Command Come In... New Operation Raccoon City Game Play Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 14th of April 2011 - 05:27 PM ]
It is in and it makes Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City look like a load of fun. The trailer also makes all of the screen shots look like there were originally working it out for the Wii. Granted, there are a lot of pre-rendered scenes in the trailer, but if you look fast, you can see the game play mixed in. From the looks of it, it looks to take RE: Outbreak and do what was originally intended for those games. Fast action and a bit of sneaking with a sprinkle of Zombies and B. Read More...

Falling To Your Death Issue Has Been Solved In Portal 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 13th of April 2011 - 10:00 PM ]
Doesn't it bug you in games when non-supernatural heroes or villains can fall from hundreds of feet and survive without rhyme or reason? Or for that matter, falling 20 feet almost kills them out right. It is a mix between realism and game play that designers have to take into account. Do you forgo realism in a major way for game play sake or do you try to fake it? Mix in the ability to portal hundreds of feet into the air, sometimes on accident, and now you have a real issue. But it looks like minds behind Portal 2 have the solution. Read More...

Ah The Mean Streets Of L.A. Noire...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 7th of April 2011 - 10:26 PM ]
There is nothing like see the dirty underbelly of the streets and police force. It totally gives me the warm and fuzzy feeling in my belly. For once, one of the trailers for L.A. Noire has actually been able to get me to lose some doubt. Well, at least the doubt in how the audio mixes in with the visuals. As I have said before, to me the audio seems just way too high quality when mixed in. Not that either the visuals and audio are bad, but they just didn't seem to meld well. Read More...

So What Is Up With The Story Of F.3.A.R.
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 1st of April 2011 - 06:04 PM ]
It has been a bit since we've had some good and solid updates for F.3.A.R. I guess it is time to get another look and a story trailer. Thank you Warner Bros. and Day 1 Studios for giving us just that. STORY TIME! Looks like someone has some serious "mommy issues." Not to mention that they look to have lead to some even deeper and twisted results besides becoming a man-whore. That's what happens isn't it? Like the opposite of a girl having "daddy issues? Well that was quick! Rift, the latest MMO by Trion Worlds and SyFy channel has been out for less than a month and already we are getting a major content release from them. On March 30th, Alsbeth began her reign of terror on Telara, and it ain't pretty. The latest content release actually is a multi-tier event.  The first phase of the event is going on right now, and the second event begins April 9th.  After that we will see the next phase and the opening of the newest Raid Zone: River of Souls at the end. Cutting Wires And Fisticuffs In Battlefield 3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 31st of March 2011 - 08:44 PM ]
So here we go with the third "episode" of game play trailers for Battlefield 3. This time it would seem a basic "disarm a bomb" task goes a little awry and turns into an all out shoot and destroy everything mission. Who would have thought that following a wire into an enemy "hideout" would turn into such madness and violence? I do have to say that out of all of these clips, this one impresses me the most with visuals. The immersion factor, even for just being a video, was cranked up because of the lighting and textures of the vents and underground room. Read More...

Hunted Gets A New Game Play Trailer
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 31st of March 2011 - 05:40 PM ]
It's dangerous to go hunting alone and in the latest game play video from Bethesda and inXile entertainments Hunted: The Demon Forge I wouldn't want to be out there by myself anyways. One of the best things in this video is that we finally get to hear some of the awesome voice over work we have all come to love from Bethesda Studios. Not to mention at the beginning of this month it was announced that Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess, Spartacus: Blood and Sand) would breathe life into the seductive temptress Seraphine. I think the voice acting work is best highlighted at the end of the video where we can see our dynamic duo bantering back and forth. Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 31st of March 2011 - 03:33 PM ]
So I saw something this week that not very many people get to see these days. I saw the future. A specific future if you really want to get technical. I saw the future of EVE Online and it looks amazing. Check out the video below! You probably are sitting there with your mouth open, thinking to yourself "what the hell did I just watch?" Finally We Get To Play As Umbrella In Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
by Andy [ Wednesday, 30th of March 2011 - 09:38 PM ]
So it would seem just like Resident Evil 4, Capcom is looking for another way to package its older titles for us all to purchase again. Only this time it is RE2 and RE3…but from the point of view of Umbrella. Now this could be a little interesting, minus the fact that you should be destined to lose from the start. Here is a teaser for the title that is slated for this winter. It's not all that much, but it does have a bit of game footage and it shows Leon being introduced again. Read More...

Dungeon Siege III Katarina Video
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 30th of March 2011 - 06:01 PM ]
Dungeon Siege III is a little more than two months away and I can hardly contain my excitement. We recently got a video highlighting the latest ally that will be available in game and this girl is fierce. Katarina Vignette is a ranged death dealing machine and the third ally to be announced. Trained in the ways of nomads, she uses Guns, Magic and a black hound to pretty much eviscerate her enemies. The 10th legion did well when they recruited her. Expect some awesome pistol play, and some very cool shotgun animations, which are really highlighted in the following video. Read More...

From Padawan To Jedi Knight In The Old Republic
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 30th of March 2011 - 03:57 PM ]
Armor progression is probably one of the most important factors in MMO's to date. It establishes your identity, your rank, your skill and possibly your luck, all just because your robe of +10 to "sexterity" is harder to get than anyone else. Star Wars: The Old Republic has given us a quick look into armor progression of the Jedi Knight and all I can say is "the force is strong with this one." What makes this video so entertaining is we can compare the armor differences between the two sub-classes of Jedi Knight, the Jedi Guardian and the Jedi Sentinel. You want to be a one-handed-force-wielding-tank-and-spank-bad-ass? Read More...

I mean seriously? Did you just want to see if there was something new to troll on or bitch about? Because we all know I save that kind of stuff for the middle or end of my writings; some of the time. For those who came here looking for those above mentioned play styles, look below at the video. It shows three different ways that you can tackle the mission set forth. Read More...

Duke Nukem Delayed Again: Much Shorter This Time
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 24th of March 2011 - 09:51 PM ]
Duke Nukem Forever being delayed again is like a nerd with a pocket protector - you know the joke, everyone knows the joke and the best you can muster is a half-hearted smile in one corner of your mouth in recognition the joke even existed. So, the fact 2K and Gearbox went with a more tongue-in-cheek approach to the announcement shows a true effort in good faith to the game and the franchise as a whole. June 14th is not that much longer to wait and I'm certain the extra time will be used wisely. Duke Nukem Forever will be released on XBox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Read More...

Prey 2 Live Action Trailer
by Corey Dockendorf [ Saturday, 19th of March 2011 - 07:57 PM ]
Bethesda Softworks announced this week Prey 2, and the teaser will make you think twice about putting your cell phone on airplane mode. Prey, which was released back in July of 2006, was originally developed by Human Head Studios. Prey followed the sci-fi adventures of Cherokee Domasi "Tommy" Tawodi. The general story was that he, along with Girlfriend and Grandfather, were beamed up to an alien ship known only as The Sphere. The Sphere has this whole Galactacus complex, as it devours all materials, living or inanimate from our tiny blue planet. Read More...
