Watch The Call Of Duty: Ghosts All Access Livestream Right Here
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 9th of June 2013 - 05:03 PM ]
So just as Konami did earlier, Activision is hosting a PrE3 event. The only difference is that this 30 minute event is all about one title, Call Of Duty: Ghosts. It starts at 11am PST on the 9th, A.K.A. today. Unless you are reading this in the future then we'll just go with June 9th. Either way you should be able to see it below, even if you are viewing from the future. What are they going to cover? Well from what I've been told we will get to see a few game play levels, behind the scenes footage, interviews with the people over at Infinity Ward, and more. Read More...

The E3 Daylight Trailer Is Just As Cryptic As The Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 9th of June 2013 - 02:45 PM ]
Back during PAX we got a little bit of hands-on with Daylight and the developers were a bit close lipped about some of the specifics even while we were playing the demo. As you move through an abandoned hospital with but your phone for light and direction you encounter cryptic things about the environment that we had to piece together to continue. A nice little feature that isn't all that common in games today and with the below E3 trailer it looks like it is going to move into their PR for the game as well. If you want to call it a trailer, then you can see it below. Read More...

Is Dying Light A Capture The Flag/Parkour/Zombie Game?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 8th of June 2013 - 08:18 PM ]
Talk about another E3 trailer that is all CGI and no game play. A new trailer for Dying Light has just been released into the wild and it surprisingly shows no game play despite the fact that it will be on deck at the convention this year. What is interesting to note though is that even though there is no game play some of the events could point toward other aspects of the game than "survive the zombie uprising." Watch and enjoy the trailer and I'll throw out my speculations afterward. So we all know that Dying Light is going to have a free running aspect to the game. Read More...

Here Are A Few New Screenshots Of The Evil Within, But No New Info
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of June 2013 - 08:20 PM ]
Talk about being tight lipped. While most other larger titles are getting new trailers and information spewed all over the internet leading up to E3 it looks like The Evil Within is holding back. Well holding back a bit as you will see a few "new" screenshots below but nothing new to add to the overall game. This could be to try and blow everyone's minds at E3 though as TEW is one of the main titles that Bethesda is showcasing. At least that is my hopes. Read More...

See The Next Generation Of Mo-Cap With inFAMOUS: Second Son
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of June 2013 - 05:53 PM ]
Let's add a bit of a break from the E3 trailers and PrE3 announcements for a moment and take a look at how some of the next gen tech is shaping up in regards to motion capture. Since both the PlayStation 4 and inFAMOUS: Second Son are going to be huge things at the event I am sure we will get to see more, but for now let's look at how much detail the new hardware and software will handle the fine movements in a game. Some of these being things that can help define a character's mood without the need of speaking. Pretty interesting even though the main character looks to have a lazy eye most of the time. It's Confirmed! I Can Play Most PS4 Games In The Bathroom
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 29th of May 2013 - 11:09 PM ]
So after the big PlayStation 4 announcement it isn't really big news that there will be remote play functionality between the PS4 and the PS Vita. Hells, they showed that working on stage. You can see that down below if you want a recap on things. What is the big news here then if it has already been defined this is a feature? Well it seems that according to developer sources of Digital Foundry's Vita Remote Play is mandatory for all PS4 titles. This was later confirmed by Shuhei Yoshida (President SCEW Studios) via twitter after a questions surfaced. Read More...

Parkour And The Undead Is Becoming A Thing In Dying Light
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 28th of May 2013 - 03:43 PM ]
Looks like Techland doesn't want to stop bringing the FPS zombie games with just the Dead Island franchise. Just announced is their new IP Dying Light which, as you have guessed, is another first person zombie game in an island/jungle locale. Before we start calling them out for rehashing the same platform like other developers and franchises, let's see what they have new to offer so they can claim this as a completely new IP. As mentioned in the title, there is a "free running" mechanic in place for starters. There isn't much detail on it as Dying Light is still in the early announcement stages but what is known is that it will allow us freedom of movement throughout the vast environments. Read More...

