San Diego Comic-Con 2022 — It’s A Hell Of A Thing
by Raymond Bruels [ Wednesday, 17th of August 2022 - 07:00 PM ]
SDCC This Is A Survivor’s Tale To My San Diego Comic-Con 2022 Experience & Just How SDCC Went Down For Me After five days and over forty miles of walking, I really needed to rest and reflect on my San Diego Comic-Con excursion. As mentioned in my introduction to SDCC 2022 article, this is my first year attending. Despite the countless hours reading posts on Facebook, skimming hundreds of images from past conventions, and grilling my Chief Editor on how various elements worked I can safely say it was not enough preparation. Honestly, I think that is part of the awe and grandeur of SDCC, not knowing just what you are really walking into. Read More...

San Diego Comic-Con Countdown — One Month Out
by Raymond Bruels [ Tuesday, 28th of June 2022 - 07:00 PM ]
Comic-Con This is a preamble to my San Diego Comic-Con 2022 coverage 2022 marks my first time attending the historic San Diego Comic-Con and I am beyond excited. Being a lifelong fan of comic books, pop culture, and gaming, I have dreamed of attending SDCC for years. Luckily, our Chief Editor is a veteran and has been an invaluable guide through the process. Dreaming of attending and then actually looking at going is vastly different and there are several things to consider should this be your first-year trek. One of the first considerations for SDCC, outside of your ticket, is housing and parking. Read More...

Oh, The Sights & Sounds Of The Comic-Con Special Edition
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 3rd of December 2021 - 10:00 PM ]
Comic-Con Things shifted up for this year's Comic-Con and here is a bit of a look at the Comic-Con Special Edition There is no denying that the last few years have been a little rough on conventions and events like E3 and Comic-Con International have been hit fairly hard out there. There have been many of the smaller conventions out there that have not been able to survive everything we have been going through since 2020. As many of the avid readers of the site will know, SDCC is one of the bigger ones we like to head out and cover for all of the various gaming needs and other attractions that bring a bit of gaming into our real world. That is why I know myself and the team were pumped to be able to head out to Comic-Con Special Edition last week. Read More...

SDCC Experience — The Walking Dead Escape 2015
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 23rd of July 2015 - 10:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead Escape Was Back At SDCC Giving All Of Us A Feel For What A Survival Horror Game Really Feels Like Another SDCC down and another fun run of The Walking Dead Escape to show us all how a survival horror kind of game could be like in the real world. If this is your first time reading about The Walking Dead Escape this would be the zombie obstacle course that has been set up out in San Diego's Petco Park for the fourth year running. Pun intended. The quick breakdown, if you don't want to read our original write up, is that you get grouped together with a small group of other "Runners" and then set loose to get from one end of a set up obstacle course to the other all while a group of other paid participants dressed as the "Walkers" try to corner you and end your life. The Walking Dead Getting A Live Performance At SDCC 2015
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
Select scenes from The Walking Dead's season one from Telltale is getting the live performance treatment at SDCC 2015 As if there wasn't going to be a shortage on The Walking Dead at SDCC this year it looks like Telltale Games' video game is going to get the liver performance treatment and you can watch it right here. Granted you can't watch it until Saturday (7/11) at 8:00pm PST but if you can't make it out to San Diego to see it and what Skybound has to offer us all. I have a feeling that this will be a lot like the same event that was held for The Last Of Us only with the The Walking Dead being the story and those character/actors doing all of the work. The Dead Rise Again At SDCC With The Walking Dead Escape
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of July 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead Escape is back at SDCC 2015 giving all of us a feel for what a Survival Horror game really feels like in the world of The Walking Dead Looks like the SDCC tradition just keeps going as The Walking Dead Escape is making its return again to SDCC 2015. This would be the live action, survival horror experience set in the world of The Walking Dead that graced Petco Park back in 2012 and has been going strong ever since. The only difference this year is it would seem that this video game-like experience is being brought to life even more not with just the TV show but also it sounds like the other media platforms and versions are making a show during The Walking Dead Escape. Notably one of the best characters from the franchise; Negan. Read More...

SDCC Experience: The Walking Dead Escape
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 31st of July 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead Escape was back at SDCC giving all of us a feel for what a Survival Horror game really feels like For the third year running (pun intended) I was able to experience The Walking Dead Escape at SDCC. I broke down what it was all about before but I'll give the quick version just in case you are lazy. In a nut shell it is a real world survival horror event that tests if you could escape from one end of a location, Petco Park in this case, to the other without being swarmed by the undead horde. The Walking Dead Escape of course using portions of the AMC show, comic books, and video games to theme everything. Read More...

