"(Adam) Adamowicz, a Bethesda veteran, was joined by his friend (Ray) Lederer in the fall of 2008. The two have known each other for over a decade, putting them very clearly on the same page in both art and attitude. They both quickly find themselves describing the challenge of working on a fantasy series with so much history, and in a genre that is weighed down by its Tolkien roots."
With a stronger Bethesda engine introduced with Fallout 3, the art team had a powerful tool at their disposal and rather than sticking with a very Kings/Knights theme that we are so familiar with in past Elder Scroll games, they moved towards a more Viking/Nordic take on the world. Thus creating one of the most unique and fantastical looking games to date.
