Xbox One
The list of games that will be backwards compatible for the Xbox One has been released just before the update that will allow them to be played on the Xbox One
Back at E3 this year it was announced that the Xbox One was going to be getting backwards support for some of the games that a lot of people grew to love on the Xbox 360. It had to be one of the most shocking things that Microsoft had to show during the press conference and now on November 12th it looks like we are all getting the first 104 titles to make the jump and allow us all to recreate those nostalgic moments on the Xbox One. That is a much larger list than the original 18 that we had before isn't it?
How the Xbox One backwards compatibility looks to work here is that you will need to have the original hard disc of said game and load it into your Xbox One. From there all the magic happens where you will be able to download the version of the game on the Xbox Live Marketplace for free and then play away. Knowing how Microsoft works you'll most likely need to keep said disc in the Xbox One the entire time you play as well as when you want to play it again so don't think you'll be able to rent or borrow games from friends to instantly boost your library. That would have been nice for the Xbox One but people need to get paid.
Along with the backwards functionality for the games on the Xbox One it looks like you'll also be able to use all of the new bells and whistles that the Xbox One offers for its own generation of titles. Things like capturing video and screenshots, streaming to your favorite service like Twitch, streaming your backward titles to a Windows machine to play, as well as being able to play with all of your friends who have yet to get a Xbox One but still play the 360 version of the game. That is very nice of them to bring to all of these backwards titles.
