I think the Joker summed up the past few years of video games quite well, with his famous saying "Why So Serious!?" It seems that today's industry has dropped the light-hearted and comical games of yester-years for a more gritty, hardcore, and serious tone. Well, after beating the campaign for the first time and having my jaw drop to the floor in shock, I think it's time we start discussing what could be improved for the third installment of Borderlands. I first experienced Borderlands 2 at PAX East, where I got to play the demo and see some of the new features it had to offer. Five months later, I am running through the game with the excitement of a little boy picking out his presents at a toy store. I am sure we all remember back when Dead Island was first announced and the trailer that came with it. I am sure you do. It had people welling up with tears over a fictional family that was on the island of Banoi when the outbreak happened. Just when you think things might be going well in the world of Dead Island you find out things just got worse. Recently there was a bit more revealed about the upcoming sequel, Dead Island: Riptide, including some screens. In this reveal we find out that all of the survivors, Playable Character, are on their way to safety and then thrust onto a new island of the dead. Ain't that some shit? Since Borderlands 2 is coming out in just over a few weeks, I felt it would be good to give you guys the low down and all the info that we know about Borderlands 2. Borderlands 2 has probably got to be one of the biggest sequels coming to market this year and yours truly here got a nice 30 minute hands on with the game. Not only that, but I got hands on with the Assassin class that has yet to be playable until E3. Well at least to the general public that is. Borderlands 2 is a massive improvement from the first installment. The controls are super smooth and tight. The feeling of level grinding seems to have disappeared, thankfully. Having other colors in the game, rather than just brown, has really showed off the rich and beautiful landscape that the world of Pandora has to offer. I got to play as the new Siren in the game: Maya. Her special ability stuns her enemies in a blackish purple vortex allowing you to get off some free shots. Read More...

Well it only took a little over a month, but LittleBigPlanet Karting can now be considered announced. It has a new trailer and screens to say so as well even though it was pretty much "leaked" a while back. I know…I know… But when we all first heard about the game and saw the first images it was outside the pre-defined PR timeline for when it was to be truly announced. That is now. The guys over at Gearbox Software have released a new trailer for their upcoming sequel to their smash hit Borderlands simply titled Borderlands 2. I loved playing Borderlands, the questlines; the stories and the loot were all hilariously amazing. Not to mention it has one of my favorite zombie stories ever, Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC which is just how a zombie story should be. So correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Sony already had a title that was pretty much LittleBigPlanet Karting. Or at least what one can assume that LBPK will be all about. You know a little game called ModNation Racers. A racing game that also focuses on the ability to Play, Create and Share. So what is up with this new announcement? If you are like me you might be curious on the motivations of antagonists in films and games. I mean not ever villain is like the Joker who just does messed up stuff for the sake of doing it. There is usually a motivation behind their actions. Well it looks like next month we all will get the chance to see what Ryder White had planned besides just trying to save his wife and self. According to the announcement the DLC, aptly titled Ryder White, will add several hours of game play where you will actually play as White. With the beginning of the end of the world behind us a bit, we at Aggrogamer would like to share with you guys what we are most looking forward to in the next year. So without further adieu here are the games we're most excited about in 2012. Darksiders II Developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ, Darksiders II takes place during the same time period as the original Darksiders; players will be taking control of Death who is War's fellow horseman and brother. Featuring a new location that is said to be twice as big as the original game, a single quest hub will be connecting to a numerous amount of dungeons, one certain city area will feature more dungeons than the original Darksiders. So I'd feel like I was not doing things right here if I didn't tell you that this is more of a hands on with Alan Wake: American Nightmare's new game mode, Fight 'til Dawn. There wasn't much to look at or play around with in the single player mode at CES outside of the few tidbits below. So there is that out there. Now let me get into what I did get to play around with.