Things Are Getting Hairy For Call Of Duty: Ghosts
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 23rd of May 2013 - 04:35 PM ]
I am sure we are still trying to take in the Xbox One reveal and the odd focus on TV and Sports. But let's skip all of that for now and focus on the tail end of the reveal. I am talking Call Of Duty: Ghosts and the new trailer, behind the scenes, and comparison videos we all sat through 45 minutes to get to. Even though the Xbox One and 360 will be getting DLC first for the game, as usual, it is still a title that gamers of any platform can sink their teeth into. It looks like we are going into a post war world that has been ravaged by humans once again; the mongrels. Read More...

Bethesda Is Going To Show You The Evil Within
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 19th of April 2013 - 09:05 PM ]
Given all the horror and evil in the world right now it seems perfect time to announce Bethesda and Tango Gameworks' new title The Evil Within. This is what the Bethesda has been teasing with the Vine clips they have been posting. You can see the full announcement trailer below if you are finished with being teased. So far, details are extremely sparse on TEW. Outside of the announcement and following images, the only other concrete detail is that it is being helmed by Shinji Mikami. Read More...

Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag - Game Play Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 28th of March 2013 - 11:19 PM ]
Earlier this month we had the official announcement of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag with not much to go on other than the time period of the story and the culture it is based around. During the reign of Blackbeard and pirates for those who are just now following along. No matter which you are, we now have a bit of game play from Black Flag and it looks like Ubisoft is trying to focus on the naval combat that debuted back in ACIII not so very long ago. It also looks like we will get to punch sharks in the gills during underwater scenes of the game, so there is also that. I'll be honest; I have yet to actually play AC III nor any of the 'spin off' titles that launched alongside so I have no clue how well or poorly this new mechanic actually handled in the games. Assassin's Creed IV Accidentally Then Officially Announced
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 4th of March 2013 - 07:45 PM ]
It has been made official; Assassin's Creed IV is coming just about a year after AC3 has landed. It was originally rumored with the below trailer teasing it last week, but since the cat was let out of the bag it looks like Ubisoft isn't keeping it hidden any more. The video is now to be considered the official announcement of AC4 along with the release date of November 1st 2013. That adds another title to the PS4's launch lineup it would seem. Now for the interesting part, it looks like Ubisoft is breaking from the theme of traveling forward in history with each new AC title as we will be playing during the time of Blackbeard. Read More...

Now That We've Had Some Time, Let's Talk PS4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 26th of February 2013 - 01:45 AM ]
It's been a bit of time since Sony held its huge press conference where the PS4 was officially announced. They let loose the proposed specs for the new machine as well as a quick look at the Dual Shock 4, new services, and a few games that will be coming this holiday season. With the announcements comes a bit of wonder and excitement, as I am sure Sony wants, but should we blindly follow along and get ready to drop upwards of $600 this November? I've had some time to reflect and let the initial excitement subside, so let me bring up a few things I took away and pondered on. If for some reason you missed it, as I did, you want to check what I'm talking about, or you just don't care for the words and just want to watch it again, the video is below. Read More...

Sony's New Patent Could Put An End To Used Games
by Greg Tatterfield [ Friday, 4th of January 2013 - 06:52 PM ]
Used games have been a sore spot with game companies for a long time now. For most gamers used games are a great way to save money or play a game that they may have missed. However If Sony has anything to say about it this trend may be coming to an end soon. Sony has filed a patent for a new technology that will block used games from being played on Sony's consoles. The new system works by reading a tag embedded on the game disk and then linking to the player ID and the user’s console. After the tag has been linked to the first console that the game was played on any future attempt to play the game on another user’s console will not work. Read More...

Putting The PS4 Rumors To Rest
by Binh Nguyen [ Thursday, 10th of June 2010 - 05:40 PM ]
So it has been an interesting past couple of days with the two video “leaked” from the YouTube channel “SCELabs.” They had people wondering in regards to if Sony is actually going to be announcing PlayStation 4 or if it was something for th 3D gaming patch. Well, it isn't for the PS4. Shocker huh? Al de Leon, Sony hardware PR representative said, “I can confirm that this video is not from SCE (Sony Computer Entertainment).” My Take: Well at least we know that the videos are a complete fake and we do not have to wonder any more.
