TF2's Sniper Update: Something You Can Get Stuck On
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 13th of May 2009 - 10:39 AM ]
With the next batch of achievements and weapon unlocks announced and mentioned difficulty in deciding on an alternate weapon for the sniper rifle, it looks as if our good friends at Valve have managed to come up with an idea and now the Sniper Update is upon us.  Called the "Huntsman" it is a bow-and-arrow for a slightly more in-your-face approach to playing this class. A sniper worth his weight with this weapon could lead a charge into the enemy base.  Provided with invulnerability, the skilled bowman could pin everyone to the walls waltzing into the intelligence room as his enemies wait to be freed or killed. Aggrocast Episode 27: We're Back
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 12th of May 2009 - 11:08 AM ]
EPISODE 27: Michael, Brian and Binh are back with the brand new Aggrocast Hello faithful readers and listeners. As many may know, when we launched Aggrogamer.com, we brought the Pwned.com Podcast, Total Meltdown, over with us. We changed the name of it to the more suitable title of Aggrocast. We retain the same cast of Michael (G-Nitro), Brian (Quiglin), and Binh (Church). We also kept the same format but moved around a bit to settle in properly with the site, and we also made sure the same craziness, humor and entertainment is still there. With that, we hope you enjoy the new Aggrocast, as we really enjoyed being back on the podcast scene after a few weeks off. Read More...

If you can't wait for it and don't care to be spoiled, then by all means hit up the video. Read More...

Do You Smell What Marcus Fenix Is Cooking
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 10th of May 2009 - 01:25 PM ]
If you haven’t heard by now there is another video game movie in the works. And this time it’s for Gears of War (chainsaw FTW). Chris Morgan, who has written such movies as Fast and Furious and Wanted, just wrapped up the script for the upcoming movie and now they are looking for a cast. He is looking for his main actor to play Marcus Fenix, and while others are thinking of actors like Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, or maybe Chuck Norris. That is not the case for Chris, as he is actually thinking about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to play Marcus Fenix. Chris Morgan told MTV, “The Rock is awesome. Read More...

Street Fighter IV PC gets a free bonus!
by Ben Brody [ Sunday, 10th of May 2009 - 05:39 AM ]
Or so Capcom thinks. Either way, anybody that picks up SFIV for the PC will get a MadCatz Fightpad for free. The game is priced a bit higher than most PC games at $59.99 but a $39.99 game plus a $39.99 fightpad is good enough for me. Gamers may wonder why MadCatz is so busy making PC fightpads when there is a shortage of console ones, but the fact is is that nobody wants to play Street Fighter with a mouse and keyboard (awaits barrage of ppl yelling at me that they play it on an emulator with a keyboard all the time).Capcom will release Street Fighter IV (Games for Windows Live for those that don't know) on July 7th here in the States. Activision Announces Fall Lineup of "Hero"s
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 7th of May 2009 - 03:45 PM ]
More Peripherals!!!!  Yay!  I know that is what you're thinking as today Activision announced their fall releases of "Hero" franchises. Attempting to break into the hip-hop and R&B markets, they will be releasing DJ Hero, coming to you with special turntable peripheral.  No longer content with sticking to plastic instruments, they are moving into plastic electronics.  Couch Potato Hero will of course have plastic TV and remote as you sit on your couch playing a person sitting on a couch.  All kidding aside I really hope to see this at E3 in a few weeks and take it for a spin*. Wii and DSi DLC for the Week of 5/4
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 6th of May 2009 - 03:52 AM ]
Another week means new downloadable releases on Wii and DSi.  This ultimately indicates another first party cash-in for Nintendo.  A rumor I had heard and spoke out about on Total Meltdown, Episode 26, that Nintendo would use their first party mascots/characters to sell little applications on the DSi has come to fruition.A pair of applications are new to the DSi Ware shop.  Featuring the Animal Crossing license and each costing 200 DSi Ware points, Nintendo released a calculator and a clock. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 5th of May 2009 - 09:43 PM ]
BlizzCon® 2009 Tickets on Sale May 16 Yea, the title sucks, but who cares? Just thrown out there was the dates and details on trying to get your hands on some of those coveted Blizzcon passes that will most likely get snagged up in a matter of minutes again. But here is a good 11 day warning to get ready for the internet to crash due to all the Blizzard fans from trying to log on at the same time. But this time around, there is a little extra for those of you who can't get passes. Not talking the ability to watching on Pay Per View either. Read More...

More Clutter From The Beatles
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 5th of May 2009 - 05:45 PM ]
New Beatles Rock Band Controllers With pre-orders starting to fly in for this new Rock Band game, The Beatles, the people over at Harmonix and MTV have decided to hook those pre-order people with a few little extras for shelling out a few bucks before the game comes out. Well hook them up somewhat. By giving them a site they can go to where they can place in a code given when pre-order. This will apparently give access to a few things that will hit the internet hours after it is placed in there. Read More...

Can You Feel The Fear?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 5th of May 2009 - 12:17 AM ]
Feel Game Trailer A while back there was some buzz about a game based on the horror film The Grudge. It was quite a while back, and it was mainly the people that brought the film to you were working on a game, but the internet buzz twisted it one way and went with it. As the mass majority of internet users are want to do. What else would we expect from the crazy people on the internet and their pornography clouded minds? Well for once, at least from looking at this video for a game called Feel, they were more on par with what was going on than normally given credit to those crack pots. Read More...

4Chan Eroge Title Katawa Shoujo Releases Demo
by Michael Camacho [ Sunday, 3rd of May 2009 - 10:04 PM ]
A group of 4Chan /a/ regulars have decided to step away from posting memes and get into Eroge/Hentai game creation. It began in 2007 when an anonymous posting of Doujin work by Raita focusing on character designs for a dating sim revolving around Crippled characters. The lightbulb went off and the small group banded together to bring that idea to reality. Once a dedicated team was fully assembled, they created Four Leaf Studios and began their work. Here is the official description of the game: Katawa Shoujo is a bishoujo-style visual novel set in the fictional Yamaku High School for disabled children, located somewhere in modern Japan. Never Been a Better Time to Survive in '09
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 1st of May 2009 - 07:32 PM ]
The best co-op game I played last year was Left4Dead and if you were among the few PC gamers that did not purchase this title, this is the perfect opportunity for you to try it, then buy it.  All day Friday, you are able to download Left4Dead on Steam and play the entire game including the recently released Survival mode.  After you try and fall in love with the game (as I know you will), you have all weekend to purchase it through Steam at 40% off.   Left4Dead is a cooperative experience where four players are challenged through an array of campaigns attempting to escape the zombie apocalypse and make it safety. Another Evil Blast From The Past
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 1st of May 2009 - 05:39 AM ]
Resident Evil: Archives I said it a long while back that this year was going to be the year of Resident Evil. Not that it would dominate the market and be game of the year. But that there was going to be a cornucopia of Resident Evil titles out for consoles this year. Although it would seem that more of them will be on the Wii over the other consoles out there. Count is 1 to 1 to 2 now. XBox, PlayStation and Wii respectfully. Read More...

Finally The Best Man/Woman/Robot/Monster Team-Up
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 29th of April 2009 - 08:59 PM ]
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Coming To Live And PSN Looks like the complaining and wishing have finally paid off for all of us Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 fans. Well somewhat. Don't you hate when I say that because it generally means it comes with some kind of "but" or bad news? Well not totally this time. The aforementioned "somewhat" only means that we will have to wait until this summer to get it on our XBoxes and PlayStations. In fact, we will be getting it then with some new features that I'm sure will not let you down. Well as long as Live and the PSN do what is hoped of them. Read More...
