Alpha Protocol Delayed... Again
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 29th of September 2009 - 09:46 PM ]
Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, God of War III, Gran Turismo 5, Final Fantasy XIII, a pretty good list huh, a developer would be ecstatic to have their game listed among those games. So that's exactly what Sega did with their Action-Stealth RPG Alpha Protocol. The developer recently pushed the game back into 2010, which puts in on a list with all the aforementioned games. With all the delays this year we wonder if even Assassin's Creed 2 will make the list. While it's not known why Sega pushed the game back, we can consider that it may be something big because it is being slated with a nine month delay. Read More...

Capcom Forgot How To Count Again
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 29th of September 2009 - 07:45 PM ]
Oh Capcom you were doing so well with the counting again. You started with Resident Evil going to four and then five. THen you continued with Street Fighter and Dead Rising, both going four and two respectfully. It was looking like the past of Super Ultra Directors Cut of an earlier title rehashed as a new title had gone the way of the dodo in your eyes. You were kicking out full and new games. Then you go and ruin it with this. Read More...

Extracting More Images Of Fear
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 29th of September 2009 - 02:20 PM ]
Dead Space: Extraction comes out this week on the Wii. This Tuesday to be exact. On a system that the core game was never on, only rumored about being on. But at least it is on a system that is made perfectly for a rail-shooter style of game. As the Resident Evil franchise has shown in the past and in the not too far off future. But that is not to say that the visuals are not going to be geared up to shock and instill horror in the minds of its players. In fact, here are a bunch of shots from the game and concepts to prove that point. Read More...

PSPDoNotPassGo
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 29th of September 2009 - 11:28 AM ]
North American user's usually aren't on the better side of things when it comes to Sony. Sony announced two separate plans, one for Europe and one for North America, regarding owners of UMD PSP's upgrading to the PSPGo. Problem is that the announcement for North America wasn't really a plan rather than a statement."SCEA region will not offer a UMD rewards program at this time," due to the fact that the company has a "dual-platform strategy," an SCEA spokesperson told IndustryGamers. Kotaku got told that the reason was "due to legal and technical reasons we will not be offering the program at this time. Read More...

Terror Is Reality XVIII
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of September 2009 - 10:49 PM ]
Yet another game that has had the Multiplayer mode stapled to it. You all know how I feel about that. But this time it looks like Capcom has done it in a way that could overly help with the game instead of detract. At least as story goes. It looks like what they have done is taken the survivors of the zombie plague and had them do what was done in Land of the Dead, Human on Zombie death matches. Maybe Thunder Dome with Humans vs. Zombies. Read More...

Review: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of September 2009 - 08:33 PM ]
The Civil War saga in the Marvel universe has been one of the best stories to grace comic books in quite some time. It's a great story that is an allegorical commentary in the wake of 9/11 and The Patriot Act. In the storyline, a Superhuman, Nitro, goes nuclear in Stamford, Connecticut, killing hundreds during a reality TV show. A TV show that was like COPS but following the New Warriors. Once this happens, the US public demands that Superhumans answer for their actions and the Superhuman Registration Act is put in place forcing heroes to come out and show who they are. Read More...

Nier is Hopefully Not Too Far
by Kevin [ Friday, 25th of September 2009 - 03:21 PM ]
Nier,or Nier Gestalt as it goes by these days, is one of those titles that I really feel could go either way. It could be a really compelling experience with a narrative that draws you in with some really deep action elements, or it could be a largely forgettable title with little to allow it to stand out among other similar entries in the genre. The design of the game is decidedly Square Enix and if we have learned anything from their protagonists, there will be a rich melencholy right below the surface of the gruff devil may care attitude. Will the style of the game be enough? Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 24th of September 2009 - 09:12 PM ]
At TGS Square Enix announced today, their new Puzzle/RPG named Gyromancer. It's basically a highly addictive Bejewled PopCap game with the RPG fantasy twist from the best in the business. Gyromancer will be available for XBox 360 as well as Steam. Both PopCap and Square Enix have collaborated before, in Japanese games, but this is more of a creative avenue for both teams. Gamers will play a Sorcerer of the Godseye, named Rivel, and traverse through ten different stages, collecting powerful beasts to summon throughout the adventure. Pokemon? Read More...

TGS Fantasies Are Given
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 24th of September 2009 - 07:41 PM ]
As was to be expected in the Final Fantasy Fan capital of the world, Japan, and at the game show specifically in their location, Tokyo Game Show, there is some new eye candy for the franchise. All in the form of shots of the specific Final Fantasy bundled PS3 and a nice shiny new game trailer for Final Fantasy XIV. Something to get the salivary glands overworking for us all that couldn't make TGS yet still wanted to see something from Square Enix. The themed PS3, seen below, is a bit "girlie" if I do say so. by Binh Nguyen [ Thursday, 24th of September 2009 - 04:12 PM ]
It's been months since Plants vs. Zombies has been released and you still haven't picked it up? Maybe the economy has affected you more than most people realize? Well for whatever the reason is, you do not have an excuse to not be playing Plants vs Zombies. PopCap has launched a free Flash-based version of the game off their site. “Plants vs. Zombies is a deceptively deep game that takes awhile to grow on gamers,” said Ben Rotholtz, vice president of Marketing at PopCap. Another Gift From The Gods
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 23rd of September 2009 - 08:20 PM ]
It had been rumored since the before the official announcement of the God of War Compilation. The inclusion of the God of War III demo on disc with the first two games. Then the announcement came and there was no mention at all. In fact Sony wouldn't even comment on if it was going to be or not. Which left all of us God of War fans wondering if we would get an early play of the game, outside of going to a convention. Well, today, it has been confirmed that the demo we've seen and played at E3, Comic Con, and PAX is totally going to be included on the game disc for the Compilation. A nice little bonus if I do say so. Read More...
