Well, with holidays comes gifts of some sort and the fine folks at Naughty Dog are at it again. Instead of overweight Drakes however, this time you'll get characters adorned with Christmas hats and a Double Cash weekend.This go round it will be from Thursday, December 24, 2009, at 10:00 AM PST through Sunday, December 27, 2009, at 11:00 AM PST. Not only will you gain double for your trouble with kill, but for medals as well. At this rate I would expect there to be something for the New Year with everyone in the New Year Baby's diaper. Nintendo and Xbox want to Monitor your health

Ever wonder what it would be like to hook yourself up to your Xbox or Nintendo Wii and have it monitor certain vitality signs, use the data to change your avatar accordingly, or tell you what your feeling during certain points of a video game. Imagine status updates but from your internal Biology, take that Facebook!Microsoft recently patented tracking of players physical characteristics and converting that information to reflect on your avatar. Of course a third party device would have to be created first, but Microsoft would pick up all the info and beam it into your Xbox Live account, making your Avatar look more like you. Read More...

On December 12th of ’09, Spike TV held their 7th annual Video Games Award. The Nominees were in, the ballets were turned in and it was time to find out who won. We could go through every award, but we all know we just want to know who won the 2009 Game of the Year. Well the Nominees for Game of the Year were Assassin’s Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Jeff Strain announced Monday his new Video Game Development studio Undead Labs. Whats this? You don't know who Jeff Strain is you say? Jeff is from the Blizzard world, he worked on the programming for Diablo as well as StarCraft. He also formed the initial development team and was the lead programmer for World of Warcraft in '99. Nintendo Priming DSi Holiday Sales Explosion

There are two things that people love and totally go gaga over: Special Editions and Free Stuff. Today, Nintendo announced that this holiday season, the Nintendo DSi will have BOTH starting on Black Friday. Starting on Friday, the DSi will be sold in two new special edition packages that will contain the portable device in one of two colors -- White or Metallic Blue -- as well as have 5 DSiWare titles pre-loaded. The metallic blue DSi has a Mario theme with various games and apps, while the white DSi goes for a more Brain Age slant. You Are To Blame For The RE5 Alternative Edition DLC

Just to prove that Capcom listens to it's community members, and that DLC seems to be the "wanted" format of the future, the new edition of Resident Evil 5 Alternative Edition will be just that, DLC. In case you missed the official announcement, this is the edition that comes with Motion Controller support for the PS3 and about two hours of extra gameplay for the title. It was also originally slated to be a hard copy sale and not a downloadable add-on. When they stated it was going to be a whole new set of discs, this cause some upset for people who have already picked up the game at $60 or $90 and purchased the $5 add-on. Read More...

The bad gets worse. PC gamers have often been on the short end of the stick on gaming for awhile now except for one thing: Multiplayer. Mods, dedicated servers, better clan support, and VOIP programs like Ventrilo and Teamspeak usually make the PC multiplayer experience better than their console counterparts. On the Civilization Fanatics' Forums Sid Meier, legendary creator all thing Civilization, has just announced that they will be creating a Civilization project called Civilization® Network™ via Facebook. Thats right, one of your favorite social networking sites will now encompass the engrossing game of Civilization. The game will be Free-to-play, which is a change from all the "mini-transaction" games we see all over Facebook currently.
