Friday The 13th
In the wake of Friday The 13th: The Game succeeding with Kickstarter we have some new Friday The 13th gameplay to show off what we all may be experiencing in the near future
For those following all things Friday The 13th: The Game you will be glad to know that the game has been fully funded via the Kickstarter campaign for the game and production will commence. I am sure that Gun Media was still in the production phase of everything as they waited for the funds to roll in but none the less Friday The 13th is coming to a PC, PS4, and Xbox One near you in the coming year. That is unless the developer wants to piss a lot of people off and cancel the game after making the money but I don't see that happening here for Friday The 13th: The Game. Too much passion.
Anyways, in celebration of Friday The 13th getting the full funding and then some it looks like Gun Media has released a select portion of some pre-alpha footage for the game. Some very, very early work for the game from the looks of things but now that they have the money it will hopefully get better. In the following clip though you will see Jason hunting down a female councilor in Friday The 13th: The Game and move in for the kill. All so you can get a feel for how the final version of the game may play. As they were adamant in stating, I'll do it too, this is a very early look at Friday The 13th: The Game so enjoy.
Friday The 13th: The Game — Pre Alpha Gameplay
Maybe it is just me but the footage here looks insanely dark. Like on the verge off too dark to even play the game. This could be the video quality out there or just the settings of the PC it was captured on but it looks like Friday The 13th: The Game would be next to unplayable based on that alone. I'm not saying that the whole should be lit up with everything being easily view-able but in some cases here it looks like you are just running completely blind and will never stand a chance at anything. Just odd; but then again it is pre-alpha footage of Friday The 13th: The Game so there is still time for the tweaking and all that jazz.
I would harsh on the character models as well given the amount of time Friday The 13th: The Game has technically been in development here, given the original game it was being designed to be, but seeing as they just received the blessing to use the iconic characters and such I am guessing there is going to be some transition time. I just hope that the "trip" that leads to the untimely death here was a feature in Friday The 13th: The Game and not a glitch as it would fit in completely with the franchise's history. I guess we'll all have to wait and see though.
What do you think about what you saw for Friday The 13th: The Game? Does it look like it will be money well spent for all of those backers or do you too find it odd that about a year's work has led to this? How about the lighting here? Let us know and discuss away in the comments below. As Friday The 13th: The Game has been funded I am sure we will get more updates from Gun Media as they press on into the development cycle so be sure to keep it locked in here for all of those updates and all things Friday The 13th.
