A new title in the line that is coming from a studio that is known for more of the darker shooters out there. A new trailer for Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark has hit the web showing off quite a bit of fun gameplay. Do you know how close we are to the launch of Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark? About a month away now and the game was only officially announced back in February. I am sure that Edge Of Reality, the new studio working on the franchise, has been working long and hard before that but it is still crazy to think that the game is coming out on June 24th already and there is still so little to know about Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark outside of it taking place in the same War For Cybertron setting. It looks like Transformers Universe has become a MOTA instead of a MMO. Here is a trailer to show you how the game is looking now. It doesn't feel like that long ago that I heard about Transformers Universe and it was a browser-based MMO title in the works. Now it looks like, as the franchise namesake, Transformers Universe has transformed into a MOTA, or Massively Online Tactical Action game if you will. When Activision first announced that High Moon Studios would be making a Transformers game, I was a bit skeptical. That is, until I saw the trailer and screen shots of the game. Granted it is not the Transformers we all, or at least most of us, know and love. And no, I do not mean the recent live-action Transformers movie. I am talking about the 80's cartoon series, including the full length movie where I first cried over the fact that Optimus Prime died in the epic battle with Megatron*. I have to be honest, I haven’t heard a single positive thing about the tie-in game to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen save for the fact that it has multiplayer. Beyond that though, I can’t really say that I’m enticed to drop $60.00 to buy this game. However if you’re one of those die-hard fans that actually went out and bought the game, well at least you have a bunch of new goodies that are on the way. Activision and ROTF developers Luxoflux have been working hard to prepare a fairly sizeable amount of downloadable content. As I mentioned, multiplayer is probably the only thing that has me even remotely interested in ROTF so it’s nice to see that a lot of the downloadable content is targeted on bolstering that part of the game.
