Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is getting a free batch of DLC today with the Tactical Taco Party Pack Good news for those who have picked up Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare or another reason to pick up the game for those who have been holding out. Today (7/1/14) there is a new batch of DLC being released for the game called the Tactical Taco Party Pack and it is completely free to download. Who among us doesn't like the terms free and DLC put together for a game in an age where nickel and diming the consumer is all the rage? None of us hopefully. Read More...

The Walking Dead Escape is coming back to San Diego Comic Con for a third year and is allowing us gamers to try to survive a zombie apocalypse game in real life If there has been one thing that has caught my love over the last few years at San Diego Comic Con it has to be The Walking Dead Escape. If you haven't seen or heard of it or seen it you can see my 2013 run and my 2012 run or you can just look around online as the event is still touring around the country giving all of us gamers a chance to test our mettle in a real live zombie apocalypse of sorts. If you are just one of those lazy people here I'll recap what the event is all about. In a nut shell they people who put on the event take over an arena, mall, or large building structure and do it and its surroundings up as if it was a location from The Walking Dead show or comic. Deep Silver has just announced Escape Dead Island, a third-person survival mystery take on the Dead Island franchise from Fatshark Just in case you couldn't wait for some hardcore zombie killing action in Dead Island 2 or Dying Light (Coming 2015™), Deep Silver and Fatshark are bringing us yet another zombie slaying game of sorts with Escape Dead Island. It's not just zombie killing and surviving, but also a game about solving the mystery of what caused the outbreak and keeping your own sanity in the middle of this world crushing event. Also to deviate from the normal Dead Island type of formula is that Escape Dead Island will be in third-person view and with a graphic novel art style instead of the more realistic we are used to. The E3 demo for H1Z1 has been released to the public at large for those who couldn't check it out Just in case you were not able to check out H1Z1 at E3 this year, SOE has given us a quick breakdown of what was shown as well as the state of the game. You'll be able to see it better when you look at the full video below but it is starting to look much better than it has in weeks past. Not to mention that the crafting system is given more time in the limelight and explains how you make all the cool little zombie killing things in H1Z1. Not only that, but we get to see the dynamic world that we can alter once we get in and start playing. Read More...

HEXO+, a Kickstarted camera accessory, has been funded and it looks like it is making that Razer April Fools' joke happen If you remember back in April, Razer made a joke about a drone that would film all of your life events and even make you feel like you were in a video game. That was the joke but it looks like with the HEXO+ Kickstarter almost reaching its last stretch goal with 15 days to go, we are getting just that device. While the HEXO+ wasn't originally designed for that purpose the first two stretch goals would allow for just that; a live video playback on your phone and the ability to set up specific angles. While Razer made the joke, HEXO+ looks to be making that amazing idea a reality. Read More...

Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries to be at Gamescom and playable in the consumer area for the first time to the public If Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries sounds familiar but you can't place your finger on it, it was showcased during the ID@Xbox montage during the Microsoft press conference on June 9th. Some of you may have heard about the game before that, have a free cookie, but to the public at large that was one of the largest showcasing of the game to date. It was announced a little under a year ago so it is pretty cool for the developers to get the showing at E3 and now Woolfe is getting a nice playable version at Gamescom. That might not be all that cool for a lot of us who will not be able to make the adventure to Gamescom, assuming most of my readers are in the North American region of course, but that does mean that we will be seeing more video from Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries soon. A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming This has been some week in terms of gaming news. It was a bit expected but not to the lull that it has been in the wake of E3. That of course didn't stop us from gathering up what we could find to update all of you with. Everything from the large titles like Batman: Arkham Knight to the smaller like Slow Down Bull. We got you covered pretty damn well here. It would defeat the purpose of giving you a recap of everything if I went over everything right now so I'll let you pick and choose what you want to see. A new 'summer' trailer has been released for Space Hulk: Deathwing coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC If you have an illness and the only cure is more space marines then look no further than Space Hulk: Deathwing. This is the latest in the Space Hulk franchise, at least in the video game world, and it definitely looks like it is going to have a cure for that illness. As if there weren't already enough of those franchises coming out later this year or in 2015 but different stokes for different folks I guess. You can take that phrase in whatever way you want but I meant it in the most Puritanical way that I know. Read More...

