Review: Diablo III [PS3]
by Greg Tatterfield [ Monday, 16th of September 2013 - 06:42 PM ]
Last year Blizzard released Diablo III on PC to great reviews and critical acclaim. Now months after the PC release, console gamers get a chance to play the superb dungeon crawler. I am among the people who got their hands on Diablo III late since I am exclusively a console gamer. This review will be more for console gamers who have never played Diablo III, since I can’t speak for the original PC version because I have never played it. I will however touch upon the differences between PC and the console ports. What I hated: There were not many things that I hated about Diablo III. Read More...

Diablo III Patch 1.0.2 Is Live
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 30th of May 2012 - 03:57 PM ]
Alright ladies and gentlemen, it's been a week since the release of Diablo III and we have our first patch and another soon to follow. The patch fixes a few bugs in the Auction House as well as tweaks to the Monk and Witch Doctor class. I'll give you the gist of it, but it's in your best interest to read the official statement on the Diablo III website. Monks active skill rune "Tranquility" for Serenity has had its duration cut down to 1 second. The "Physical Damage" Preferred Stats option in the Auction House for rings has been renamed to "Bonus Minimum Physical Damage. Read More...

Review: Diablo III
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 23rd of May 2012 - 06:41 PM ]
After almost eleven years since the release of Diablo II, Blizzard's epic dungeon crawling franchise is finally back. Diablo III takes place twenty years after the events of Diablo II and its expansion "Lord of Destruction" in the world of Sanctuary. After picking one of the five classes (I'll touch on those later) you start your journey off in "New Tristram" which is not too far from the original Tristram (which you will be visiting in Act 1). Your character is in search of "The Fallen Star" which happened to crash into the Tristram cathedral. We soon find out that Decard Cain and his niece Leah were in the cathedral at the time, and Leah gives us the task to find her uncle and save Tristram from the living dead (who happened to rise again due to the power of the fallen star). Aggrocast Episode Ninety Seven: A Blizzard in Hell
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 17th of May 2012 - 06:00 PM ]
After two hand surgeries, Brian - more importantly, the Aggrocast - is back at full strength. Corey and Matt join Brian for a podcast talking about the great clickfest that is Diablo III. The guys also touch on Bioware/EA's woes with Star Wars: The Old Republic, 38 Studios going into loan default, as well as the various court cases swirling around the industry at this time. Without the law books on the table, the guys also touch on what they've been playing including Wet, Bulletstorm, Witcher 2, Torchlight 2 beta and some game called Diablo III. The best news for Corey came when Brian sprung a short Care/Don't Care on the show. Read More...

Diablocast Episode 1: The Beginning
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 16th of May 2012 - 04:17 PM ]
Corey and Brian have at it in this first episode of the Diablocast. Another spoilerific venture from, the Diablocast is 60 minutes of back and forth between "The Blizzard Fanboy" (aka Corey) and "The Diablo's Advocate" (aka Brian) on all things Diablo III. Basically, this episode spawned from a discussion between the two guys that began over text message that just happened to spill into a podcast. Sit back, enjoy and leave all your comments in the show notes below or email us at Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Eighty-Nine: Blitz On Blizzcon
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 31st of October 2011 - 04:28 PM ]
Episode 89 has the Aggrocast mixing things up. Writer Matthew Waitt joins Brian and Corey for the podcast filled with talk of World of Warcraft and everything Blizzcon 2011. You'll also hear Brian pretty much speechless as he tries to wrap his head around why people are still excited about WoW. It's not just a WoW podcast, as we talk about Diablo III, Starcraft II and the almost complete absence of Titan. We also learn more about Matt, do Whatcha Been Playing and still make time for a sweet Care / Don't Care. We are currently still having a technical issue with our usual feeds, so in the mean time, click here to listen, press play below or use the link below to download it directly. Read More...

