Want More Info On Guitar Hero Live? Of Course You Do
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of April 2015 - 05:01 PM ]
Activision and FreeStyleGames have released the entire Guitar Hero Live press announcement for all of our viewing pleasure Did you feel like there should have been more to the Guitar Hero Live announcement earlier this week? I know I should felt like there should have been a bit more. Especially since some of the other "buy-able" outlets were already talking about their impressions on having played with the new guitar controller for the game. Well as many of these big publishers do, Activision held a rather sizable event to show off Guitar Hero Live to the press before the official announcement to get them all prepped. Now, that presentation is out and available for us all to view and pretend to be a member of the press pretending to be rock stars with Guitar Hero Live. Read More...

Guitar Hero Live Is Official & Rebooting The Franchise
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of April 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
Following yesterday's tease, Activision and FreeStyleGames have announced Guitar Hero Live to be the next reboot to the popular franchise Hot off the tease from yesterday we now officially have Guitar Hero Live and it is looking to reboot the franchise with some new features and a new peripheral for the game. We'll dig into all of that in a moment but here we have it; Guitar Hero Live is coming to the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, Android, and iOS platforms sometime later this year. My money would be on late October or early November to compete with Rock Band 4 as well as get all of those holiday sales a little bit early. Read More...

OnLive Is Shutting Its Doors But Sony Is Getting Some Goods
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 3rd of April 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
Game streaming service OnLive is shutting down at the end of the month but Sony has purchased some of their tech for some reason Some of you may have heard of OnLive or maybe even used the video game streaming service over the last few years since its launch. For those not in the know OnLive was a cool litter service that allowed users to purchase and play PC games without the need for a high-end system to run the graphics at the best settings. I was lucky enough to have used some of their hardware in the past and while the controller to keyboard syncs were not always the best, the service was nice and it did what you were paying for. Sadly it wasn't as big of a hit as the company had wanted and will be shutting the service down on April 30th. Read More...

New rumors out there is a Legend Of Zelda live action show is being developed by Netflix from the Wall Street Journal It's only been seven years since we had that IGN April Fool's joke about there being a live action Legend Of Zelda film in the works so it is about time we get that all spinning up again right? Of course it is. Only this time it isn't April Fool's Day and this doesn't look like some elaborate hoax to generate web traffic to the IGN website. Read More...

Looks Like Microsoft My Be Bringing Your RoomAlive
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 6th of October 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
There is a new tech demo that shows off an augmented reality system in the works call RoomAlive from Microsoft I remember not that long ago that Microsoft was using the Kinect to create a form of Augmented Reality in our living rooms. The project was called IllumiRoom for those who don't remember or have a strong Google-Fu. The idea behind it would be that by using the Kinect and a video projector you could expand out the screen of your game to add an extra level of immersion. The Kinect would 'scan' the area to get a digital mapping of your play space so that the projector could properly display no matter the contours or set up of anyone's living room or gaming space. I Love The Concept Of Video Games Live
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 10th of February 2012 - 10:00 PM ]
In my travels through the often harsh lands of television, I have come across what might be one of the most amazing things I have ever laid my eyes on: A symphony covering video game themes. If you guys don't already know "Video Games Live" is one part rock concert, one part festival, one part classical symphony concert and all parts amazing. Video Games Live is the brainchild of the legendary video game composers Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall, featuring an immersive event with music from your favorite video games performed by top orchestras and choirs. Along with video footage and music arrangements, epic light shows, solo performances and unique interactive segments. Read More...

Using Intimidation As A Tactic In I Am Alive
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 22nd of January 2012 - 06:23 PM ]
Earlier in my hands on with I Am Alive I spoke about who will be able to use intimidation and other tactics as a form of "combat" in the game. Also how not everyone needs to be killed but instead bypassed in other ways. Well it would seem that Ubisoft didn't think I fully explained it there or at least that is how I am taking it since there is a new video showcasing this part of the game. If you look below you will see a new trailer for the game and it really does explain things a bit better than I did. It also shows another weapon that wasn't even mentioned in the demo I played. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of January 2012 - 07:07 PM ]
Talk about a game that has an aptronym. That's a name that describes what it does for those scratching their head there. I Am Alive has survived a near cancelation and multiple delays since it was first announced Darkworks was developing it almost four years ago. It was brought in house to Ubisoft Shanghai and is still very much alive. In fact I got to get all handsie with a demo being shown by the game's director. So let me break down where the game is now from the original announcement. Read More...

If you read our previous article about XBox Live and Its new TV streaming service then you already know that and XBox Live Gold account will be required to access most of these new features. Well in a screen shot today submitted by a reader over at GiantBomb AT&T U-verse is actually crediting users who want to use the XBox Live feature the cost of a single year's subscription. A little out of character for AT&T but hey I'll take what I can get. The big deal here is that AT&T U-verse was available to all Silver members and will now require a Gold membership to partake in all the entertainment features. Read More...

You've Got To Be Kidding Me. New Mortal Kombat Film In The Works
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 3rd of October 2011 - 03:48 PM ]
Please gods don't let there be another video game film craze coming again. Earlier this week we found out Dead Island has been optioned for a featured film. Now, Mortal Kombat is getting the same treatment. Yes, another Mortal Kombat film is in the works. Although it has potential to be really good but only if things work out as alluded to. Apparently things went way better for the Web Series that was directed by Kevin Tancharoen than Warner Bros. expected. Read More...
