This Week In Video Games 8/24/15 — 8/28/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 28th of August 2015 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games This week in video games in now in a wrap and we can all focus on bigger and better things. Like PAX Prime or actually playing some of those video games that we heard or know about now. Especially since next week is going to be a doozy with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Mad Max hitting on the same day. That is if you were able to get through Until Dawn and the latest for Tales From The Borderlands already. Sometimes things have to hit the back-burner and get played later instead of sooner. Minecraft: Story Mode Is Going To Let Us Choose Our Hero Too
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 28th of August 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
It looks like Minecraft: Story Mode isn't only letting us choose our own story paths but also how our hero of Minecraft looks and sounds…with new screenshots While all of those lucking gamers are attending PAX will be getting a chance to play with a beta build of Minecraft: Story Mode it looks like the rest of us are not being left out in the lurch with nothing to go one but word of mouth. Telltale wouldn't do that to us. And in fact they haven't as they have dropped a few new screenshots on us from Minecraft: Story Mode as well as a little nugget that is a first in the developer's history here for their foray into the Mojang franchise. Rise Of The Tomb Raider's Collector's Edition Has Been Detailed
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 26th of August 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
The collector's edition for Rise Of The Tomb Raider has been revealed and it is pretty standard in the ways of collector’s editions goes Surprise, surprise. It looks like Rise Of The Tomb Raider is getting a Collector's Edition version of the game. Okay. Not really that big of a surprise here but up until now there has been no word from Square Enix on if there was going to be one or not. Hells, Crystal Dynamics has been pretty quiet on the whole thing but I am sure that is due to them trying to make Rise Of The Tomb Raider the game we want and need and not just a bland addition to the franchise. That is at least what I would like to think as it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside to think that as I'll most likely have another year to sit and wait for Rise Of The Tomb Raider to move from the Xbox 360 and Xbox One over to the PC and PS4. The Ultimate Metal Gear Is Coming In Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of August 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
The launch trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been released and it is full of nostalgia and new gameplay just for The Phantom Pain We are now officially a week out from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's release on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. Next Tuesday, September 1st we will be giving Kojima Productions' final foray into the Metal Gear franchise before departing Konami and moving on to other things. It will be a sad time but it looks like The Phantom Pain will be bringing us so much joy and "ultimate story" that we can overlook all of that and just pine for the game when not in our hands. The Phantom Pain has looked to be one of those titles that have the ability to last for quite some time even if you don't take part in the online multiplayer aspect of it all. Read More...

The Rise Of The Tomb Raider Demo That Should Have Been At Gamescom
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 24th of August 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
A stealthier version of the Rise Of The Tomb Raider demo that was shown off at Gamescom has been released to show combat doesn't have to be used in Rise Of The Tomb Raider If you were like me then you were most likely let down with the first showcase of Rise Of The Tomb Raider during Gamescom. It was claimed to be a stealth gameplay demo just for the show but there was a lot more combat mixed in and a lot less stealth than we should expect in Rise Of The Tomb Raider. It looks like Crystal Dynamics heard or read the outcry there as they have just released a new version of that "stealth" Rise Of The Tomb Raider gameplay footage only this time they really do mean stealth as Lara makes her way through the same area without trying to kill or injure a single person in Rise Of The Tomb Raider. Usually I am all about the killing to get rid of those pesky guards in games like Rise Of The Tomb Raider but that just has never been Lara's style before and more along the lines of Agent 47. This Week In Video Games 8/17/15 — 8/21/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of August 2015 - 11:03 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Another week in video games down and many, many more to go. Even if this week was a bit on the roller coaster ride that we usually use to describe weeks that occur before major conventions. PAX Prime is coming up so I am sure that all of the other big announcements and reveals will happen then. That's not saying we didn't have some great stuff for Until Dawn, Batman: Arkham Knight, and Mad Max this week. Hells, we also had one of the best announcements for Kingdom Heart III with Big Hero 6 getting its time in the sun when that game finally hits the market. Read More...

Finally Some Resident Evil 0 Remaster Gameplay To Look At
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of August 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
A gameplay demo for Resident Evil 0 Remaster from E3 has been finally released for the world to see and compare how far the upgrades are bringing the game It seems weird to be talking about this now but we have the E3 demo of Resident Evil 0 Remaster live and ready for all of you to view. It only took Capcom about two months and a few conventions to finally allow this footage of the demo out to the world but at least we have it. Up until now most of us only had the Resident Evil 0 Remaster E3 trailer to look at in terms of visuals and how the game may have been upgraded for the next gen systems. Now we have one of the community poorly playing through the ten minute demo just for us to see Resident Evil 0 Remaster. Read More...

