E3 2010 Impression: Nintendo 3DS
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 20th of June 2010 - 10:05 PM ]
Since the first announcement of the Nintendo DS back in 2004 and the many versions that have followed, hearing of a new iteration has many asking: do we really need another DS? In  this case, yes we do. At their press conference, Nintendo showcased for the first time their latest new portable device - the Nintendo 3DS. The Nintendo 3DS is a device that can show 3D effects without the need for any special glasses. Wednesday morning I beelined right into the Nintendo booth to get some hands-on with the new device. E3 2010 Hands-On: Naughty Bear
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 19th of June 2010 - 09:01 PM ]
There is no doubt in anyone's mind that I am extremely excited to play Naughty Bear. Partially to see how many other rules from the book How To Be More Like Hades™ are in the game. Also partially because it looks like it will be a laugh riot to force teddy bears to do unspeakable things to each other. Well at E3 I was able to catch up to 505 Games and take a look at how Naughty Bear's game has progressed, since it does come out in a few weeks. The quick version, it is exactly the game I thought it was going to be and it will be amazing. Read More…

E3 2010 Hands-On: Rock Band 3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 19th of June 2010 - 04:53 AM ]
This year at E3 had us taking a sneak peek at what was coming to Rock Band 3, including 22 of the promised 80+ songs set planned to be released. We also finally got to see what the new controllers from MadCatz and Fender will look like. But at E3 2010, they had so much more to show, as you hopefully read from Brian's, Binh's and my twitter accounts. If you haven't, or just really want to know what our thoughts are for it, let me break it down DJ Lance Rock style. First, they have completely redesigned the HUD/GUI for the game. Read More…

First off if you haven't seen the 'Hope' cinematic yet, I highly advise that you do. After that I'm going to tell you and show you a little more about some inner workings of the game. Go ahead and watch...I'll wait. Read More…

E3: TRON Evolution - Welcome to the Grid
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 18th of June 2010 - 12:52 AM ]
Lightcycles. I get excited just hearing the word. One of the most anticipated movies of 2010, TRON: Legacy, is getting it's own video game (of course). Brought to us by Disney Interactive and developed by Propoganda Games (Turok), TRON: Evolution is tied in closely to the movie and it's storyline, even using the same company that provides the film's CG animations to create the awesome trailer below. We're going to get it all, Lightcycles, disc-based combat, parkour, and some great visual effects. Coming to XBox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 and scheduled for release this Holiday 2010, just in time for TRON: Legacy to start appearing in theaters. Read More…

E3 2010 Hands-On: Dance Central
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 17th of June 2010 - 12:49 AM ]
From the moment you step in front of Dance Central to the moment you take your first steps, any intimidation or fear or even two left feet get washed away.  Harmonix – makers of Rock Band (don’t worry if you haven’t heard of it) – are releasing a Microsoft Kinect launch title that will literally help you take your first steps into the world of dance.Seeing this title in action during the Microsoft Press Conference, Dance Central was easily the Kinect title that would drive the Kinect forward.  Stepping up to the screen and using Kinect was a relatively simple process and the Dance Central interface is simple and intuitive. Dreamcast Coming to PSN and Xbox Live Arcade
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 16th of June 2010 - 05:56 PM ]
The Dreamcast is making a comeback and this time it's not in console form. Sega's last console attempt is getting ready to release two of it's popular titles: Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventures on the PlayStation Network and XBox Live Arcade this fall. The titles will get the usual treatment and advantages for being on PSN and XBLA, so expect Achievements/Trophies and much better HD visuals. Sega is planning on porting more titles in the coming months in conjunction with the 11th anniversary of Dreamcast's launch (has it been that long?). Read More…

E3 2010: Stock full of Trailers
by Binh Nguyen [ Wednesday, 16th of June 2010 - 03:39 PM ]
So apparently, waiting was not on the agenda in the days prior to E3 opening.  What I mean by that is just the other day on Spike TV - they had their pre-E3 show where they showed a lot of the new trailers that previously, we would have had to wait until the actual show to see these trailers. But since we all live on the Internet, instant gratification is all we have time for anymore. So here you guys go with bunch of trailers of Socom 4, Killzone 3, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, Dead Space 2, Devils Third, Gran Turismo 5 and Shank. Hope you all enjoy. Read More…

Zurg Invasion of Toy Story 3 Video Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 16th of June 2010 - 12:56 PM ]
No, I'm not talking the Zerg from Starcraft. They spell their name with an 'u' and not an 'e'. Not to mention they are a lot less "emperor"y. So if you are still thinking that, then you need to re-watch the films or the below video clip. A clip that shows how you will be able to play Buzz's archenemy in the PS3 version of Toy Story 3: The Video Game. It is no surprise, since it was announced a while ago, that Zurg will be playable in the PS3 version of Toy Story 3. But what was not fully touched on was how playable he is. Read More…

by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 16th of June 2010 - 06:24 AM ]
The Cylons are coming to invade your web browser. Bigpoint, a developer of web browser games, are currently working with NBC Universal and SyFy to bring this new MMO to browsers everywhere - just in time for E3.  Not too long ago we heard that Bigpoint had just picked up the rights to build a Battlestar Galactica MMO, and now we have our first look. Below is only a teaser trailer, so it's hard to tell if we are watching some game play video or in-browser cinematic.  Either way, it looks pretty snazzy. Read More…

Review: Green Day Rock Band
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 15th of June 2010 - 01:17 PM ]
Green Day Rock Band is a steady mixture of what you love from Harmonix – play style that is both easy to jump into and addictive  – and what you hate about Activision’s Guitar Hero franchise – it feels repetitive and old.  With Rock Band 2 a couple years past and Rock Band 3 on the way, it raises the question of how annual they expect to make the franchise and still get people to pay for it. This title is the spiritual successor to the infinitely popular The Beatles Rock Band released last year.  That release was a great boon and innovation for the folks at Harmonix. Read More…