Trailer Park (10/24/11)
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 24th of October 2011 - 11:09 PM ]
Blizzard has released a new cinematic trailer for Diablo III featuring some very scary atmosphere and demons. The new trailer also shows off some of the story we can expect in Diablo III, such as Asmodon trying to acquire the Black Soulstone to rule as the true prime evil. If my memory serves me correct there are seven prime evils and in Diablo II we killed three of them: Mephisto, Diablo and Baal. The trailer also shows us a new character, who I believe is Deckard Cain's niece, whose name I do not know at this point. But enough of my rambling, enjoy the trailer. Read More...

Foo Fighters Set To Rock BlizzCon 2011
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 28th of September 2011 - 05:01 PM ]
Every year BlizzCon bring some of the most amazing talent to their closing ceremonies at BlizzCon and this year is no exception. Usually fans wait patiently to find out who will be this year's guest and Blizzard has really outdone themselves. With past musical performances by Tenacious D, Ozzy Osbourne and The Offspring, this year we will welcome the Foo Fighters will grace the stage at the Anaheim convention center during the event held October 21st - 22nd. Over the course of their 16-year career, the Foo Fighters have sold tens of millions of records, won half a dozen Grammy awards, and raised countless voices in sing-alongs of iconic anthems like "Everlong," "My Hero," "Learn to Fly", "All My Life," “Best of You,” and “The Pretender.” Foo Fighters' BlizzCon debut marks founder Dave Grohl's triumphant return to the convention after playing drums for Tenacious D in last year's show, and comes during an international arena, stadium, and festival tour promoting their seventh album, the international #1 record Wasting Light. What To Expect In Diablo III?
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 26th of September 2011 - 10:02 PM ]
"My old weary bones ache in the chilly midnight air, as if they try to warn me of something evil lurking within the shadows. It has been twenty years since the heroes of Sanctuary have slain Diablo and his brothers; Baal and Mephisto. I have watched as the minds of these heroes slowly go insane from the horrors they have experienced, and those who still have their sanity cowardly choose to deny the truth, stating that they were only fables they made up for fame and fortune. As I sit here alone in the tavern, the townsfolk blissfully enjoy their festivities unknown to them that evil always returns. I shall wait here for new heroes to rise up and face these challenges, but I fear it might be too late, for evil never sleeps. Read More...

Diablo III Delayed Until Early 2012
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 23rd of September 2011 - 07:03 PM ]
The Diablo III Beta test hasn't even been live for a whole week, and Mike Morhaime announced today that releasing Diablo III "Soon" was too soon. Since February Blizzard had said they were "hoping" to have a launch by the end of this year, but never fully committed to it. Well looks like players are going to have to wait a while longer to get in on this hot title. "While this news might not be a complete surprise, I know that many of you were hopeful that Diablo III would ship this year. We were too. Read More...

Diablo III Brings Real Currency Trading
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 1st of August 2011 - 09:38 PM ]
Well here's some interesting Diablo III news. Players will be able to exchange in game items for real currency! The service will be hosted through an unannounced third party company. The Auction House will be very similar to an E-Bay style system but also completely optional. Players will be able to purchase gold, weapons, armor and runestones on their current accounts, but Blizzard says there will be no "Game play affecting" items available for this type of trade. At the time of this writing Blizzard has no plans to post items directly and will leave the item trading up to the players. Read More...

Blizzcon 2010 In A Nutshell
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 25th of October 2010 - 10:16 PM ]
Here we are, the day after the most anticipated weekend of conventions, Blizzcon. For your typical Blizzcon, it seemed they didn't have any major announcements this year. No Diablo III release date. No word on their new MMO (World of Jersey Shorecraft??) but I will say the cosplay contest was probably the best I've seen so far. Chris Metzen hosted this year's keynote, and after some Blizzard buffs, we broke into a steady run of news beginning with the next WoW expansion. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will be on sale December 7th, and for those that don't want to wait in line at midnight, players can buy and download directly from the website in advance. Read More...
