This Week In Gaming 5/12/14 — 5/16/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of May 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming. It is time to wrap yet another week of gaming news and there has been some great and fun news to lead into the weeks of silence before E3. Soon we will have nothing more than a few little tidbits to speculate on or hope for until we get full announcements and details. I'm sure we will most likely see 'leaked' information come out that will come to pass like the Halo 5: Guardians announcement but to keep things fun until June I hope they stay few. None the less we have had some cool new stuff for Dragon Age: Inquisition and Watch_Dogs come out to hype us all up for our future gaming needs. Read More...

Finally We Can Get Dis-Kinected From The Xbox One
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 13th of May 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Microsoft has just announced a new Xbox One bundle that removes the Kinect and lowers the price greatly. Finally after months of the not-so-die-hard Xbox fans complaining about having to purchase the Kinect in their Xbox One bundle, it is being removed. That's right. Starting June 9th there will be an Xbox One bundle that doesn't have the Kinect packaged in which will bring the overall price down to match that of the launch day PS4. That would be $399 plus tax here in the states. Of course the option to purchase a Kinect to "upgrade" to the "best experience ever" will still be an option just no longer required. Read More...

Review: Wreckateer
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 31st of July 2012 - 11:03 PM ]
I first got the chance to play Wreckateer at PAX East this year (Back in April) where Iron Galaxy Studios (the developer of the game) were holding a contest. The person who got the highest score on a certain level would win an Xbox 360 bundled with a Kinect. It just so happens that yours truly got the highest score for the weekend and got himself $500 or so worth of merchandise. Now, this does not mean I'm bought out, or have a bias towards this game or its development team. It just means I owe them a review (not really, but I feel obligated to do so) Alright, well let's start off with the game play. Read More...

New Halo Anniversary Trailer Says What's Old is New
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 19th of October 2011 - 02:07 PM ]
A new "BTS" or "Behind The Scenes" trailer has been released for the upcoming Halo: Anniversary. The trailer shows off a lot of new stuff such as Skulls in Campaign, as well as Kinect and 3D support. I was previously on the fence for getting Halo: Anniversary, but after watching this trailer, I can honestly say I'm 100% sold on this. The aforementioned were not the only improvements, now there is easier navigation through the Library. Many of you perhaps remember - as I did - getting lost hundreds of times while the flood eats your face. Read More...

Dance Central Track List Revealed
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 14th of October 2010 - 04:34 PM ]
Since this year's E3, there has only really been one launch title for the Microsoft Kinect that I've had even the most remote interest in: Dance Central. Today, Harmonix released the complete track listing for the game and although the 32 tracks seems a bit light - after being accustomed to receiving 85 tracks on a Rock Band disc - I will say the Harmonix team did an excellent job in the selection department. Sure it has the stereotypical DDR-like songs ("Funky Town", "Brick House", "Jungle Boogie"), but when you look a little bit deeper, I think you'll agree there is more than a few songs where you're beginning to hear the beat in your head and a smile is creeping onto your face. I only know since it just happened to me as I saw Bell Biv DeVoe's “Poison”, Salt-N-Pepa's “Push It” and Wreckx-n-Effect's “Rump Shaker”. Read More...

Your continued re-acclamation to the AggroCast resumes with Episode 76. Mike is back and better than ever, bringing serious gaming mojo to the returning E3 heroes, Brian and Binh. Okay, perhaps heroes is a bit strong, but the team is getting back into the swing of things. A quick recap of E3 has Mike jealous that Brian and Binh were able to attend the show. This week's Bargain Bin is from the Halo Universe. On the DL travels into the land of Final Fantasy. Read More...

More Songs Revealed For Dance Central
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 17th of August 2010 - 04:43 PM ]
Today more songs were revealed for Harmonix's Dance Central at Gamescom 2010. Currently one of the only games worth purchasing Microsoft's Kinect, Dance Central combines music, fun and dancing to create an experience unlike any other. I know that phrase is used an awful lot in this industry, but after experiencing it for myself at E3, I can definitively say I will purchase a XBox 360 and a Kinect specifically for this title. With today's announcement, the song list increases to 20. With only 30+ songs promised on the disc, you may be concerned about the depth of the roster, but with a list that now includes Rihanna's "Pon de Replay" and Technotronic's "Pump Up the Jam", I don't think you have too much to worry about. E3 2010 Hands-On: Dance Central
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 17th of June 2010 - 12:49 AM ]
From the moment you step in front of Dance Central to the moment you take your first steps, any intimidation or fear or even two left feet get washed away.  Harmonix – makers of Rock Band (don’t worry if you haven’t heard of it) – are releasing a Microsoft Kinect launch title that will literally help you take your first steps into the world of dance.Seeing this title in action during the Microsoft Press Conference, Dance Central was easily the Kinect title that would drive the Kinect forward.  Stepping up to the screen and using Kinect was a relatively simple process and the Dance Central interface is simple and intuitive.
