Not that long ago now we had the official announcement for the Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition coming from Gunfire Games to bring the franchise to a new generation of fans out there wanting to give the franchise a chance but only got into things at the start of the PS4 and Xbox One days. That wasn't too long ago but you know, money and the want to push the Darksiders franchise forward require a new version of Darksiders 2 to be pumped out there. I won't complain as it will give me another new reason to don the Death mask and hop back into the fun and amazing universe designed by Nordic Games; even though this is another HD remaster of sorts. But that is all semantics for now.
What I am proud to show you here is that we have our first real comparisons for Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition to the original Darksiders 2 version of the game. You know, because visuals are going to be the only thing we can see for now and that most the newer generation seems to care for. So here you go without further waiting I'll just let you have a look at what Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition will be bringing in terms of upgrades to the graphics of the game. Slide all of the sliders to the right to see the original version and all the way to the left to see the super upgraded versions.

So for the most part it looks like the Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition will only have very subtle upgrades based on these images above. I am kind of hard pressed to see any real difference between the two here. I guess we will all just have to hope that the inclusion of all of the DLC from Darksiders 2 and the ability to just play it on the newer consoles will be enough to sell the game to the new market. I do hope for the franchise's sake as I know a lot of gamers out there who are all about the graphics and not about the story. Sad times we live in but hopefully these kinds of ports and upgrades start to sway the new generation.
For those wondering here is a list of all the DLC that will be coming with the Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition when it launches this winter or sometime around then.
- Maker Armor Set
- The Abyssal Forge
- The Demon Lord Belial
- Death Rides
- Angel of Death
- Deadly Despair
- Shadow of Death
- Mortis Pack
- Rusanov's Axe
- Van Der Schmash Hammer
- Fletcher's Crow Hammer
- Mace Maximus
- Argul's Tomb
So now that you've seen the comparisons for the Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition, what do you think? Does it look like there was much of an upgrade to the visuals here or should we all hope that the other features and DLC for Darksiders 2 will sell the game more? We know how I feel but how do you feel? Let us know down in the comments and as with all things Darksiders 2 and Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition related keep it locked in here as we will bring you the updates as we get them.
