Apocalypse Earth
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of January 2009 - 06:16 PM ]
Earthrise Beta Sign Up So this was kind of an unheard of for me, but I looked into it and it looks pretty cool. What am I blathering about? Well another new MMO to try and steal your internet times called Earthrise. What exactly is it, well look below for their little blurb about their game. Earthrise is a post-apocalyptic science fiction MMORPG, set in the dark future of the planet Earth. The game is designed to run on the Windows operating system, and will be launching in 2009. So now you are probably asking what else is there about this game? Read More...

Challenging BioShock
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of November 2008 - 10:10 PM ]
BioShock PS3 DLC Surfaces Tomorrow So tomorrow, November 20th, those of us that have picked up the PS3 version of BioShock are getting a nice little treat. Exclusive added content for the game on the PSN. The add on is listed below. But there is one thing I find a little off, at least for me, the price point for PS3 users to get this new content. While PS3 BioShock owners will get access to the stuff that was given away to PC and XBox players, these 3 new challenge rooms come for a $10 fee. Might not sound too high, but it is only three new little sections for the game. Read More...

More BS, But The Good Kind
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 24th of October 2008 - 03:02 PM ]
BioShock 2 trailer released, platforms confirmed As posted on here earlier, there is going to be BioShock 2. In fact there was a shaky cam view of the video posted before. But there were no details about the game at all. Well 2K has finally come clean and informed the world of what is going on. It is a real teaser for the new game. But they also let it be known that there will not be such a great delay in platforms that it will be coming out on. What does that mean? Read More...

Google's G1 Android Phone...
by Taylor Rose [ Thursday, 16th of October 2008 - 03:44 PM ]
I know many of Pwned.com's members are, like me, big supporters of Google. I've been highly anticipating the Google G1 Android Phone, and it has finally been announced that the phone will be available in stores on October 22, 2008. What is Android, you might ask? Android is a software platform and operating system that Google developed for mobile devices. Based off of the Linux kernel, it also allows developers to code in a Java-esque syntax: however, it does not provide the full-class libraries/APIS that come with the Java SE or Me, but rather implements the Apache Harmony Java.  Regardless of its seemingly limited functionality, Paul Reddick, CEO of Handmark (a developer of mobile media apps and services for the iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and other OSs) thinks Android will "help breed the simple and elegant programs consumers crave". by Sam [ Thursday, 16th of October 2008 - 03:21 PM ]
PS3 owners who have already beaten Bioshock will unlock the teaser trailer for Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams, coming sometime in the distant future. The video starts off with a little sister, who doesn't seem to be little anymore, holding what would appear to be a Big Daddy Doll staring at the Atlantic Coast. Check out the shaky, crappy quality video below. Read More...

Tell Fables For Fun And Prizes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of October 2008 - 07:51 PM ]
Fable II Site Launches When the first game launched, they did something much the same, as is the case with any new game that launches. You want to get out the info as soon and as quick as possible. Makes sense. But this time around Lionshead and Microsoft have decided to make it even more worthwhile to go to the game's site. This time around when going through the story and cutouts, the choices you make can actually gain you in-game items. Pretty much however you decide to go through can get you different items for play within the game. Read More...

RUMOR MILL: Guess What Else Comes Out Nov 19th Along With NXE
by Ben Brody [ Monday, 13th of October 2008 - 05:32 AM ]
Oh c'mon why wouldn't they pull that. The Inquirer reports that on November 19th of this year, Sony's Playstation Home will be unleashed to the public, coincidentally on the same exact day that Microsoft drops it's New XBOX Experience for its XBOX 360 console. While Home is certainly more substansial (it's a whole virtual world where you can walk around, play games, watch movies, and more, semi-akin to second life), where as NXE is more of a looks-rather-than-content update, both are being heavily looked forward to. While people who live close to each other in real life probably won't substitute going to somebody's PS Home versus going to their real home, it does offer a great solution for people who live across the country. The world you ask? Read More...

TGS 08: XBOX 360 NXE to be released November 19
by Ben Brody [ Thursday, 9th of October 2008 - 07:19 PM ]
So you're 360 is pretty cool right? Well it's about to a lot cooler on Nov 19 with the release of the highly anticipated NXE which is short for New XBOX Experience. If you live under a rock and haven't heard about it, it's a whole new dashboard replacement (just click the link and it'll take you to an example NXE) along with avatars, which Microsoft claims to have thought of before Nintendo's Mii's. Additional features include being able to load a game to a hard drive (you still need the disc in the drive to play but you can expect higher frame rates and quicker load times), the ability to win Microsoft Points by playing arcade style games, access to Netflix movies, and more. Be sure to check out all the other TGS 08 happenings! Read More...

Microsoft Flatters Nintendo
by Mana [ Monday, 8th of September 2008 - 09:14 PM ]
Yep you read the title right. It seems that Nintendo isn't upset at all over the Mii looking Avatars that Microsft released at E3. Instead Nintendo is actually flattered..weird right?  In this month's issue of Club Nintendo (Latin America equivalent of Nintendo Power) they talk to company president Reggie Fils-Aime about his thoughts on the Xbox Avatars, "Copying is a way of flattering, so we're very flattered," said Fils-Aime curtosy of a transltor. Since Nintendo's ever growing success with the Wii and its little Mii's everyone could assume when Microsft unveiled their Xbox Avatars at this years E3 in July that it was an obvious ploy to try and garner the same attention from a group of gamers that Nintendo has gotten the most attention from- The Casual Gamer. But has Microsoft forgotten about their core gamers who stood by their company despite the constant defects that their product had? Read More...

PS3 Gets A Shocking!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of August 2008 - 08:51 PM ]
BioShock Dated And Given Extras So those of you who have heard the hype about Bioshock but were too lazy to get it on the PC or XBox, or only have a PS3, you might have known that it was getting a PS3 release. Well, today it was dated for the gaming world. That's right, the 21st of October. Not bad timing, except that Dead Space is coming out around the same time. But I doubt that will hurt them any. Especially with the extras being offered for the new PS3 version of the game. Read More...
