This Week In Video Games 9/22/14 — 9/26/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of September 2014 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games It's been a fun week in video games has it not? I know it has been here as we've had not one, not two, but three game reviews go live on the site here. This is only the start of things as we get into the heavy review season and I personally can't wait. Destiny, Anomaly 2, and Forza Horizon 2 are just the tip of the iceberg as we move into fall. In the coming weeks I have a feeling that we are going to have loads more for you on the site to help you decide if you need to spend the time and money on specific titles or not. Read More...

Let's Go Inside The Mind And Art Of The Evil Within
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of September 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
Two new behind the scenes looks at The Evil Within have been released to show off the art and gameplay direction that the game has taken from start to finish Today is wrapping up to be a 'behind the scenes' kind of day now with The Evil Within adding two more videos to show off what has gone into making the game. The larger difference here is that most of it is through interviews with Shinji and the development team instead of just showing off what is going on with the game's engine and design directions. None the less we all get a nice and interesting look at how the team over at Tango Gameworks is going to be trying to drive fear into all of our hearts here on October 14th. Read More...

A new trailer for Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare has been released and it has everything from new story bits to a new 4-player co-op mode for the game Good news for all us out there waiting to hear more on the four-player co-op modes of Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Looks like we have a new mode to list from the latest trailer that has been released from Sledgehammer and Activision. The new mode is called Exo Survival and from what it looks like it is another survival mode where you and three others will have to 'survive' waves of enemies while wearing your new exoskeletons. Sounds like quite a bit of fun. Read More...

Review: Forza Horizon 2
by Greg Tatterfield [ Thursday, 25th of September 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
We sit down and play Microsoft's newest entry in their long running racing series Forza Horizon 2. Is it worth talking it out for a cruise? Hated Forza Horizon 2 features a huge open world that's larger than the original. The large expansive open world isn't the problem. The problem lies with the fast travel system. Like the first game fast traveling to the festival is free but fast traveling to any of the hubs across the map will cost you over 9,000 precious credits that are used to upgrade and purchase new cars. This means driving everywhere or burn through your credits by fast traveling. Read More...

Some New Final Fantasy XV Gameplay And Details
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 23rd of September 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
There has been more than just the trailer for Final Fantasy XV revealed including gameplay and game mechanics If you were worried after the long wait for the Final Fantasy XV trailer that we would have another long wait until we received more updates on the game then you can rest a little. We have some new gameplay footage from Final Fantasy XV fresh from the TGS as well as a few tidbits of information on the game's mechanics. That and the news that EVERYTHING we've seen so far, sans the flying spaceships in the trailer, is 100% in engine footage. The spaceships were pre-rendered and that was it. Read More...

The Live Action Sunset Overdrive Trailer Isn't Upon Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 22nd of September 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A new 'live action' trailer for Sunset Overdrive has been released for us to see…well…kind of Well it looks like Sunset Overdrive now has a 'live action' trailer for everyone to pine over and lose their shit for. I don't understand the point of live action trailers for video games but I guess if Microsoft and Insomniac want to waste the money you've given them over the years, then I guess we need to let them. You know, to make sure that we all know that Sunset Overdrive is coming to the Xbox One here in a month and we need to shell out more cash for them to have a larger budget for their next IP. So they can make another live action trailer for a virtual world game. Read More...

The New Hotwire Multiplayer For Battlefield Hardline Looks Intense
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 22nd of September 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
A new multiplayer mode for Battlefield Hardline has been detailed and has a new trailer from EA and Visceral Games What would the cops and robbers style of Battlefield Hardline be without epic car chases through the city? It wouldn't be worth its weight in platinum multiplied by a hundred if it didn't have that kind of gameplay included somehow into the game. Good thing that EA and Visceral Games thought ahead for all of us and included just that in the Hotwire Multiplayer mode of the game. Yes, there will be some epic car chases coming to our PS4s, Xbox Ones, and PCs here in short time and I have a feeling that they are going to be some of the most intense matches to date. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 9/15/14 — 9/19/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 19th of September 2014 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games It Tokyo Game Show time so that means there should be a whole lot of new news in the area of video games. Did I say should? I meant there is and was. More than you could shake an eleven foot pole out so we had to break out the twelve foot pole to make sure all of the shaking was properly done and we were able to cover as much as we could in the world of video games and gaming. Believe me when I say we weren't even able to get to everything that there was in the industry this week and we'll have to keep the news flowing. We were able to cover quite a few thing s in video games though. Read More...

New Locations Shown Off For The Evil Within
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 19th of September 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A few new screen shots and concepts for The Evil Within have been released to show off a couple locations we will be surviving through Earlier in the week we had a nice little trailer for The Evil Within that didn't do much to show off anything we haven't seen for the game so far. It wasn't a letdown at all but I know I would have loved to see a few more places, environments, or locations that we are going to be running for our lives around. Even the "new gameplay" from the Tokyo Game Show is just another play though for the same demo levels we have seen since the big E3 showing. We have a month left so it is time we ask for a bit more. Blodborne Now Has A Release Date For All Other Locations
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 18th of September 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
The release date for all territories has been announced for Blodborne from Sony at the Tokyo Game Show At the beginning of the month we had a nice showing of Blodborne and its slated release date in Japan during Sony's pre-TGS press event. This was nice and all for all of those who lived in Japan but the rest of the world was wondering when Blodborne would be hitting their PS4s and if it would be around the same time. I know I speculated on the same thing at the time of the press event so I know what everyone was talking about. Well it looks like all of the speculation was pretty much correct as we will be seeing Blodborne on February 6th 2015. Read More...

It's Been A Long Time Coming But Here's A New Final Fantasy XV Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 18th of September 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Fresh from the Tokyo Game Show we have a new trailer for Final Fantasy XV from Square Enix to tide us over until the next one It's been tease after tease for Final Fantasy XV and now it looks like we finally are getting what we want. A new trailer for Final Fantasy XV has been released from Square Enix at this year's Tokyo Game Show and it looks just as we would expect it to; orgasmic. While there still is no word on when we will be seeing the game on our PS4s or Xbox Ones there is quite a bit of what can be assumed as in game footage throughout the entire two and a half minute trailer for the game. I know you no longer care to read the words here so have a look at the trailer and I'll continue on about Final Fantasy XV after you've had a good look. Read More...

See The World Of Ruvik From The Evil Within
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 17th of September 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
The TGS trailer for The Evil Within has been released by Bethesda and Tango Gameworks and it is looking even more insane It looks like we have a new trailer for The Evil Within straight out of the Tokyo Game Show and it actually manages to make the game look more intense than it already did. I didn't think this was going to be possible given how amazingly freakish the game looks and sounds already but this new trailer is cut so perfectly that I can see the goal for Silent Hills coming to life here in The Evil Within. The whole needing a second pair of under garments to make it through the bulk of the game and all. You know what I'm talking about here. Read More...

The Delicious Sounds Of The Evil Within
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 10th of September 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
A new Bethesda Underground video has been released showing off just how they got some of those gruesome sound effects for The Evil Within We already know that The Evil Within is going to have some amazing voice talents but there is so much more to the audio for a game like this than just famous voice overs. Flesh being torn, brains being stabbed, bones being crushed, and limbs being ripped also make the fear factor of a survival horror title. All kinds of gross and nasty things need to be recorded in the mix to make you really cringe at the scenes that you are watching or playing through. Read More...
