Do you know how close we are to the launch of Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark? About a month away now and the game was only officially announced back in February. I am sure that Edge Of Reality, the new studio working on the franchise, has been working long and hard before that but it is still crazy to think that the game is coming out on June 24th already and there is still so little to know about Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark outside of it taking place in the same War For Cybertron setting. I just hope that Activision hasn't turned the somewhat decent franchise into a full on movie tie-in kind of thing.
Let's watch the new trailer for Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark and see.
Well, Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark looks like all of the other titles from High Moon Studios. It also looks like Edge Of Reality didn't stray too far from what worked before. That would mean that there is no real push for advancement in the franchise in terms of new game mechanics but at least there is a new bit of story and this time it is more on Earth. That could be at least interesting if they used real landmarks and not just some made up ones stated to be on Earth.
I'd be lying if I wasn't going to at least give Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark a chance based on how much I've enjoyed the other titles in the franchise. I don't know how keen I am knowing that most of the new character models are following the Michael Bay vision over the original or current Toy/Comic versions but I can look past that I guess. As long as Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark keeps all the fun I had with War For Cybertron, Fall Of Cybertron, and Dark Of The Moon. Well, the first two more than that last one.
