Visceral Games Is Full Of Heretics And Baby Killers
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 10th of November 2009 - 06:32 PM ]
I have been called some bad things in the past, as recent as nine minutes ago. I've received hate letters based on my thoughts and opinions all the time. So it should probably go without saying that the people over at Visceral Games and the inferno team at EA get hit with this just about at often because of Dante's Inferno. Christians are probably going even crazier knowing they have been used for promotions as much as Rick Astley has been on the internet for jokes. But I digress. Read More…

Zelda Still Nothing More Than A Phantom
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 10th of November 2009 - 03:06 AM ]
Last week, Nintendo announced that "for the first time" Link and Zelda will team up to save Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. When I first came across this bit of news, I honestly didn't think much of it. Don't get me wrong -- I'm looking forward to the next adventure with Link on the DS -- but after playing it at E3, I have had modest expectations on new gameplay. The more I thought about this new bit of news, the more excited I got. After 20+ years of waiting to be saved by Link, Zelda is coming to the forefront to assert herself as a dominant character in the series. Read More…

Is Digital Distribution the Future?
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 10th of November 2009 - 02:51 AM ]
It's fairly safe that we can all assume that the future of movies and game sales is digital distribution. How long the duration will be for it to take over is anybody's guess. It will be more determined by the willingness of people to download a game as opposed to having a physical copy than anything else. Delivery systems like GameTap, Direct2Drive and most notably Steam, have been digitally distributing PC games for years and have been met with success. It seems as though PC players are more willing to buy digital distribution than their console counterparts -- maybe because it's been available longer and they feel more comfortable with it or maybe it's because they don't care about having a physical copy since they can not trade it in anyhow. by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 9th of November 2009 - 07:49 PM ]
You've seen it all over Facebook, Myspace, iPhone, and Bebo. Friends of yours are decorating there house on "pet society" or they are working on learning a new recipe over at "restaurant city." It's common-place, it's all over the news feeds, and now it's owned by EA. With EA's new interactive business department, we see yet another step into social networking and media. With their recent release of Dragon Age: Origins, and theie social networking site in conjunction with Bioware, it's no surprise that they are pushing forward to more social media. EA has just announced that it acquired Playfish for $275 million dollars. Read More…

Bayonetta is shaping up to be a really really good game, and if you go by what Famitsu says, it's the best game they've ever played. The game was met with strong sales in Japan this past week and is poised for a US release this upcoming January. If you haven't had the pleasure of visiting E3, PAX, ComicCon, or VGExpo, then you may be in for a treat. Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Impressions
by Brian Bentley [ Sunday, 8th of November 2009 - 03:07 AM ]
The impressions on the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer you are about to read are from our owner and friend, Andy Briggs.  When he isn't melting people's faces off on Xbox Live, you can find him on Pwned.com and Twitter.com.  Well with the release date on a few days away. I figured I would toss in my impressions of the multiplayer. Of course, it is quite reminiscent of the previous CoDs, this one just has a bit more of a special touch to it. Mainly, what I am talking about is the different types of achievements (can't remember what they are called) that accumulate to many different points. Read More…

What Have You Achieved Before The End Of Days?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 7th of November 2009 - 01:37 PM ]
When dealing with the end of the world and pretty much the end of days, what would you expect your goals to be? Probably get laid one last time. Go on a drunken binge. Maybe even see what it is like to kill a person. Maybe even go looting through treasure chests that you may find around the world while riding a horse for 100 miles. Doesn't that sound about right for the general populace of the world? Well what about the horseman of War? Read More…

A Mass Amount of Content?
by Kevin [ Saturday, 7th of November 2009 - 01:45 AM ]
There's no real way to hide from a collector's edition. Every game is going to have one, and if you disagree - it's only because you have yet to find it. Mark my words. This edition is supposed to be limited in quantities, though I would wager that there will somehow be more copies trickling in after the initial rush. The fun'o'plenty pack is going to have a tin case, a hard cover "Art of Mass Effect 2" book, an issue from the Mass Effect Redemption comic and a behind-the-scenes DVD. Bioware is also saying that there will be unique in-game weapons and armor that can only be obtained by purchasing this edition. Read More…

War Zones, Zombies, Hip Hop, And 'Film Actors Guild'
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of November 2009 - 10:13 PM ]
The below thoughts are those of me, David, and not those of AggroGamer.com or Pwned.com. Send all hate mail and comments to me, or post them below. Just do the favor of not posting Annon and thus the wuss way out. With Modern Warfare and Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles both gracing shelves in the next two weeks, one after the other, it would seem time for the final launch trailers to hit the webs to give us even more reason to want these games. Like there is anyone that doesn't already want Modern Warfare and there is no Nintendophile that couldn't use another great zombie rail shooter. Am I right? Read More…

Final Fantasy Keeps On Shooting More Screens
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of November 2009 - 07:05 PM ]
With the launch of the Japanese version of Final Fantasy XIII coming up here in a little over a month, we should all get ready for the onslaught of spoilers, videos, and screen shots. We as in everyone else in the world that has to wait until an unknown date or import in a Japanese version because we really can't wait for this game. I know I fall in the prior over the latter, but that's my love of the English language and lack of Japanese training. In any instance, here is a nice batch of eight new shots of the game. Review: Torchlight
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 6th of November 2009 - 04:30 PM ]
There are times in any gamer’s life when you find yourself blearily looking for a clock, attempting to adjust your eyes to read the time. You find yourself trying to comprehend how the time reported is much later than the internal clock in your head. How much time have you lost? Minutes? Hours? If Runic Games is using that time as a measure of success of their recently released Action-RPG Torchlight, there must be a party in Washington every night! The story begins in the small mining village of Torchlight. Ember, a mineral of extraordinary power (and possible corruption) was found in a nearby mine. Read More…

More Modern Warfare 2 PC Woes
by Ben Brody [ Friday, 6th of November 2009 - 01:34 PM ]
The bad gets worse. PC gamers have often been on the short end of the stick on gaming for awhile now except for one thing: Multiplayer. Mods, dedicated servers, better clan support, and VOIP programs like Ventrilo and Teamspeak usually make the PC multiplayer experience better than their console counterparts. Modern Warfare 2, which is poised to be the best selling FPS of all time, is only full of disappointments to the PC crowd unfortunately.Dedicated servers have already been taken away from the PC version and now comes more.
