E3 Hands On Impressions of Muramasa: The Demon Blade
by Michael Camacho [ Thursday, 4th of June 2009 - 06:27 PM ]
I finally got my hands on Muramasa: The Demon Blade for the Nintendo Wii. It was developed by Vanilla Ware, the studio that did Odin Sphere on the PS2, and localized by Ignition Software. The game is beautifully animated and the amount of detail really shines, which showcases the amount of work that went into it. Presented in a 2D side scrolling format, the backgrounds and characters pop out at you. You have two playable characters, Kisuke (male) and Momohime (female), with whom you control using the Wiimote and Nunchuk. Read More…

E3 Impressions: Blur
by Ben Brody [ Thursday, 4th of June 2009 - 04:42 PM ]
Have you ever played Project Gotham Racing and thought to yourself, this would be awesome if I could get powerups and kill the other cars. Well so did Bizarre Creations and that's why they created Blur.I got a closed door meeting with Bizarre Creations' newest racing title, Blur. Incorporating real cars and locations with arcade power ups, Blur does just that, blurs the line between Project Gotham Racing's realistic physics with Mario Kart's arcade style powerups, Blur is an all new kind of racer. I got to play two tracks, a simple oval style racetrack laden with powerups and wide roadways, and a more urban track (Hackney area of England) with twisty turns and narrow avenues.Several car manufacturers, including Ford, GM, Renault, BMW, and Koeniggsegg (sp) all made appearances and we got assurance from Bizarre Creations's that there would be many more cars added. E3 Impressions - The Beatles: Rock Band
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 4th of June 2009 - 03:19 PM ]
Standing outside of the famous Abbey Road, I thought about all the artists that have passed through into stardom. The doors opened to a vintage theater seating, a stage and curtain and giant LCD monitors. The curtains drew revealing Studio 2 made famous by the Beatles. The instruments were cardboard cutouts and we were still in the Los Angeles Convention Center, but as Harmonix began to demonstrate their newest Rock Band offering, it was difficult to not be swept up in the melodies and harmonies of a band as influential as The Beatles. Releasing on September 9th, the disc will have 45 tracks with plenty of DLC to follow, beginning with "All You Need is Love" (time-released exclusive) on Xbox 360 and the entire album, Abbey Road. All proceeds from purchases of All You Need is Love will benefit Doctors without Borders. Read More…

E3 Hands On Impressions - DC Universe Online
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of June 2009 - 08:06 AM ]
DC Universe Online Hands On We've seen the screen shots. We've seen the video clips. But at E3, there was the chance to actually get some hands on with the game and take it for a pre-beta joy ride. I also got to sit down with one of the designers for the game to get a little more on the game that has yet to be released through their MySpace account or any official press releases. I will say that I wish I could have played around with the character creation tool a bit, but they did have some of the network play up and going. Well network play as in between PS3 and PC and not over the PSN. Read More…

The Ultimate Gaming Wishlist
by Jesse [ Thursday, 4th of June 2009 - 06:31 AM ]
I consider myself a hardcore gamer, and as such I do my best to play a lot of different games. But no matter how satisfied I am with the titles that are released year in and year out, I can't help but wish for something else. Now don't get me wrong, just about anything I could ever want has been released at some point, and yet I still can't help but feel like if someone else had worked on the game it would have taken the game to a whole new level. That's what this is all about. The Ultimate Gaming Wish list is a look at what I would like to see on the horizon. Read More…

E3 Impressions of APB (All Points Bulletin)
by Michael Camacho [ Wednesday, 3rd of June 2009 - 09:09 PM ]
APB, which stands for All Points Bulletin, is the upcoming Persistent Online Game from developer Realtime Worlds. It is a game in which players enter cities as one of two sides, an enforcer or a criminal. With up to 100 people per city, the two sides, as well as various gangs, are in a constant conflict. APB strives to make the gameplay more player driven, than game driven as with most Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) games. They like to consider it as a Dynamic Action Based game, not an MMO or a Role-Playing Game (RPG). Read More…

Aggrogamer E3 Recap for June 2nd
by Michael Camacho [ Wednesday, 3rd of June 2009 - 03:58 PM ]
So day 2 has come and gone for E3 and it was a day ranging from dull to exciting. We saw what Nintendo had to offer, as well as Sony, and finally got to hit the showroom floor to start looking at all the titles. First we all had the chance to attend the Nintendo press conference and they showed off mostly what we've come to expect, which is plenty of casual games aimed towards a broader audience. Which is exactly why the slogan this year was "Everybody's Game". With titles like Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports Resort, Style Savvy, and James Patterson's Women's Murder Club: Games Of Passion, it is easy to see that they are truly trying to reach every demographic. Sony PSP Go! Confirmed
by Ben Brody [ Sunday, 31st of May 2009 - 04:31 AM ]
Remember that rumor that started about a month or so ago that nobody thought was true at all? Well everything (including the Gran Turismo Mobile bit) just got confirmed in one of the most unlikeliest of ways. June's episode of QORE got leaked to the internet much to the dismay of the coordinator of the Sony E3 press briefing, which confirmed the existence of the PSP Go. Boasting a 16gb hard drive, bluetooth, memory card expansion slot, and shedding the UMD slot, the PSP Go looks to be more of a competitor of the iPhone/iPod Touch rather than the DS or it's big brother, of whom it will share the spotlight (Sony will continue to make the 3000). While no mention was made of the PS3 Slim, it is all but certain that the rumors of that are legit as well. Read More…

Mini Ninjas at E3
by Corey Dockendorf [ Saturday, 30th of May 2009 - 12:21 AM ]
To say that I am excited about Eidos' new game Mini Ninjas is an understatement. I think I'm going to get some smoke bombs and adorn my office in samurai swords and kendo armor. One of the games that Eidos' will be debuting as a playable version at E3 is this little gem. Mini Ninjas is the story of a tiny ninja, named Hiro, and his big adventure against an evil warlord, and his quest to save the animals that have been changed into evil samurai, bringing harmony back to the world. From the screen shots it looks like you will be able to navigate through three different characters as well as take control of different animals. There are a few trailers with some game play as well as story and characters on the website. Read More…

UFC 2009: Undisputed Review
by Jesse [ Saturday, 30th of May 2009 - 12:18 AM ]
It’s taken years for mixed martial arts as a sport to grow into the worldwide phenomenon that it is today and much of the success is thanks to the efforts of the Ultimate Fighting Championship which has become the largest fighting league in the world. But if there’s one thing that’s been missing is an MMA video game that captures the spirit and the essence of the sport without having to step into the cage and get your face smashed in. There have been half a dozen attempts in the past, but nothing really seemed to work. Thankfully all that is about to change with UFC 2009: Undisputed. Read More…