A new 'dev diary' of sorts has been released showing off how Hello Games made it to the stage that No Man's Sky is currently at If there was one title that I kept hearing about at E3 but knew very little about it was No Man's Sky. I saw the trailer shown during the VGX show and then again during the Sony Press Conference but that was about the extent of my knowledge of the game. It started to seem that everyone and their Mother's Sister's Cousin's former Roommate knew way more than I ever could about No Man's Sky even with the little bit that we have all seen. It seemed like there was a bit that I had yet to know. Read More...

With the E3 demo for Styx: Master Of Shadows being released we can see how it can be a better Thief game than Thief turned out to be Here we go with Styx: Master Of Shadows, yet another little gem I missed out on at E3 due to time constraints. Luckily, like many other titles, the demos and gameplay didn't stay at the convention for long and now we get a nice 14 minute look at the gameplay for Styx: Master Of Shadows. This title has only recently made it onto my Gamedar and that makes me a little sad. Just by watching this gameplay demo alone would have been enough before to get my interest going but I am only one being and my attentions are already drawn all over. Read More...

Recently Chris Ashton from Turtle Rock Studios revealed that there will be a single-player campaign in Evolve It would seem that I was a bit confused before when it came to Evolve and the play modes of the game. I was under the impression that it was a multiplayer experience through and through. Looks like I was wrong as Turtle Rock has only focused on showing the multiplayer aspect of Evolve and kind of pushed the solo play to the side lines. That was until a few quotes from Chris Ashton (Design Director) let fly out into the world of the internet directly pointed at the single-player experience. Here's what Mr. Read More...

Namco Bandai has announced Godzilla coming to the PS3 in Japan this winter No, this isn't a late announcement for Godzilla as the most recent "reboot" has already come and gone from theaters here in North America. It is an announcement for Godzilla that will be coming to PS3s in Japan though. Hopefully in other regions without the need for modding or hacking the hardware but there have been no announcements to date. In fact, there isn't even all that much short of the following trailer and a few bits from Famitsu. Here is what is known so far for all you foreign readers or hopeful locals. Read More...

A new developer diary has been released for The Order: 1886 and it takes us behind the scenes of the war between Humans and the Half-Breeds It was revealed at E3 that there would be Lycans in The Order: 1886 and now we get to see how they "evolved" and have gone to war in the game. It is sounding very Underworld-like now but it still doesn't mean this isn't looking to be a fun and exciting game. None the less, Ready At Dawn has given us a nice long look at how they designed the monsters as well as the mentality behind building the Lycans for The Order: 1886. Yea, still doesn't sit right when I say that. Read More...

inFAMOUS: First Light, The Stand Alone Prequel To inFAMOUS: Second Son, Has A Release Date This Coming August It was announced during the Sony Press Conference and it looks like we will not be waiting too long for inFAMOUS: First Light. That would be the prequel to inFAMOUS: Second Son where we will take control of Fetch as she sets out to take down Curdun Cay. For those non-inFAMOUS fans Curdun Cay would be the detention facility for everyone that has super powers and Fetch would be one of the secondary characters in inFAMOUS: Second Son. That should get everyone up to speed. Read More...

Insomniac Games has announced that they are experimenting with the open development process with a new 'indie' title Slow Down Bull We've seen a bit of "open development" with other studios but it looks like Insomniac Games is giving it a go with Slow Down Bull. By open development I am talking about how some studios have been live streaming the process or conducting Google Hangouts to get gamer feedback as they move forward in the process. This is just the case for Slow Down Bull as it will consist of a team of four to five members of the Insomniac crew making this little PC title over the course of "until it is done". Not much is known for Slow Down Bull as of yet as it was just announced with nothing more than a concept of some key art but here's what we got. Read More...