République Is Sneaking Its Way Onto The PS4 In 2016
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of August 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
It has just been announced that stealth-action game République will be making its way onto the PS4 with all five episodes If you have not heard of République yet then you are most likely a console gamer and are missing out on many PC and Mac only titles; or iOS and Android at that. Before you click away here though you better read on as it looks like République is coming to the PS4 next year in the remastered state that Camouflaj has already released. Well at least in terms of releasing the four of the five episodes out on Steam for République so far. Yes, this is another episodic title that we can all look forward to next year on the PS4 from GungHo Online. Read More...

28 Years Of Metal Gear Solid Will Be Concluded In The Phantom Pain
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of August 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
A new promotional video for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been released teasing that we will get the answers we've waited decades for It's a little crazy to think that we've been playing Metal Gear Solid games for almost thirty years. Twenty eight to be exact and it has been one hell of a ride that Kojima has taken us on over the years. I guess that will make the ending of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain much more emotional as it will be an end to a rather lengthy run. Konami has said they want to keep the franchise rolling but The Phantom Pain will be the end of the franchise with the man who started it all. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 8/10/15 — 8/14/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 14th of August 2015 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Thus concludes another week in video games here. It's been kind of a scattered mess all week as to what we have been getting but none the less we had another fun week for all things video games. I know I am happy to see that Rise Of The Tomb Raider is going to have a lot of what made the franchise amazing back in it. Then there is all the new stuff we had for Mad Max and all the multiplayer beta stuff for Black Ops 3. Oh and let us not discount the fact that the PlayStation Experience is coming back this year even though it is heading off to another city. Read More...

Get The BFG Ready As We Have A New DOOM Gameplay Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 13th of August 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
A new bit of gameplay for DOOM has been released out there and it shows off some good old fashions demon killing…and the BFG Sometimes in the hullabaloo of things stuff gets lost in the cracks as was the case here with the most recent DOOM trailer that was released. There have been so many new things going on due to Gamescom and a plethora of title releases that this new DOOM trailer was also missed by us here as well. We are sorry for that id Software and now we are going to make up for that. Granted it will only be in the way of showing off the new DOOM trailer to all but at least it is something. Read More...

New Trailer For The Technomancer Shows Off The Horrors Of Mars
by Duke Searles [ Thursday, 13th of August 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
We have a new trailer for The Technomancer to show off even if it doesn't show anything more than a bit of Mars from The Technomancer Hopefully you are in the mood for seeing more for The Technomancer. I say that because that is what we have here for you and all today in the form of a new trailer for the game. We can thank Spiders Games for giving us something else to look at for The Technomancer. Sadly though it looks like there is nothing new to truly look at except for a bit more the oddness that is Mars in The Technomancer and one of the mutants that we are going to be compared to while being hunted for "going rogue" in the game. Resident Evil 2 Is Officially Getting A Remake
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of August 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
It has been made official as Resident Evil 2 is getting the remake treatment so even more gamers out there can experience the horror of Resident Evil 2 It looks like fans and the internet win again as Resident Evil 2 is getting a remake treatment and it won't be a fan project as we've seen spreading all over the internet. In fact this news comes right from the horse's mouth as Capcom has green-lit Resident Evil 2 Remake and Yoshiaki Hirabayashi will again be at the helm. That would be the producer behind Resident Evil HD Remaster that hit the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC not too long ago and I am pretty sure he has his hands in Resident Evil 0 Remaster as well. New Rise Of The Tomb Raider Demo Shows Some Tomb Raiding
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 10th of August 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
The actual demo for Rise Of The Tomb Raider on the Gamescom show floor has been released at it feels much more Tomb Raider-like than ever I am pretty sure now that Rise Of The Tomb Raider has been announced to not only be hitting the Xbox 360 and Xbox One but also the PC and PS4 that Microsoft is not going to do any justice on showing off what we can all look forward to for the game. During Gamescom they showed the world on their huge stage what Rise Of The Tomb Raider would look like on their system only to make Crystal Dynamics' work look like a Thief/Uncharted rip-off. That's how I saw it at least even though I know way better. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 8/3/15 — 8/7/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of August 2015 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games As Gamescom comes to a warp here we too come to wrap up another week in video games. There was so much to take in for this week we didn't get a chance to cover most things that cropped up for the industry at all. We tried our damnedest to do so but we are still just a small and fierce team. When the likes of Rock Band 4, Mad Max, and Final Fantasy XV are hammering us with so much it is hard to cover all video games out there or in the works. Hells, there was also a whole lot of Metal Gear Solid V that was handed out and we were only able to cover so little on it even though it was a huge thing. Read More...
