PlayStation was missing at E3 and it looks like they may be sitting part of SDCC out too. At least when it comes to games and other things for that part of the company. Instead, we have word now that they will be out there but with some exclusive gear for con-goers to pick up while on the show floor. All stuff that you most likely could not get from the PlayStation Gear Store as it is listed that each will be limited to 500 pieces per exclusives. Each day housing a new exclusive pre the different box on sale out there. Not the best of things to be had, but it is at least something to search out on the show floor. I mean, they could have skipped everything yet again.
Each of these mystery boxes will be sold buy PlayStation on the floor until gone each day. If there are any left, those still looking will have another chance on the last day to buy any they want. Again, on a first come first serve basis and until gone. Like many of the other loot boxes out there, these will set you back $60 USD and house items that range in value over $90 USD. All PlayStation branded and most exclusive to this system. It seems odd to go that way, but it is what it is. Keep an eye out if that is what you are looking for out at SDCC this year.
For those of you heading out to San Diego Comic-Con, we’ll have some mysterious treats on hand!
This year, PlayStation Gear Store is offering Limited Edition PlayStation-themed Mystery Boxes. Each box includes five new limited edition PlayStation-branded items, averaging at a total value of $90 MSRP, and is available to San Diego Comic-Con attendees for the price of $60.
Each day, a new Mystery Box design featuring five new PlayStation items will be offered, so you have a chance to collect a total of 25 limited edition items, with 500 or less units manufactured for each item, when you swing by our booth throughout the duration of the show.
Check back at the booth every day for a peek at one of the new limited edition items. And if we haven’t sold out of each Mystery Box by Sunday, July 21 (the final day of the event), we plan to reopen sales for all of the remaining boxes available from start to finish.
If you would like to stop by, we’ll be at the PlayStation Gear Store, Booth #121 at the following times:
We look forward to seeing you there!
Are you glad to see that PlayStation will be out at SDCC this year or were you hoping for more on the video game side than this? Do you think we will get another big showing out at a con soon or will this be it moving forward? Will you be on the hunt for all of these boxes or just one or two? Let us know what you are thinking down in the comments and then discuss. When we have more from PlayStation, we will obviously add it all to the site. Just be sure to keep checking back in for that and more for SDCC.
