th of October 2009 - 09:08 PM ]
Yesterday Runic Games announced that Torchlight will be available day one on Steam. Making a big splash at E3 and then at PAX, Torchlight has been winning hearts and minds with its intuitive and fun playstyle. We here at AggroGamer have been big fans from the beginning, and the announcement of a day one addition to Steam seals the deal. Bottom line, this is a great move for the folks over at Runic. Steam is a fantastic platform for distribution. Read More...

Dante's Inferno Is Making Me Angry
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of October 2009 - 08:33 PM ]
Ok, well not really. It just gets me all warm and fuzzy inside waiting for this game to actually come out. One way the Dante's Inferno Team is doing this is placing out high end developer's diaries. Nothing new as we have been posting them here for you to enjoy and take in. But, damn it, it just needed stating. This month is the month of Anger for the team and video. The below clip show cases a bit of the weapons, melee and magic, that Dante will use as he travels down through the circles of Hell. Read More...

Last But Not Least, PSN Content Now On Amazon.com
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 7th of October 2009 - 10:01 PM ]
Nintendo did it, Microsoft did it, now Sony has joined the ranks of content distributors via Amazon.com. Yes that's right, now you can head online to your friendly neighborhood Amazon.com and download anything from Sackboy costumes to full blown PSPGo Games. No longer will you suffer the oppression of sales tax, some locations not so lucky. I'm looking at you New York. I have just recently become addicted to the powers of the seductive Amazon, and have currently bought a metric-fuck-ton of books/equipment/bowling shoes, but now it looks like PSN titles and PSPGo titles will be added to my list. Review: Dead Space Extraction
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of October 2009 - 07:42 PM ]
It all started just a little under a year ago. The exploration of terror in space in a nice little title called Dead Space. A game that I reviewed as my game of the year last year. A game that I deemed brought back those feelings of the first time you cracked open Resident Evil on the PlayStation. Just like RE you were left with loads of questions and left wanting more. Now along comes Dead Space: Extraction. Dead Space: Extraction lets players roll through all the events that lead up to Isaac and crew rolling through the USG Ishimura in fear of getting back off with their lives physically and mentally stable. OnLive Will Live
by Kevin [ Thursday, 1st of October 2009 - 04:40 PM ]
With the beta testing of this game-on-demand service launching not too long ago, it seems that OnLive has picked up even more steam and, perhaps, more ammunition against naysayers. Investors have gathered around the service and now include: AT&T Media Holdings, Lauder Partners and Maverick Capitol. These investors joined the ranks of other such partners as Warner Bros., who believe there may be a future in this. Yesterday a release from the CEO, via the official site, sounded as enthusiastic as ever: "Big news today — OnLive has closed a major round of funding with participation from AT&T Media Holdings, Inc. Extracting More Images Of Fear
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 29th of September 2009 - 02:20 PM ]
Dead Space: Extraction comes out this week on the Wii. This Tuesday to be exact. On a system that the core game was never on, only rumored about being on. But at least it is on a system that is made perfectly for a rail-shooter style of game. As the Resident Evil franchise has shown in the past and in the not too far off future. But that is not to say that the visuals are not going to be geared up to shock and instill horror in the minds of its players. In fact, here are a bunch of shots from the game and concepts to prove that point. Read More...

PSPGo Games For Free
by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 25th of September 2009 - 05:44 PM ]
The PSPGo is getting closer to its release date on October 1st. For those who will be getting one on that day and already have a PSP, you are probably wondering, "What can I do with these UMDs?" How about you use one UMD to get three free games for the PSPGo? How you may ask? I'm glad you asked. On top of the PSPGo having a new, sleek, slimline look it has a built-in 16GB storage space for your favorite games, photos, music wherever you go. Sony plans to get those PSPGo collection started by giving away three full games for free. The PSPGo Reward will allow you to download three titles like: Killzone: Liberation SOCOM: U. Read More...

Torchlight - The Vanquisher Trailer
by Brian Bentley [ Saturday, 19th of September 2009 - 06:29 AM ]
Runic Games and their publishing partner, Perfect World Entertainment, released a trailer this week demonstrating the power and grace of the third and final class, The Vanquisher. For those of you that have followed Aggrogamer since E3, we've been big fans of Torchlight and I believe this trailer is a great example of what this title can bring you. This woman is part soldier, part ninja and all explosive. Mainly a ranged weapons user, she can fire on one target, use a spread to hit many or use the environment, bouncing off walls or going around corners. Read More...

Hell Or Rapture?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 18th of September 2009 - 04:48 PM ]
Damn you 2K and EA! Damn you both to Tartarus! Jokingly that is. But you both have made my February and thus Valentines Day/Desperation Day much more stressful than I was hoping for. Hopefully the little lady will understand why I am glued to my PS3 and PC. First Dante's Inferno and now BioShock 2 on 2/9/10. That's right. Just announced, BioShock 2 will be out simultaneously on all three platforms on the ninth day of February in our Lords 2010th year. Read More...
