E3 2010 Impressions: Mortal Kombat

As surprises come, a revitalization of Mortal Kombat was one thing I was not expecting until just before E3. You know when the crazy short popped up online followed by the new teaser trailer for Mortal Kombat. You know what I am talking about. If you didn't you would not have clicked on this article. With all that buzz just days before the event you would expect to have something to show at E3 for it, and boy did they. Nothing playable for anyone on the show floor, but those lucky enough to have a meeting or willing to stand in line for over an hour to get in to the 15 minute showing got a great glimpse of what is going on with the new Mortal Kombat game. *Sound Of Pants Getting Moist* … … … … … … … … … … … But Seriously. Since it was announced through a need to Platinum God Of War III, God of War: Ghost of Sparta has been a title on my radar with a HUGE blip. It is God of War game, after all, but it is also a God of War on the PSP again. Not that the first wasn't great, but will a PSP follow up to the superstar God of War III be as good? My fanboyism aside, from what I got to get my hands on in the Sony booth, this will be another winner for the franchise. Read More...

E3 2010 Hands-On: The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword

It started with a rush of excitement from the crowd in the Nokia Theatre on Tuesday morning and proceeded throughout E3. A brand-new Legend of Zelda was coming to the Nintendo Wii. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the Wii Motion Plus-based adventure fans have been clamoring for since the little white box’s inception. Not much of the story has been released for Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, but judging by the reaction at the Nintendo Press Conference and how long people were willing to wait in line to experience the brief demo at E3, that is not a concern…yet. There Is Hope In The Old Republic

E3 2010: Stock full of Trailers

So apparently, waiting was not on the agenda in the days prior to E3 opening. What I mean by that is just the other day on Spike TV - they had their pre-E3 show where they showed a lot of the new trailers that previously, we would have had to wait until the actual show to see these trailers. But since we all live on the Internet, instant gratification is all we have time for anymore. So How Is Gears Of War 3 Looking These Days

Something we have all been thinking since the announcement back in April. Yea there have been a few shots before, but here we go with a few more. A few more that are extremely stunning and blood filled. Nothing to the level of Splatterhouse in terms of blood and gore, but still. I will have to say that things are looking to progressing very well. At least in the graphics department. Spawn More Overlord, Mass Effect Style

A new DLC is "coming soon" for one of this year's major titles. Of course I am talking about Mass Effect 2. Today BioWare has announced the Overload DLC for XBox 360 and PC. When sent to investigate a Cerberus research base that's mysteriously gone silent, Shepard arrives to find Geth overrunning the base. The sole survivor Chief Scientist Archer, pains a dire picture: an experiment to fuse a human volunteer with a virtual intelligence created a hybrid “VI overlord”. The rampaging VI has already attacked three other Cerberus bases, controlling any technology it finds in an attempt to break free-and unleashing Geth across the planet. Read More...

Sony Gets Another Star Wars MMO

Sony Online Entertainment is no stranger to the Star Wars Universe, but I guess they couldn't wait any longer for BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO. Frankly neither can we. SOE is going live today with their latest MMO title - Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures. Sony's new Clone Wars title is geared specifically for the younger generation of Star Wars fans, and avid watchers of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series on Cartoon Network. Obviously with Sony's success with the Free Realms franchise, kids and micro-transactions go together like peanut butter and bananas. Mass Effect The Movie

Well this news came sooner than I could ever realized. According to G4tv.com, Legendary Pictures just picked up the rights to make a feature film based on Mass Effect. As we speak they are in discussions with the screen writers from I Am Legend and Thor to produce the screenplay. Now you may be wondering who will be producing the film? You will be happy to know that BioWare's co-founder and VP, Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, along with Mass Effect executive producer, Casey Hudson, will serve as executive producers for the film. Tickets For Blizzcon 2010 Announced

Blizzcon 2010 returns to the Anaheim Conventions center October 22nd and 23rd, and tickets are going on sale Wednesday, June 2nd at 7 pm PST and on Saturday June 5th at 10 am PST. Blizzard has learned from the past Blizzcon's the overwhelming response from the player community, and will be selling tickets in batches, to give everyone an opportunity to get in on the action.