The Walking Dead Escape Is Again Letting Us Play A Survival Game At SDCC
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 1st of July 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead Escape is coming back to San Diego Comic Con for a third year and is allowing us gamers to try to survive a zombie apocalypse game in real life If there has been one thing that has caught my love over the last few years at San Diego Comic Con it has to be The Walking Dead Escape. If you haven't seen or heard of it or seen it you can see my 2013 run and my 2012 run or you can just look around online as the event is still touring around the country giving all of us gamers a chance to test our mettle in a real live zombie apocalypse of sorts. If you are just one of those lazy people here I'll recap what the event is all about. In a nut shell they people who put on the event take over an arena, mall, or large building structure and do it and its surroundings up as if it was a location from The Walking Dead show or comic. Playing A Real World Zombie Game - The Walking Dead Escape
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of July 2013 - 04:34 PM ]
Just as last year, The Walking Dead Escape was back with a vengeance at Petco Park during the San Diego Comic Con. For the uninitiated this is an event where a good portion of the sports arena in San Diego was converted into an obstacle course in the theme of AMC's The Walking Dead. It really allows for people to really test their mettle and some of their survival skills to brag that they could survive the initial zombie outbreak. I was lucky enough to get to run the course again this year and what I found interesting was that most people I ran with compared the experience to most of the action zombie video games on the market today. Granted we were not allowed to attack the zombies in the run, but I would have to agree with the sentiment as there has been a push in the industry with Outlast and Dying Light this year. Play The Walking Dead For Real At Comic Con
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of July 2012 - 08:37 PM ]
So by now you've most likely played Telltale's The Walking Dead, read the comic or seen the show. If anything you at least are interested in the zombie apocalypse scenario. Well here is something that those interested in any of those things mention will find pretty damn awesome. If you are at San Diego Comic Con next week you will have the chance to actually play "the game" for real. The game being that of surviving in a world where the dead have escaped the Underworld and are coming for your flesh. This isn't some small obstacle course set up as fun for promotions either. Mortal Kombat No Longer The Dream You Want
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 27th of July 2011 - 10:26 PM ]
So this threw me for kind of a loop at Comic Con. The fourth, and possibly final, DLC character announced for Mortal Kombat is Freddy Krueger. Not the rumored Green Lantern or some other comic super hero but the master of nightmares. Not to mention the most recent incarnation of him with a few tweaks to make him a realistic fighter for the game. That means that they needed to glove each hand instead of just the one. Below you can view the new game play trailer for Mr. Read More...

Comic Con 2011 Impression: Darksiders II
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 27th of July 2011 - 05:35 PM ]
While it was not playable, at least to non-developers, Darksiders II came with the full force of Death at this year's SD Comic Con. Puns always intended here. What did we get to see for the game? We some of the new weapons, game play and a small bit of the story that we will get to play through come next year. Also, if you look below, some amazing art and visuals for the game. Let me break down what I saw and a bit of extra info about it. Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 25th of July 2011 - 04:12 PM ]
X-Men Destiny is an Action RPG collaboration between Marvel and Activision. With an original story-line where you play as a new mutant within the X-men Universe, players will have the ability to make choices throughout the game, and your "Destiny" will be determined by these RPG style decisions. Marvel and Activision have released two behind the scenes trailers for their upcoming title X-Men Destiny. After the jump you will see the latest trailer, along with two behind the scenes videos. The behind the scenes videos consist of the actors from in-game, Scott porter and Jaimie Chung, explaining a little more about the games characters, Adrian and Aimi, also shedding some light on their background story-lines. by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 22nd of July 2011 - 03:09 PM ]
GoldenEye is probably one of the greatest FPS's of all time and as of last year we got a port of the game on the Nintendo Wii. Which for a time brought back some of the N64 nostalgia. Well Activision announced today that they will release GoldenEye 007: Reloaded. Only this time on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, chock full of upgraded features. With its official announcement we have an HD trailer to feast your eyes on. Along with a boatload of HD pics and 60fps of awesome-sauce. Read More...

Comic Con 2010: The Sights And Sounds
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of August 2010 - 10:36 PM ]
Now that Comic Con 2010 is a thing of the not too distant past, let's take a moment to reflect back on everything that happened there. Or at least everything that myself and the AggroGamer crew got to see and experience there - albeit with a caveat. That caveat being that I am only going to place the pics and videos of the fan stuff. So don't expect to see skimpy cos-play below. What you will see is some of the stuff for Thor - both video game and film, some of the filming set for The Walking Dead, randomness from around the show floor and a butt load from Tron. Read More...
