It Is Time To Spin Up SOMA Again In Safe Mode
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 1st of December 2017 - 08:00 PM ]
SOMA The release for SOMA is here for the Xbox One and with it comes a new mode for SOMA called Safe Mode For some of you out there, the wait is finally over and you can play SOMA now as it is here for the Xbox One now. Only a bit of time after it hit the PS4 and PC, but sometimes that is how games go and thankfully Frictional Games did not want to leave anyone out there in the cold. Sure, you could have given SOMA a try on any of the other platforms out there, but now it is here to cover all of the spread san the Nintendo side of things. Maybe that will come but most likely not. Of course this means we are heading into review season which has all but started right now but truly kicks off with a few video games getting their launch next week. Rock Band 4 and MGO do land on October 6th which is Tuesday now. Read More...

Review — SOMA
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 1st of October 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
SOMA We Sit Down And Review SOMA. Is It Worth Your Time? Is it the horror title that will bring the genre back to fun? Here's Our Review Of Soma As we move into the month of horror there has been one title I have been excited to dive into and it is SOMA. It looks like the best melding of Dead Space and BioShock by Frictional Games with a bit of higher thinking and philosophy mixed in. I won't delve into that too much as it is one of the pivotal aspects of SOMA and I'll keep this as spoiler free as possible but it did capture my eye. Now that September 22nd has come and past I have been able to play SOMA on the PS4 and it is time for my formal review of the game and if it will do what the videos and promos have claimed thus far. Dive Deeper Into The Story Of SOMA With A Web Series
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 28th of September 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
SOMA A new web series for SOMA has been released and it is aiming to bring us all deeper into the story behind SOMA with prequel events If you've had the pleasure to play, start to play, or finish SOMA then you know one of the greatest selling points of the game is the story here. It is thought provoking, dark, and just an interesting tale to wrap around the horror events of this PS4 and PC title. In fact for some SOMA has left players wanting more out of Frictional Games in the way of said story. I'm looking for more story and gameplay personally but it looks like all we are getting at this time is an expansion into SOMA with a live-action mini-series that will be available on the web. SOMA's Story To Ask Us All What It Is To Be Human
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 18th of September 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
The story trailer for SOMA has been released and it gives a bit more insight into the philosophical questions that SOMA will be raising Up until now I have been trying to make heads and tails of what SOMA's overall story will be about. The game launches next week on September 22nd for the PC and PS4 so it seems like it would be high time for Frictional Games to delve into the weirdness that they are known to create. SOMA has definitely shown that freak flag since its very first teaser trailer and now the culmination is here. Along with that we also have some more insight into the story we will be experiencing here in SOMA via a nice new story trailer. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 9/7/15 — 9/11/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of September 2015 - 11:14 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games It has been a shorter week in the video games world here but that still doesn't mean we didn't get to what we could. It did allow for us to play catch-up on all of those video games we had sitting around or just launched here recently. Only now we get to look forward to titles like Rock Band 4, Hellblade, and The Wither 3's DLC that are all coming. At least based on all of the video games we had to cover this week even though, like I said, it was shortened by the most recent American holiday and we took a break to play some video games. SOMA's Creatures Really Are The Fuel For Nightmares…
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 10th of September 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
Have another look at SOMA's creatures and monsters that will be stalking the depths as we try not to lose our sanity with SOMA Get ready to live and breathe the horror that is SOMA as we have our first kind of look at the creatures that will be stalking us on September 22nd. We've seen a few before in other videos that Frictional Games has shown off but this one kind of takes the cake. At least in terms of setting the mood of SOMA and the horror it is trying to instill. If things pay off I can see SOMA replacing all that hype that Silent Hills had on the PS4 only this time on the PC as well. Read More...

Enter The Crushing Depths Of SOMA's Environments
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 3rd of September 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
Another trailer for SOMA shows off more of the dark, deep seas that we will be fighting for our lives in when we play SOMA If there has been one upcoming title that has had me both intrigued and confused it has to be SOMA. Sometimes it looks like weird sci-fi horror title and then we get videos like we have below that make it look like some kind of dark deep sea adventure. At least across the board Frictional Games has kept the horror look no matter which vision of SOMA I am looking at. Thankfully all of that will be solved soon as SOMA is hitting the PC and PS4 here on September 22th. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 8/24/15 — 8/28/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 28th of August 2015 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games This week in video games in now in a wrap and we can all focus on bigger and better things. Like PAX Prime or actually playing some of those video games that we heard or know about now. Especially since next week is going to be a doozy with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Mad Max hitting on the same day. That is if you were able to get through Until Dawn and the latest for Tales From The Borderlands already. Sometimes things have to hit the back-burner and get played later instead of sooner. Hear & See The Terror That SOMA Will Hopefully Instill
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 24th of August 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
A new developer diary and screenshots for SOMA have been released all focusing on the atmosphere and sounds that will inspire fear in SOMA Given that SOMA is supposed to be a horror-like title it would make sense that there are a lot of creepy sounds during the game. Same goes with the fact that it is a Sci-Fi title as well so we should be expecting a whole lot of that as well. SOMA wouldn't be the title that Frictional Games is pushing if these elements were not present as we all should know that sound and music help drive emotions and tone in video games. Well, any form of media, but we are talking SOMA and we are talking video games here. Read More...

New SOMA Trailer Shows Us What Sucks About Dying
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 11th of June 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
We have the new SOMA E3 trailer here to show us a bit more about the concept of the game as well as the release date for SOMA We are well into the E3 trailer season right now and next up happens to be a game I have been keeping a close eye on: SOMA. I've mentioned it many times before but for you newbies here this is the net sci-fi horror game from Frictional Games. It looked like another BioShock style game when first announced but SOMA has evolved, or at least the trailers have evolved, to show us something unique and not another plain knock off. As I said you can have a look at the trailer below to see what I am talking about but do make sure to stay all the way to the end of the weirdness as we also get the SOMA release date for PS4 and PC/Steam. This Week In Video Games 5/25/15 — 5/29/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 29th of May 2015 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games This week seemed to fly right by but that doesn't mean there wasn't a whole lot to cover in the world of video games by any means. We had a bunch of release date announcements for SOMA, Until Dawn and Wander. We had some new games announced in the way of Perception and What Remains Of Edith Finch. Then a whole mess of new video and information for Batman: Arkham Knight. Like I said, short week but way too much going on in the world of video games. Read More...

SOMA Has Some New Gameplay & A Release Date Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 29th of May 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
We have the first real gameplay trailer for SOMA and it shows off all of the creepiness that we've been waiting to fully see for SOMA Surprisingly it has been over a year since last we saw anything solid in terms of gameplay for SOMA. Back then I was captivated with what Frictional Games was working on to creep us all out or make us question "what the hells is going?" Then nothing. Or at least very little so SOMA kind of fell into the back of my brain as we all needed to move on. Read More...
