Mists Of Pandaria Is The Next WoW Expansion
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 21st of October 2011 - 09:16 PM ]
What started out as an April fool's joke has just turned into something far more serious. That's right folks; Mists of Pandaria is the new expansion to World of Warcraft. Blizzard said that they would be turning out expansions for World of Warcraft a lot sooner than they did in the past. Before there was an expansion about once every two years. But Cataclysm has only been out for about twelve months, so I guess Blizzard held up their promises. Anyways, the new trailer shows off the land of Pandaria, a place highly influenced by Asian culture and architecture. Read More...

New Halo Anniversary Trailer Says What's Old is New
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 19th of October 2011 - 02:07 PM ]
A new "BTS" or "Behind The Scenes" trailer has been released for the upcoming Halo: Anniversary. The trailer shows off a lot of new stuff such as Skulls in Campaign, as well as Kinect and 3D support. I was previously on the fence for getting Halo: Anniversary, but after watching this trailer, I can honestly say I'm 100% sold on this. The aforementioned were not the only improvements, now there is easier navigation through the Library. Many of you perhaps remember - as I did - getting lost hundreds of times while the flood eats your face. Read More...

Epic Fail
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 18th of October 2011 - 08:12 PM ]
It was a sweltering summer afternoon, my friend Curt and I were sheltered by an air conditioner on full blast. Inside our sanctuary we spent countless days acquiring callouses and sores on our thumbs as we played endlessly the games of our childhood. One moment in particular stands out from the rest, after many hours and a few dozen restarts Curt and I managed to make it to the final stage of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project for the Nintendo Entertainment System. An eruption of joy and excitement exploded inside me. Too young to control the sudden burst of joy, I jumped off my bed and screamed "YEAH! Read More...

Review: X-Men: Destiny
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 18th of October 2011 - 05:55 PM ]
I am both a fan of X-men and comic books in general. I have many fond memories of playing the four-player, beat-em up style Konami arcade game back in the 80's and I have spent more than a few hours playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 with my buddies. Silicon Knights' newest title, X-Men: Destiny, should have been a no-brainer - backed by such a great concept as it boasted being the next great brawling action game where you could create the mutant you always believed should be in this universe. Unfortunately due to its execution, the game becomes really diluted, which knocks it down a few notches on the likeability scale. Before the game starts, the game will ask you to choose one of three distinct characters - each with their own minor story line. Read More...

So What Did You Think About Rage?
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 10th of October 2011 - 06:23 PM ]
Now that Id Software's new IP is out, what do you guys think about it?I was thoroughly impressed with the demo Id showed off earlier this year at PAX East and eagerly waited for its release in August, but sadly it was pushed back to October. I was perfectly ok with that since I knew the finished product was going to blow my mind into oblivion, but I guess it is safe to say that I'm slightly disappointed. Now don't get me wrong, Rage is still a fun game for me to play, but I was expecting a lot more. I guess the hype got my head in the clouds. Read More...

You've Got To Be Kidding Me. New Mortal Kombat Film In The Works
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 3rd of October 2011 - 03:48 PM ]
Please gods don't let there be another video game film craze coming again. Earlier this week we found out Dead Island has been optioned for a featured film. Now, Mortal Kombat is getting the same treatment. Yes, another Mortal Kombat film is in the works. Although it has potential to be really good but only if things work out as alluded to. Apparently things went way better for the Web Series that was directed by Kevin Tancharoen than Warner Bros. expected. Read More...

Shank 2 Announced
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 29th of September 2011 - 06:18 PM ]
EA has announced that they are working with Klei Entertainment on a sequel to Shank, simply titled "Shank 2" at this point. After killing the criminals who betrayed him, former mob hit man Shank must protect his loved ones from the mob he once worked for. So far no release date has been given, but we can surely expect this one to come out sometime in 2012. I never played the first Shank but I have heard nothing but good things, plus the game looked pretty awesome. Well here are some screen shots and an announcement trailer, enjoy. Read More...

