So here we go again. Another rhythm game comes to the market, only this time it is one that is truly trying to innovate the genre. I am talking in more ways than just trying to add new ways to play songs in the way of four guitars or adding challenges to earn more points and "stars." We can all rejoice! The Netflix app is coming to the PS3 on the 18th of October. That's only a few days from now so use those soon to be obsolete PS3 discs until they no longer spin. Or at least find some new use for them. Maybe some form of artwork like some have done with the AOL disc of the old internet days. You may have heard that back in July Redbox was testing the gaming market waters to see if it could pull in more revenue. Well it looks like everything has gone pretty well and Redbox will be providing the service to thousands of kiosks nationwide. I think Telltale Games took the DeLorean the wrong way through the time stream. Instead of going back and making a huge game based off the franchise back in the late 80's and early 90's, they went forward and decided to make a game 20 years after the last film hit theaters. That is, if it somehow came out before the end of the year. That just seems like the wrong way to do things. Yes, that includes myself. What? You've never seen an Asian with a southern accent before? Today more songs were revealed for Harmonix's Dance Central at Gamescom 2010. Currently one of the only games worth purchasing Microsoft's Kinect, Dance Central combines music, fun and dancing to create an experience unlike any other. I know that phrase is used an awful lot in this industry, but after experiencing it for myself at E3, I can definitively say I will purchase a XBox 360 and a Kinect specifically for this title. With today's announcement, the song list increases to 20. With only 30+ songs promised on the disc, you may be concerned about the depth of the roster, but with a list that now includes Rihanna's "Pon de Replay" and Technotronic's "Pump Up the Jam", I don't think you have too much to worry about.
