Review: God of War: Ghost of Sparta
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 28th of October 2010 - 09:05 PM ]
Kratos is back yet again to take on the gods for the torment they have put him through. Well kind of. Kratos is back to show the world why he was so pissed at the beginning of God of War 2 - not to mention that finally one of the original storylines for the franchise is brought into the mix. In fact, it is the pivotal point for the whole story this time. The focus revolving around Kratos having a brother that was taken to the Underworld. Read More...

Review: Rock Band 3 [Gamer Version]
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 26th of October 2010 - 08:53 PM ]
So here we go again. Another rhythm game comes to the market, only this time it is one that is truly trying to innovate the genre. I am talking in more ways than just trying to add new ways to play songs in the way of four guitars or adding challenges to earn more points and "stars." Though we already knew that Rock Band 3 was adding in a new instrument and a "Learn To Play Real Instruments" mode, it's how they went about it that changes the genre. This of course makes Rock Band 3 more than just another game. Being that there is so much going on with Rock Band 3, I've decided to break it up into two reviews. Read More...

Review: TerRover
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 21st of October 2010 - 11:06 PM ]
Creat Studios generated a lot of buzz when it showed its downloadable title, TerRover, at E3 this summer. Then when the demo was dropped exclusively for PlayStation Plus members, excitement for the game was off the charts. Sensitive controls and dynamic game play showed the promise of a precision platformer – something the hardcore gaming community can always get behind. TerRover embraces and champions the game design concept of Trial by Death. Trial by Death is the process by which the player acquires knowledge of the game and its systems of control by forging forward without the necessary information to succeed, relying on continuous failure to derive the correct solution. Valve Announces DotA 2
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 14th of October 2010 - 06:37 PM ]
Valve announced today that its latest title to be released in 2011 is DotA 2. Players have been waiting a while for this announcement considering Valve went on a Trademark spree and filed for the DotA and Defense of the Ancients name back in August of this year. According to the short and sweet press release: "Coming to the PC&Mac in 2011, DotA 2 promises to take the unique blend of online RTS and RPG action that has made DotA popular with tens of millions of gamers and expand upon it in every way." For those that don't know the name DotA comes from the Warcraft III mod Defense of the Ancients. Defense of the Ancients at its core is a small tactical, hero based strategy game which completely revamped the Warcraft III game and design by bringing a real RPG aspect to an RTS world. Review: Dead Rising 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 11th of October 2010 - 09:05 PM ]
The zombie outbreak has now overtaken a good portion of the world now. Cites have been destroyed, human life is now precious even more so now yet everyone with a pulse has seemed to come to terms with zompoclypse. In fact, they have come to such great terms that game shows have popped up surrounding the total destruction of all of the infected. The most popular being Terror Is Reality, which has taken up shop in the new city of Fortune City just miles outside of a destroyed Las Vegas, NV. Speaking of Las Vegas, remember the Case Zero Review? Read More...

We Found The Best Zombie Plan
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 6th of October 2010 - 10:38 PM ]
We asked for your plans and we got a lot of submissions. Looks like all we have to do is place Contest, Prize and Zombies into an article and we get all you readers' creative juices flowing. Maybe it was just the first two, but I like to think positive when it comes to the seriousness of having a good zombie plan. In the end, the most creative and interesting was written by error_code (Rhai). I mean it was not only a "How To Survive The Initial Onslaught" type plan, but it also included the long term plan as well; including a "doomsday switch" in case the zombies somehow overrun the base of operations. Fable III Is Star Studded
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 29th of September 2010 - 08:33 PM ]
Fable III is drawing near, and recently we got a video diary which highlighted one of the most important pieces of the game, the cast. With a little bit of background from the characters as told by their voice over counterparts, this video gives us more of a deeper view into the world of Albion. Check out the video after the jump. With such amazing talent like Michael Fassbender, Stephen Fry, Simon Pegg, Sir Ben Kingsley, John Cleese, Zoë Wanamaker, Bernard Hill and Nicholas Hoult, players can expect hilarity and some fantastic voice over work. You can tell a lot about a video game, especially by its cast. Read More...

Mini Review: Dead Rising 2: Case Zero
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 27th of September 2010 - 09:02 PM ]
On a leisurely escape from zombie-infested Las Vegas, Chuck and Katey Greene stop in the quiet town of Still Creek, just 46 miles outside of the metropolis. Katey is infected, but the constant supply of Zombrex is keeping that at bay. That is, until their car is stolen while stopping for a quick gas break. What kind of misadventures could that lead to? Not a bad set up for the prologue to Dead Rising 2, huh? Read More...

Review: Eagle Eye Converter
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 23rd of September 2010 - 05:06 PM ]
There are a lot of FPS players out there who whole heartedly believe that the only way to play them is the way they were originally designed; with a keyboard and mouse. If you are not one of these people, I am sure that you know at least one. Pretty much all the FPS players I know are purist when it comes to controlling their shooters. But what about those shooters that come out exclusively for consoles? Or those players who do not have a PC capable of some of the higher end FPSs but have a console that can? Read More...
