Green Lantern: Rise Of The Manhunters, Potentially Good Or Flop?

Recently I had a conversation with a few people on movie tie-in games and if they could ever be any good. As was to be expected, the conclusion was generally not likely. There have been so many crappy movie tie-in games put out there, most of which to suck more money out of the consumer. But every now and then there are a few that are not just utter crap. For me, they are usually the games that are not rushed to meet a film's release date and TRULY expand on the overall story of the film. Up Close And Personal With Mortal Kombat's Shang Tsung

It wouldn't be Mortal Kombat without Shang Tsung. We all know he is in the game, but wouldn't you like to see/hear his story in this outing? How different can it be from all of the older titles? Ah The Mean Streets Of L.A. Noire...

There is nothing like see the dirty underbelly of the streets and police force. It totally gives me the warm and fuzzy feeling in my belly. For once, one of the trailers for L.A. Noire has actually been able to get me to lose some doubt. Well, at least the doubt in how the audio mixes in with the visuals. As I have said before, to me the audio seems just way too high quality when mixed in. Not that either the visuals and audio are bad, but they just didn't seem to meld well. Read More...

It's Time For Mortal Kombat!

It is official. Mortal Kombat has gone gold. We no longer have to worry about major delays or cancelations. Not that we were at all. It is no Duke Nukem Forever or anything. Am I right? Huh? Huh…? Now as we wait for April 19th to slowly work its way to us, we get to pass the time looking at screens and videos. That is if you have played the demo to death since it came out. Dungeon Siege III Katarina Video

Dungeon Siege III is a little more than two months away and I can hardly contain my excitement. We recently got a video highlighting the latest ally that will be available in game and this girl is fierce. Katarina Vignette is a ranged death dealing machine and the third ally to be announced. Trained in the ways of nomads, she uses Guns, Magic and a black hound to pretty much eviscerate her enemies. The 10th legion did well when they recruited her. Expect some awesome pistol play, and some very cool shotgun animations, which are really highlighted in the following video. Read More...

The Unofficial Character Roster For Mortal Kombat

So if you had any questions on exactly who is going to be in Mortal Kombat, you may be able to get a look now as it may have been leaked out. As of this article, there has been no word on how official this image and roster is so do not get overly excited as of yet. I mean it does look pretty spot on from all the videos and announcements, not to mention it would be an amazing fake, but I'm waiting for word from Warner Bros. or NetherRealm first. Review: Killzone 3

Here we go again. It's time to try and end this conflict between the I.S.A. and the Helghast once and for all. Picking up right after the events of Killzone 2, we are thrust right back into the mix of it in Killzone 3. All to meet the end of saving Earth from the new tech and tactics of the Helghast who are still hell-bent on doing just that. Outside of being a continuation, Killzone 3 is also one of the titles that Sony seems to be relying on to show off their tech and hardware capabilities. So outside of pleasing fans of the franchise, Guerrilla Games and Sony have a lot on their plate as far as expectations. Read More...

Duke Nukem Delayed Again: Much Shorter This Time

Duke Nukem Forever being delayed again is like a nerd with a pocket protector - you know the joke, everyone knows the joke and the best you can muster is a half-hearted smile in one corner of your mouth in recognition the joke even existed. So, the fact 2K and Gearbox went with a more tongue-in-cheek approach to the announcement shows a true effort in good faith to the game and the franchise as a whole. June 14th is not that much longer to wait and I'm certain the extra time will be used wisely. Duke Nukem Forever will be released on XBox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Read More...

Time To See How Kratos Will Handle The Mortal Kombat Universe

PS3 Mortal Kombat fans have been teased too long with the fact that Kratos will be a console exclusive character. Teased with the knowledge, but nothing as far as substantial in-game footage. That is until now as there is a new trailer out showing some of his moves and animations. Color me impressed with this new view of the character. From the looks of trailer, it is fully upgraded Kratos from God of War III that is know fighting against mortals for the pleasure of Shao Kahn and himself. At least that would be the only reason I can see him fighting in the tournament as Kratos really doesn't seem to care what happens to his world. Read More...

X-Men: Destiny Is Going To Be Filled With Teenage Angst

If there already wasn't enough of this or conflict in the X-Universe, it looks like new comer Aimi Yoshida will be bringing her own to X-Men: Destiny. Aimi being the most recent character brought out for the game's character roster. A small Asian female who was "abandoned" by her parents. Granted it was so she was not rounded up with all the other mutants in Japan, but what teenage girl would not hold onto those issues to give her a reason to be bitter and angry? Funny thing is I'd be bitterer about the thing that was forcing the label on me, the mutant power. Her power, from what has been given so far, is that she specializes in efficient mutant power usage. It is time to travel back to the early Burning Times. A time when religious superstition and fears drove many good and innocent people to the gallows or to a public burning at the stake. A time depicted and twisted for Game Republic and Namco Bandai's most recent endeavor, Knights Contract. In Knights Contract you play Heinrich Hofmann, an experienced witch-executioner plagued by a curse of immortality, who charged with the task of protecting a witch by the name of Gretchen as she attempts to save the world. The world is being threatened by a mad scientist, named Dr. Faust, who is trying to gain the same curse Heinrich has, as well as rid the world of witches all together. Read More...

Prey 2 Live Action Trailer

Bethesda Softworks announced this week Prey 2, and the teaser will make you think twice about putting your cell phone on airplane mode. Prey, which was released back in July of 2006, was originally developed by Human Head Studios. Prey followed the sci-fi adventures of Cherokee Domasi "Tommy" Tawodi. The general story was that he, along with Girlfriend and Grandfather, were beamed up to an alien ship known only as The Sphere. The Sphere has this whole Galactacus complex, as it devours all materials, living or inanimate from our tiny blue planet. Read More...

The E.Nigmas Of Batman: Arkham City

In Batman: Arkham Asylum the Riddler had kind of a small role, even though it was one of the larger side missions in the game. It makes sense when you think about the fact that he didn't physically show up at all in the game. This looks like something that Rocksteady is going to be changing when it comes to Arkham City. Hey aspiring artist gamers, wouldn't that be amazing? To get you artwork shown off in one of the largest gaming conventions? Too good to be true is what I am sure you are thinking, but again you have your chance to get your art viewed. The submission period for this year's Into The Pixel exhibit is now open and will be open until April 15th. In case you are in the dark about this, Into The Pixel is an exploration and celebration of the art of video games from around the world that is put on by The Academy of Interactive Arts&Sciences (AIAS) and the Entertainment Software Association (ESA).
