Here's Why You Should Get The Darkness II

The Darkness II takes place two years after the first game, Jackie has gone from a mob hit man to the don of the family. Jackie has had the Darkness subdued for a couple years until he is attacked by an organization called "The Brotherhood" who know all of the Darkness' strengths and its weakness.

The game features dynamic A.I. which means if you're facing mob henchmen, then they're going to act like henchmen: Unorganized, and inexperienced. But if you go up against some members of The Brotherhood then you best get ready for a real fight. The Brotherhood has special member who carry these big light cannons on their shoulders and they just hang out in the back of the fight and keep it shined on Jackie. When Jackie is in light he is unable to use his darkness powers, which is not a good thing. Add the fact that these enemies are highly trained and extremely organized, makes them a deadly foe. You'll get flanked faster than you can realize it.

There is also the amazing feature of "Quad-wielding" which allows the player to not only dual wield weapons but also use the tentacles the darkness provides. So in a gunfight you can go trigger happy and then rip off a car door and use it as a shield, or take out enemies in the distance with a hail of Uzi bullets and then rip the enemies in front of you to shreds with your Darkness powers. Some other Darkness powers include a Black Hole which does exactly what a black hole does, and there is also "Gun Channeling" which allows you to channel the Darkness into your weapons, empowering them to shoot through walls and gives you the ability to see through walls.

The Darkness 2 features about four different talent trees that cater to different play styles. If you want to run and gun, you can spend your Darkness points (which you get from eating hearts, killing enemies as well as executing them) on that specific tree. Eating Hearts also replenishes Jackie's health.

The thing I am most excited for with The Darkness II would have to be the continuing story and the co-op mode. I enjoyed the first game so much, and I've been waiting eagerly for this one to come out and now it's here.

The co-op in The Darkness II has you playing one of four unique characters that have special Darkness weapons, like a tomahawk that when thrown can return to its wielder or a Darkness infused shotgun. The co-op story ties in with the main campaign of the game. For example, Jackie is looking for a certain guy and asks his friend to help find him. Jackie's friend then asks you and your party to find the man Jackie is looking for.
