Nintendo and Universal Parks are teaming up to bring us all the Nintendo experiences we want in the real world It looks like all of us who ever wanted to wander into any of Nintendo's properties are going to be able to do just that sometime in the near future. It was announced that Nintendo is now partnering up with Universal Parks to bring some of their huge IPs to said parks around the world to let us all experience what a day in the life of Mario Mario would be like. A new 'features' trailer for Mario Kart 8 shows off levels, characters, and tracks. I'll be honest that I had no clue that we were up to Mario Kart 8 now. I am also not the biggest Nintendo gamer as of the last few years so it is easy to see how that may have fallen through the crack of my attention. None the less Mario Kart 8 is coming out later this month (May) and there is a new trailer showing off all of the cool new stuff that is going to be in the game. I think the Joker summed up the past few years of video games quite well, with his famous saying "Why So Serious!?" It seems that today's industry has dropped the light-hearted and comical games of yester-years for a more gritty, hardcore, and serious tone. While I'm not saying these "serious" games are bad, I am saying that a break from them would be much appreciated. Nintendo has revealed the release date and the pricing of the Wii U. The Wii U will release in North America on November 18th. The Wii U will be sold in to forms a basic set for $299.99 and a Deluxe set for $349.99 and comes with a free game called Nintendo Land. Check below for information on which each set includes. In 2006 Nintendo released the Wii which was the successor to the GameCube. The Wii had huge success in both China and North America. The Wii quickly outsold the PS3 and the XBox 360 at its low price point of $249.99 at launch. After 6 years Nintendo is planning to release their new console the Wii U sometime this year. With the previous announcement of the unveiling of a new console at E3 this year, it was really only a matter of time before the Nintendo Wii had an announcement of a price break. Today (5/4/11) Nintendo revealed the new packaging and price structures of the Nintendo Wii. Available in white or black, Nintendo plans on implementing the $149.99 price point on May 15th. Today, Nintendo announced new holiday bundles to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. release on the NES. Going "Mario-red," the new Wii and DSi XL will each have Mario games bundled in with them to complete the experience.
