Here's What WonderCon Goers Got To See Of Spider-Man Edge Of Time
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 4th of April 2011 - 10:56 PM ]
If you missed the announcement of Spider-Man: Edge Of Time and/or couldn't catch all the goodness shown and spoken of at WonderCon, then are you in for a treat. Those of you who heard the announcement are also in for a treat as we have the first trailer and screens below. It really does have that Shattered Dimensions feel to it doesn't it? I guess it would be easy to just reuse a bunch of the stuff Beenox has already made and just change the story. No reason to remake everything that already worked right? Read More...

Spider-Man Taking A Chrono Trigger Approach With 'Edge Of Time'
by Andy [ Thursday, 31st of March 2011 - 10:45 PM ]
Well isn't this a little bit of interesting. Looks like the team that brought us Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is no longer ok with keeping their game just hopping dimensions, now they want to go through time too with Spider-Man: Edge Of Time. Edge Of Time being the latest title just announced from Beenox, Marvel and Activision. At this time the story for the game is pretty much this: Spider-Man: Edge Of Time challenges the player to take on the roles of both classic Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 to correct a time-stream gone awry and prevent a catastrophic future brought on by the early and untimely death of Peter Parker. So it's like they just wanted to toss out two of the other dimensions from the previous game and try time travel. Read More...

X-Men: Destiny Is Going To Be Filled With Teenage Angst
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 22nd of March 2011 - 10:13 PM ]
If there already wasn't enough of this or conflict in the X-Universe, it looks like new comer Aimi Yoshida will be bringing her own to X-Men: Destiny. Aimi being the most recent character brought out for the game's character roster. A small Asian female who was "abandoned" by her parents. Granted it was so she was not rounded up with all the other mutants in Japan, but what teenage girl would not hold onto those issues to give her a reason to be bitter and angry? Funny thing is I'd be bitterer about the thing that was forcing the label on me, the mutant power. Her power, from what has been given so far, is that she specializes in efficient mutant power usage. The Softer Side Of [Prototype 2]...Kind Of
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 15th of March 2011 - 10:00 PM ]
I don't know what it is about trailers like the one below for [Prototype 2], but I find them fun even though they don't really show off much. I think it is the violent content set to easy listening music that I find just awesomely funny. That's a word isn't it? Awesomely. It is for my purposes now if you don't think it is. Continuing on, here is yet another tease for the game that is still slated for a 2012 release. It pretty much shows Sergeant James Heller toss a Blackwatch guard across the city and we get to watch the slow motion flight. Read More...

Could We Be Seeing Modern Warfare 3 At GDC?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of February 2011 - 05:22 PM ]
So we are either going to get a look at the next billion dollar game from Activision or one of the best pranks run on fans of the Modern Warfare franchise. A new site, findmakarov.com, has begun to be passed around the net. It doesn't feature anything stating Modern Warfare 3 on it but it does have a countdown with the franchise know font face. Not to mention the site name does link back to the "villain" of Modern Warfare 2. In all actuality, this is most likely a nice little tease for what Activision is going to show off at GDC. With Karate You Can Kick Helicopter Ass In Prototype 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 24th of February 2011 - 10:43 PM ]
Ok, so you could really do it in the first [Prototype] but in [Prototype 2] it looks to have been super charged in the new "teaser" that has made its way to the web. It may not be showing much but the game is still a least a year out from launch so what do you expect Radical Entertainment to give us? I mean we should all be surprised that there is a sequel coming out in the first place given the actions of Activision lately. I'm guessing that we should be ready to see even more of these over the next year just to cause some buzz for the game. Read More...

Isaac Isn't The Only One Fighting Through The Sprawl Of Dead Space 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 23rd of February 2011 - 09:29 PM ]
You know one thing I noticed when playing through Dead Space 2, and the other Dead Space titles for that matter? The lack of other real "hero" types on the ship or Sprawl. Yea Extraction and Ignition had other protagonists, but for the most part they turned out not as heroic as Isaac. I mean Ignition had 2 scenarios where Franco kills Sarah in cold blood. Then you have McNeill in Extraction that seems to have been turned into a Necromorph in the epilogue of the game.* Well, come this March 1st we will get to see another protagonist, from Extraction, try to fit into Isaac's Rig to add another two chapters to Dead Space 2. Petroglyph Games, the studio behind Guardians Of Graxia and the highly anticipated End Of Nations, just announced a new free-to-play online micro-transaction title called Rise Of Immortals. With promises of new features and a slew of content after launch, RoI could be a powerhouse in the Battle Arena. Rise Of Immortals is a Defense Of The Ancient (DotA)/Massively Online Battle Arena (MOBA) style game. The story takes place in the world of Graxia 300 years after their strategy PC game Guardians Of Graxia. Read More...

Let's Take The Dead Island Challenge
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 17th of February 2011 - 09:43 PM ]
Yesterday when the trailer for Dead Island hit the internet it caused a huge sensation. It is quite a brilliant trailer to behold. I did happen to notice two things about it though. The main thing is that it caused so many emotional responses, most in the form of crying or tearing up. I'm not talking just women either before you go there guys. Be it the mixture of the music and the film style or the fact that you are watching something extremely happy being torn apart by flesh eating monsters. It has some impact. Read More...

Green Lantern Hunts Down Those Pesky Manhunters
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 15th of February 2011 - 07:49 PM ]
So just like the Transformers Game, Green Lantern is getting the same treatment with a video game tie-in. A game nicely titled Green Lantern: Green Lantern: Rise Of The Manhunters and looks to be as tied to the film in every way but overall story. At least the below trailer would lead me to believe that it takes place somewhere mid-way or after the story the upcoming film will have. Here check it out. From the looks of it, Hal will already be versed in the ways of a Lantern to fight the threat. Read More...

Transformers Milking The Dark Of The Moon
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 15th of February 2011 - 04:47 PM ]
I was hoping that we were all beyond this with the epic tea bagging Devastator gave us in the last Transformers film. But I guess Transformers: War For Cybertron did well enough for Activision to look into doing another Transformers game. With that let me present you Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. The next in the line of new Transformers games and a tie-in with the new film from look and sound of it. Why they have switched gears from the new games they have created to the tie-in I have no clue. Well outside of wanting to milk the consumer for more money because of the film. Read More...

Review: Call Of Duty: Black Ops
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 1st of December 2010 - 09:21 PM ]
We've been through WWII and up to Modern Warfare so now it is time to tackle two "wars" that seem to be glanced over by most FPS franchises. Yea, Call of Duty: Black Ops places us deep in the mix of the Vietnam War and the Bay Of Pigs Invasion all in another attempt to stop the Russians from destroying the U.S. This time they are trying it through chemical warfare and biological warfare. Review: DJ Hero 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 18th of November 2010 - 07:50 PM ]
Here we go with another rhythm game coming into the mix of things. Pun totally intended. The game this time is DJ Hero 2. The follow up and expansion on from last year's DJ Hero that let gamers hop into the world of "professional" DJing. Like every other title in the rhythm genre there are some new additions outside of the core track list. Some good, some not so good and some just kind of "What The F**k?" Let me break it all down for you and let you know if you should actually pick up a copy of DJ Hero 2. Read More...
