If you have a few minutes take a listen to Alex Hutchinson, Creative Director, as he explains some of the weapons and events that were going on in the last video as well as what we have to look forward to. I know I still have loads of questions about how it will all control still, but at least we get to know that one of the options is to fire debris at enemy ships. Now there's insult to injury if I say so.
Naval Combat Explained
While we do have a "closer" look at Naval Combat, Ubisoft has also taken it upon themselves to explain a bit more about the game's world and history in a four part web series. Here is the first one that covers the "making of." Sounds a bit odd as that is what the whole series is supposed to be about, but that is the overview at the beginning. It is kind of cool to see the use of reenactment groups to try and nail down the facts and events of the revolutionary war though.
For you technical people out there don't feel left out. They go over a bit on the AnvilNext engine and what it is capable of. With three years of development it is nice to see vast improvements and capabilities. It is one thing to state having 2000+ characters on screen, but then it is another to actually see it. So I recommend taking a bit of time to watch this too. You will most likely be impressed.