Every year BlizzCon bring some of the most amazing talent to their closing ceremonies at BlizzCon and this year is no exception. Usually fans wait patiently to find out who will be this year's guest and Blizzard has really outdone themselves. With past musical performances by Tenacious D, Ozzy Osbourne and The Offspring, this year we will welcome the Foo Fighters will grace the stage at the Anaheim convention center during the event held October 21st - 22nd. Over the course of their 16-year career, the Foo Fighters have sold tens of millions of records, won half a dozen Grammy awards, and raised countless voices in sing-alongs of iconic anthems like "Everlong," "My Hero," "Learn to Fly", "All My Life," “Best of You,” and “The Pretender.” Foo Fighters' BlizzCon debut marks founder Dave Grohl's triumphant return to the convention after playing drums for Tenacious D in last year's show, and comes during an international arena, stadium, and festival tour promoting their seventh album, the international #1 record Wasting Light. What To Expect In Diablo III?
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 26th of September 2011 - 10:02 PM ]
"My old weary bones ache in the chilly midnight air, as if they try to warn me of something evil lurking within the shadows. It has been twenty years since the heroes of Sanctuary have slain Diablo and his brothers; Baal and Mephisto. I have watched as the minds of these heroes slowly go insane from the horrors they have experienced, and those who still have their sanity cowardly choose to deny the truth, stating that they were only fables they made up for fame and fortune. As I sit here alone in the tavern, the townsfolk blissfully enjoy their festivities unknown to them that evil always returns. I shall wait here for new heroes to rise up and face these challenges, but I fear it might be too late, for evil never sleeps. Read More...

I woke up this morning (9/24) around 10 AM and I did my usual rounds across the internet: Facebook, Pwned, YouTube. I then checked my email and whats on top in my inbox? "Mail from The Old Republic Community - The announcement you've been waiting for" Huh, seems interesting. Curiosity drives me to see what is inside this email. I rejoice to find the release date for Star Wars: The Old Republic - one of the most anticipated MMO's of all time. Star Wars: The Old Republic comes out on December 20th, 2011 - mark your calendars, sell your kidneys and start working on a second job. Read More...

Diablo III Delayed Until Early 2012
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 23rd of September 2011 - 07:03 PM ]
The Diablo III Beta test hasn't even been live for a whole week, and Mike Morhaime announced today that releasing Diablo III "Soon" was too soon. Since February Blizzard had said they were "hoping" to have a launch by the end of this year, but never fully committed to it. Well looks like players are going to have to wait a while longer to get in on this hot title. "While this news might not be a complete surprise, I know that many of you were hopeful that Diablo III would ship this year. We were too. Read More...

World Of Warcraft 4.3 Dungeons Part 1
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 22nd of September 2011 - 06:42 PM ]
So being a regular player of World Of Warcraft, I thought it would be good to give you guys some info on the new dungeons and raids coming in patch 4.3: Dragon Soul. Now I do have mixed feelings for WoW but the lore is what keeps me coming back for more, the stories told in Warcraft are vast, grand and epic rivaling and even surpassing the stories that started the fantasy genre. Without further adieu here are some goodies for you guys. The Great Dragon Aspect; Nozdormu The Timeless has devised an unorthodox and highly dangerous strategy along with Thrall and the other Dragon Aspects to finally destroy Deathwing once and for all, and they need your help. World Of Darkness MMO Seems To Be Keeping The Theme
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 21st of September 2011 - 06:23 PM ]
If you are not a huge fan of White Wolf Publishing and their games, you most likely have no clue that they held their largest fan convention over the last weekend. Most likely not all that interesting to those who don't care for table top gaming or LARP. But for those of you who are MMO fans and love the setting of a dingy darker world that we live in, then you might want to keep reading. Why? Because at said convention the powers that be let loose some new details on the World Of Darkness MMO. Read More...

Nuka Break: Behind The Scenes
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 15th of September 2011 - 04:49 PM ]
Well, seeing as Hades loves himself some Fallout: Nuka Break and so do all of you, I felt it would be good to show you guys some "behind the scenes." I've been following the creators of Fallout: Nuka Break long before they made the fan film. The guy who plays Twig (Zack Finfrock) is the creator and the main guy behind Wayside Creations (the company that made the web series). Zack first started off on a now cancelled (sadly) show called "Backyard FX" where he was made the host. Zack and Wayside Creations have made dozens of helpful props and tutorials for DIY Film making.
