For those who don’t know what this list is all about, let me fill you in. This is a list of all of our, the staff and readers of AggroGamer, favorite boss fights. Our Favorite Boss Fights Ever - Part 1
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 19th of February 2013 - 08:10 PM ]
This is a collective list from the staff and readers on who, or what, their favorite boss battle in a video game is and why. It doesn't matter what genre or what boss, all that matters is if it's your favorite or not. It can be the boss that made you want to break your controller but you found yourself screaming "hallelujah" when you beat them. The boss that made your jaw drop when they hit "Phase II" or transformed into their true form. Hell, it can be the boss that just holds a special place in your heart. Read More...

Why So Serious?
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 23rd of October 2012 - 10:27 PM ]
I think the Joker summed up the past few years of video games quite well, with his famous saying "Why So Serious!?" It seems that today's industry has dropped the light-hearted and comical games of yester-years for a more gritty, hardcore, and serious tone. While I'm not saying these "serious" games are bad, I am saying that a break from them would be much appreciated. Video games are not all about world wars, political sabotaging, or saving the world from a cliché ultimate evil. We came from a very humble beginning, a beginning of stomping on weird brown monsters, using rainbows to squash bugs, and controlling fat pink things that suck up anything in their path. Read More...

by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 15th of August 2012 - 04:50 PM ]
Alright guys, welcome to Aggrogamer's new monthly (weekly?) segment called "The Old School" where we play the classics of yesteryear and past generations and review them. Since this is new, it is also subject to change and I'm giving that power to you guys. Would you rather keep the "review" style or go for a "Play through / Walkthrough" style with commentary? We're also taking suggestions for the next game we do. Leave a comment below to let us know. Read More...

Does Nintendo Make Kid Games Or Games For People Of All Ages?
by Brian Goodman [ Tuesday, 25th of May 2010 - 05:51 PM ]
So I was reading an opinion piece on Kotaku all about how Shigeru Miyamoto thinks he makes game that appeal to people of all ages - not just kids. The writer of the Kotaku piece made the comparison between Nintendo and Pixar, who has made arguably the best animated films of all time that are characteristically appealing to young children and adults alike. Something didn't feel right to me about that comparison. As a HUGE fan of Pixar I thought to myself; what makes Pixar films successful? Read More...

Review: New Super Mario Bros. Wii
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 8th of December 2009 - 03:55 PM ]
You know the storyline.  You know the tricks.  But how is it still so fun?  New Super Mario Bros. Wii is another smash hit in a long line of Mushroom Kingdom mayhem courtesy of Nintendo.  Staying with their desire for accessibility, Nintendo took all the ideas and concepts that made the original Super Mario Bros. 2D platforming franchise a success and used that as the base for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Fifty One: No GNitro? No Problem...we think
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 25th of November 2009 - 05:28 PM ]
The crew is back minus Michael as he is in the land of the Crimson Tide. Brian and Binh are joined once again by Shannon (moepower). They talk about how much they miss Mike, give a lot of love to Oblivion and have a discussion about GameInformer magazine's top 200 video games of all time. We also discuss the games we have been playing (or not playing in Shannon's case), including Lego Rock Band, Torchlight, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Modern Warfare 2 and more. On Bargain Binh this week, Binh rolls out the doorbusters you must hit on Black Friday, On the DL has Brian gushing more love on a casual game that finally made it to the PSN, and Shannon pulls a hilarious TV series for the Netflix Pix. by Michael Camacho [ Thursday, 19th of November 2009 - 03:17 AM ]
The crew is here and celebrating their 50th episode. To kick off the celebration the right way, we brought back Michael's old co-host, Moepower (Shannon). We started off the episode perfectly as Shannon revealed her 360 just RRODed as we began the show. We then go ahead and check out what we've been playing, to include Dragon Age, Torchlight, New Super Mario Brothers and a lengthy discussion on Modern Warfare 2. Bargain Binh brings us a PlayStation 3 exclusive for just under $25, Brian takes on the DL, highlighting Nintendo's recent decision to release WiiWare demos, and Michael brings Korean Horror to Netflix Pix. E3 Impressions: New Super Mario Bros. Wii
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 8th of June 2009 - 09:34 PM ]
A new Mario game was anticipated by the crowd as we all filed into the Nintendo E3 Media Briefing last Tuesday.  Many, including myself, were looking for a new Super Mario Galaxy, which we did receive.  That was not until much later in the show.  Well before that announcement was the announcement of the New Super Mario Bros. Wii.  More of a party game than a solo adventure, though it could be played that way, New Super Mario Bros. Read More...
