More Songs Revealed For Dance Central
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 17th of August 2010 - 04:43 PM ]
Today more songs were revealed for Harmonix's Dance Central at Gamescom 2010. Currently one of the only games worth purchasing Microsoft's Kinect, Dance Central combines music, fun and dancing to create an experience unlike any other. I know that phrase is used an awful lot in this industry, but after experiencing it for myself at E3, I can definitively say I will purchase a XBox 360 and a Kinect specifically for this title. With today's announcement, the song list increases to 20. With only 30+ songs promised on the disc, you may be concerned about the depth of the roster, but with a list that now includes Rihanna's "Pon de Replay" and Technotronic's "Pump Up the Jam", I don't think you have too much to worry about. Review: Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of August 2010 - 02:39 PM ]
Last we left this extremely odd couple, they were fleeing for their life with Kane's daughter not too well off. Now, from what you have seen so far of the story, it is years later and the two seem to have become closer even over international lines. At least it seems they are closer because I know I wouldn't want to go meet up with a psychopath that moved to China unless I had a better bond than "We Broke Out Of Jail Together." In any instance, the duo is back and ready to cut a new deal to finally get Kane out of the life of crime. Only with their luck, things are just not that simple. Read More…

Epic Mickey Opening Cinematic Released
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 16th of August 2010 - 11:27 PM ]
I had no idea what I was in for when I took the controls to play Epic Mickey at E3 2010. It did not take long for me to realize that the "epic" in the title was well earned. So, after taking command of one of the most recognizable characters in the world and playing for 15 minutes - creating and destroying at will - I was sold on Warren Specter's latest project. Today, I watched the just-released, jaw-dropping opening cinematic and I have gone from being sold to being ready to play it now. Take a look for yourself below and tell me you aren't just itching to play*. Read More…

Now That Revolt From Deus Ex Can Be Seen
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of August 2010 - 09:07 PM ]
Earlier, we got to see some new screen shots for Deus Ex. Really nice shots. In fact, to me they looked like they were taken from another hi-res trailer we would be getting in the near future. You know what? I was partially right. That is, in the fact that we have a new "trailer" to look at for the game. Only thing is, it is not a hi-res clip but an in-game clip. A clip that you can see below once I am done telling you about it. Read More…

Tropico 4 Announced
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 16th of August 2010 - 06:34 PM ]
On Friday, it was announced that Haemimont Games plans to build on their success in the strategy game genre with Tropico 4. This announcement is not a complete shock as its predecessor was well received by both critics and consumers alike. The series hits a fairly specific audience as you tackle being "El Presidente," a ruler of a small tropical island. Armed with the hopes of being a powerhouse nation, you decide how you will make this happen - whether that is politically, diplomatically, economically or militarily. The simulation-strategy genre has many different development houses that cater to a wide range of scenarios. Read More…

Review: Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World - The Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of August 2010 - 04:26 PM ]
The epic of epic epicness has finally hit the big screens after its popular start as a graphic novel. What better way to cash in on the fame than to make a video game based on it all too. Not only that, but a video game that captures the same look and feel of the graphic novel and film at that. This is what Ubisoft thought too by pitching the game in the fashion of a Mega Man 2 style. I am sure all of this already appeals to those of you who love comics and "retro" games, but let's break it down and see if Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World - The Game can actually take on the gaming world. Read More…

Despite reports that the AggroCast team is dead, we are still alive and kicking...and playing games to boot. While we catch up on our lives during this summer, you too can catch up with some previously unreleased episodes of the AggroCast. This list includes some of the latest games from Bethesda and Square-Enix's Final Fantasy XIV. Read More…

Costume Quest Makes That Transformers Costume Real
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of August 2010 - 07:06 PM ]
While it is not a game with a great overall concept like Brütal Legend, Costume Quest is just about what we have come to expect from Tim Schafer's studio Double Fine. Oh wait, you don't know what Costume Quest is? Let me give you the run down. Costume Quest is a rollicking Adventure/Role-Playing game that unfolds on Halloween night across seemingly peaceful suburban neighborhoods, a mysterious village carnival, and a monster-infested shopping mall. Created by Double Fine's lead animator, Tasha Harris, the game follows the adventure of a group of young friends who must rid their neighborhood of monsters using only their wits, their bravery, and their home-made costumes. Players go door-to-door collecting candy, points, cards, battle stamps and quest assignments as they prepare themselves for Combat Mode-where they transform into larger-than-life versions of their costumes. Get Your Head Up In The Clouds With BioShock Infinte
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of August 2010 - 02:08 PM ]
BioShock fans can rejoice, at least a little bit. While the final DLC pack for BioShock 2 is on its way here in the coming months, it has been officially been announced that the franchise will live on. Even though we will have to wait until 2012 for the next incarnation, the previously dubbed Project Icarus has been revealed. Welcome to BioShock Infinite. While I do say next incarnation, BioShock Infinite is not a sequel in terms of story though. Read More…

Ninjas & Robots Team Up, Nothing Good Can Come Of This
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of August 2010 - 06:11 PM ]
Instead of facing off in a bloody, futuristic main event, like they should have, 2K Games and Gearbox are teaming up to show their post-apocalyptic supremacy over everything. At least that is the premise behind the new DLC for Borderlands - Claptrap's New Robot Revolution. Wait, you didn't know there is some new DLC rolling out for Borderlands? Well consider this a nice little daily double, even though it is all wrapped into one package. /MindBlown I'll give you a moment to collect your thoughts again. Read More…

SOE Fan Faire Hands On: Magic: The Gathering - Tactics
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of August 2010 - 09:36 PM ]
While wandering about the show floor of SOE's Fan Faire, I stumbled upon something I have not had a good look at in almost a decade: Magic: The Gathering. You know, that collectible trading card game that was all the rage back in the early to mid-90's. Well, at least it was all the rage in the circles I rolled in. It had been such a long time since I had any solid contact with this franchise. I knew there have been umpteen expansions for the card game as well as a few PC games released around the franchise, but it wasn't until I got a good look at Magic: The Gathering - Tactics that I felt myself being pulled back into the universe.
