In my travels through the often harsh lands of television, I have come across what might be one of the most amazing things I have ever laid my eyes on: A symphony covering video game themes. If you guys don't already know "Video Games Live" is one part rock concert, one part festival, one part classical symphony concert and all parts amazing. Video Games Live is the brainchild of the legendary video game composers Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall, featuring an immersive event with music from your favorite video games performed by top orchestras and choirs. Video Games Live Lives In Your Living Room

Popular concert series Video Games Live has announced a crazy line-up of the of some of the most familiar and epic video game soundtracks for a new 90-minute special they are filming for PBS. Now, Video Games Live has been around for a while and is the brainchild of game music composer Tommy Tallirico and Jack Wall. For the unitiated, Video Games Live consists of video game music performed by a live orchestra with game footage and different lighting effects to coincide with the footage. This version of the concert will include music from the Super Mario, Zelda, Sonic, Halo, Warcraft, Final Fantasy, Castlevania, God of War, Civilization, Chrono Cross, StarCraft and Guitar Hero franchises, and will also be "including a musical journey through Classic Gaming". VIDEO GAMES LIVE ANNOUNCES 45 MORE TOUR DATES! For those of you who did not get a chance to see this show the first time around, or second, or third, there is some good news for you. Video Games Live should be rolling by somewhere near you soon. At least close enough for a short weekend jaunt out to the closest location. I mean look below. VIDEO GAMES LIVE ALBUM DEBUTS AT #10 ON THE BILLBOARD CHARTS! So I was going to write another review on the Comic Con Video Games Live show, but I saw this and thought this was a better way to say how cool it was. I will point out that it is a different show depending on where you see it, the show in San Diego had fireworks and a different game they played on stage. Video Games Live Ok, so first let me say, if you haven't heard of this show or had no interest in going, I would say look into it or re-think it. It may not sound all that awesome when you first hear about it, but it was probably one of the best shows I have seen in quite some time. Worth braving the heat and a little bit of sun here in Vegas to go see it as well. If that gives you any inkling on how good it is.
