Comic Con 2011 Impression: Darksiders II
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 27th of July 2011 - 05:35 PM ]
While it was not playable, at least to non-developers, Darksiders II came with the full force of Death at this year's SD Comic Con. Puns always intended here. What did we get to see for the game? We some of the new weapons, game play and a small bit of the story that we will get to play through come next year. Also, if you look below, some amazing art and visuals for the game. Let me break down what I saw and a bit of extra info about it. Read More...

Behind The Scenes With X-Men Destiny
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 25th of July 2011 - 04:12 PM ]
X-Men Destiny is an Action RPG collaboration between Marvel and Activision. With an original story-line where you play as a new mutant within the X-men Universe, players will have the ability to make choices throughout the game, and your "Destiny" will be determined by these RPG style decisions. Marvel and Activision have released two behind the scenes trailers for their upcoming title X-Men Destiny. After the jump you will see the latest trailer, along with two behind the scenes videos. The behind the scenes videos consist of the actors from in-game, Scott porter and Jaimie Chung, explaining a little more about the games characters, Adrian and Aimi, also shedding some light on their background story-lines. Golden Eye 007: Reloaded Announced At Comic-Con '11
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 22nd of July 2011 - 03:09 PM ]
GoldenEye is probably one of the greatest FPS's of all time and as of last year we got a port of the game on the Nintendo Wii. Which for a time brought back some of the N64 nostalgia. Well Activision announced today that they will release GoldenEye 007: Reloaded. Only this time on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, chock full of upgraded features. With its official announcement we have an HD trailer to feast your eyes on. Along with a boatload of HD pics and 60fps of awesome-sauce. Read More...

Comic Con 2010: The Sights And Sounds
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of August 2010 - 10:36 PM ]
Now that Comic Con 2010 is a thing of the not too distant past, let's take a moment to reflect back on everything that happened there. Or at least everything that myself and the AggroGamer crew got to see and experience there - albeit with a caveat. That caveat being that I am only going to place the pics and videos of the fan stuff. So don't expect to see skimpy cos-play below. What you will see is some of the stuff for Thor - both video game and film, some of the filming set for The Walking Dead, randomness from around the show floor and a butt load from Tron. Read More...

Comic Con Hands On: Dead Space 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 3rd of August 2010 - 09:54 PM ]
It has been only a little over a month after we first brought you our thoughts on Dead Space 2 from E3. So what new can we bring you about DS2 that we haven't already talked about? Well, actually getting to take the reins of the demo they showed in the back rooms at E3 for one. If you have seen the game play from E3, then you know exactly what part of the game we got to look at behind curtains at Comic Con. Only this time we didn't have to rely on the game designers to tell us how great the new controls for Dead Space 2 are going to be. I can attest that they are just as tight and awesome as previously described. Read More...

Comic Con Impressions: Twisted Metal
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of August 2010 - 06:36 PM ]
Ever since it was announced at E3 that there would finally be a Twisted Metal making its debut on the PS3, I have been waiting ever so patiently for a really good showing of what the people over at Eat Sleep Play have accomplished - outside of the demo they had and modes announced. Perhaps reveal some story, game play modes or other characters. All those were all strongly touched on by David Jaffe at this year's Comic Con. This included showing a few behind-the-scenes views of the "cut scenes" they will be using for Twisted Metal. Read More...

Comic Con Day 4: The Final Let Down
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 30th of July 2010 - 05:29 PM ]
Ah, Day Four. It usually is the most depressing day of the entire convention. The day to look back and remember how great the con was, as well as to mourn the fact that you have to make the journey home and wait another year. It is also the same day that one can usually wander and find all of those people who were talking the days before in panels and have some kind of in-depth conversation as most don't know who they are without the place cards of the panels. Well unlike before, it seems that all those who mattered and not the flesh craved PR of the companies had the bright idea of going home a day early. Maybe the stabbing scared them off. Read More...

Comic Con Day 3: Rated M For Mature
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 30th of July 2010 - 03:20 PM ]
With the new age zombie plague starting with all the brain dead people wandering about the convention, you could only imagine where things could have progressed from there. Well maybe not imagine, but know if you have any knowledge on how the zombie plague works. People finally regressed to their base needs and wants, sex and violence. Let's start with the sex part of their degradation. Just like at almost every other "geek" or "nerd" convention out there, sans PAX, there are booth babes. Read More...

Comic Con Day 2: Night Of The Living Retardababy
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 29th of July 2010 - 10:33 PM ]
After having a bit of time to cool off about all of the events of the prior day, and receiving a few PR-like responses to messages about having issues with booth people, I trudged my way back to the convention space. It was truly a difficult thing to have to do after the abysmal treatment received the day before, but Friday was the day of the first big panel I needed to attend. That panel being Twisted Metal, but that comes later. The day was already off to a good start with almost being mugged for my Pop Tart by a sparrow and a good laugh being had by all. Read More...

Comic Con Day 1: Getting The Shaft
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 29th of July 2010 - 08:21 PM ]
After the abysmal and short night for my "preview," came the first full day of Comic Con. The first day to try and find out the details on games companies were not yet ready to disclose to the public at E3. Or details that would gain better exposure at Comic Con. Like some of the announcements given around comic-based games like Spider Man: Shattered Dimensions and DC Universe Online. Makes sense that they would want to hold off for the comic fans. Armed with the knowledge of some of these announcements, I made off for their booths. Read More...

Comic Con Day 0: Zero Is The New One
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 29th of July 2010 - 02:51 PM ]
Comic Con 2010 has come and gone. You may have been there. You may have missed out, well you would have if you had not followed my twitter updates. Now is the perennial looking back in retrospect. Like years past, they will be spread out over multiple articles. There is too much to fit in one article so it deserves proper treatment. So sit back and get ready for one long flash of what Comic Con has become. As most of you who have clicked in here know, the festivities start off with an exclusive event for the true fans that purchased their passes upwards of a year in advance - well, the fans, and media. Comic Con Issue #4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 3rd of August 2009 - 11:18 PM ]
Sunday: The Day of Rest...Kind of Given that this day should have been the lazy day, not Saturday, it is no surprise that the final day was even more lazy with a little bit of violence mixed in. Even though it was the day with the least going on, as has always been the case. But it did lead to a few interesting lessons learned about humans. They'll do anything for free stuff and most won't back up big talk when their bluff is called. Sunday was the day with only one thing on the agenda, get a good very public hands on with Lego Rock Band. Read More...

On Episode 37 of the Aggrocast, we are joined by Raychul of GameGirl.com, Gametopia, and the Gamer's Garage podcast. Michael also discusses his time at a local Street Fighter IV Tournament in Rockville, MD that was held by 355 Scion and JC Media. We also cover the games we've been playing, our weekly bargain bin selections, and recent results of Pwned. Read More...

Comic Con Issue #03
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 1st of August 2009 - 11:54 PM ]
Saturday: Heroes, Zombies, and Tron. Oh My! Reaching the mid-way point in the who convention, you would think that some of the best stuff would have already been done and shown. This is when things would start dying down and the end of it all starts to settle in. This couldn't be further from the truth on this day. A day where we were invited to check out what Activision and Capcom were showing off to the world. Some behind closed doors. Read More...
