Popular concert series Video Games Live has announced a crazy line-up of the of some of the most familiar and epic video game soundtracks for a new 90-minute special they are filming for PBS. Now, Video Games Live has been around for a while and is the brainchild of game music composer Tommy Tallirico and Jack Wall. For the unitiated, Video Games Live consists of video game music performed by a live orchestra with game footage and different lighting effects to coincide with the footage. This version of the concert will include music from the Super Mario, Zelda, Sonic, Halo, Warcraft, Final Fantasy, Castlevania, God of War, Civilization, Chrono Cross, StarCraft and Guitar Hero franchises, and will also be "including a musical journey through Classic Gaming". Video Games Live Ok, so first let me say, if you haven't heard of this show or had no interest in going, I would say look into it or re-think it. It may not sound all that awesome when you first hear about it, but it was probably one of the best shows I have seen in quite some time. Worth braving the heat and a little bit of sun here in Vegas to go see it as well. If that gives you any inkling on how good it is.
