So here is further proof that an FPS can have a good story mixed in without the need for multi-player being the selling point. I mean let's face it, Killzone is not the franchise that all you multi-player freaks hop right out to go play. Don't you even try to deny it or swear that you do. You know just as well as I that is not true. That being the case obviously there has to be another great pull to the franchise to help sell millions of copies. At last year's CES we were introduced to a product called Sixense. It was a motion controller being made by one of the smaller companies Razor had under its wing. Sixense was a really cool device with A LOT of potential, but nothing seems to have happened over the last year. Well at least nothing all too public. While wandering the booths of CES the AggroGamer team happened upon the new design and updated controller in the wild. So the beta for DCUO came and went. We were lucky enough to be part of that whole experience. Well now the full version of DC Universe Online is ready for you to pick up or download depending on your preferred platform to play. To celebrate that fact, as is usual, there is a new trailer to show off for the game and to help promote it. There is nothing all that new in the clip as it mostly comprises of a mashing together of already seen footage. SCEE has finally let loose the app they announced back in December that will allow PlayStation fans to do pretty much what XBox fans have been doing for a long while now. That is access all their stats, news and talk about all things on their chosen console. Man that took a while to get out there. I totally can't wait to use it to keep up on my friends and trophies. Oh wait… I can't… It is only for people with European accounts. It's official, Torchlight is coming to XBox Live Arcade and it's completely changing the way you play the Torchlight series. Runic Games announced it's popular RPG, Torchlight will be released with the upcoming House Party series on XBLA. So here we are a week out from the launch of DC Universe Online and considerable time has been spent tweaking and fixing bugs in the beta, both on PC and PS3. I had the chance to be a part of the beta, along with all of you PSPlus subscribers or those lucky to have swagged a code to get in. If you don't fall into either of those categories, let me fill you in on what you have been missing out on. The Story Just like any RPG, be it MMO or Table Top, there is an ultimate evil trying to destroy/control the universe. Blizzard's World of Warcraft is the current definitive MMO. With six years of collected content, twelve million players, and three expansions, it doesn't look like WoW is going anywhere soon. Blizzard had built an empire, but to strengthen the empire's walls, it would have to rebuild itself from the inside out. For the past six years, in order for a player to reach the cap level of 80, players had to grind through some of the most grueling quests we've seen since Everquest. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow came and went. It was a great addition to the franchise in my opinion but the replay on the game is almost nonexistent. Once you beat the main game and then clean up the challenges and Paladin play-through there really is not much more to do with the game. It just sits on the shelf collecting dust like all of tomes in the Vampire's castle. Looks like Atari is breaking out the D20's. I'm a big D&D fan so any news of the franchise coming back to life is always a big plus. It was only this August that Atari was announcing its Neverwinter project for the PC, and now we have another D&D title slated for a 2011 release. Dungeons and Dragons: Daggerdale is an action packed RPG that will take place in the Dungeons and Dragons Forgotten Realms universe. Dungeons&Dragons: Daggerdale centers on the desperate struggle to defeat the evil Rezlus and his Zhentarim in their attempt to invade and conquer the Dalelands. What do you do after you announce that your latest game has gone over the $1 Billion dollar worldwide sales mark? You announce some DLC to keep that game going strong. Activision announced today its first DLC map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops entitled First Strike. The new DLC Map pack is slated for February 1, 2011 to be released on XBox Live. “We’re committed to supporting Call of Duty: Black Ops fans with continuous updates to the game and exciting new content that will keep our community engaged,” said Treyarch Studio Head, Mark Lamia. The map pack will include four new maps: Kowloon - Kowloon city in china, except this time on rooftops Berlin Wall - Located in Berlin at the infamous Checkpoint Charlie Discovery - an Antarctic research station Stadium - takes place at a hockey rink in the US A new Zombie map called "Ascension" will also be included in the map pack, but no details on that one yet.
