My Rock Band Recommendations
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 14th of February 2012 - 10:39 PM ]
If you guys don't already know I am an avid Rock Band player. I started playing rhythm games when the first Guitar Hero came out, and I've been playing ever since. Over the years I have sunk a lot of money into the DLC, at the moment I have two-hundred and thirteen downloaded songs and I wish to share my favorites with you guys. Hopefully I can persuade you into buying a song or two. Since I only play guitar on Rock Band, I can only vouch for guitar (sorry drummers, vocalists, bassists and keyboardist) I'll categorize my favorite by difficulty for guitar. Read More…

Here's A Bit Of The Story Of The Last Of Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of February 2012 - 10:22 PM ]
So when The Last Of Us was first announced I had my reservations on the game. After hearing a bit more on the story of the game, characters and world they are still there. Albeit this all stems from the little tid-bits that were recently explained to Game Informer. You can see the dev interview below to get caught up to where I am in knowledge of the game. So plain and simple sounds more like a ridiculous "escort mission" style of story. While Joel does seem to have an interesting background, the overall theme here is keep Ellie alive and to some unknown location. Read More…

We Are Already Getting Schooled In Twisted Metal
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of February 2012 - 06:38 PM ]
For those of you lucky enough to be able to get into the Twisted Metal demo and go into multiplayer you've probably seen a few people in there who are just trouncing everyone. Do you wonder how they are doing it besides making the assumption that they are testers? Or do you just want to know the ins and outs of the game before it launches on Tuesday? Well let's go to the Twisted Metal University and learn these tricks of the trade. Below you will see the first two, of what I am assuming to be a few more, videos that showcase some of the controls and tactics of the vehicles in the game. Read More…

LittleBigPlanet Karting Confirmed By Sony
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 11th of February 2012 - 07:17 PM ]
So correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Sony already had a title that was pretty much LittleBigPlanet Karting. Or at least what one can assume that LBPK will be all about. You know a little game called ModNation Racers. A racing game that also focuses on the ability to Play, Create and Share. So what is up with this new announcement? I will say that it may be a little premature to judge LittleBigPlanet Karting as being pretty much the same thing since there has yet to be anything other than the announcement as of yet. I mean, it could be something completely different and is just in a similar genre. Read More…

I Love The Concept Of Video Games Live
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 10th of February 2012 - 10:00 PM ]
In my travels through the often harsh lands of television, I have come across what might be one of the most amazing things I have ever laid my eyes on: A symphony covering video game themes. If you guys don't already know "Video Games Live" is one part rock concert, one part festival, one part classical symphony concert and all parts amazing. Video Games Live is the brainchild of the legendary video game composers Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall, featuring an immersive event with music from your favorite video games performed by top orchestras and choirs. Along with video footage and music arrangements, epic light shows, solo performances and unique interactive segments. Read More…

Shoot Live Ammo At A Twisted Metal Vehicle. I'm In!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 9th of February 2012 - 10:05 PM ]
So it's funny to think about, but what happened to the Sweet Tooth truck that was used to announce and further promote Twisted Metal on the PS3? Or more or less what will happen once the PR Tour is over. Will it sit in a warehouse somewhere next to the Ark of the Covenant and Crystal Skulls? Well here is the answer to that. It looks like what will happen is that we will get to shoot it to all hells with live ammo. Yes I said we as in us the fans and gamers. Read More…

Here's Why You Should Get The Darkness II
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 9th of February 2012 - 05:52 PM ]
With the recent release of The Darkness II, I feel obligated to convince you guys to give this game a shot. I recently had a conference Q&A with the developers of The Darkness II. It was a fun and exciting new experience for me to sit down and listen to what challenges they faced while making the game and what are their personal favorites about the game. The Darkness II takes place two years after the first game, Jackie has gone from a mob hit man to the don of the family. Jackie has had the Darkness subdued for a couple years until he is attacked by an organization called "The Brotherhood" who know all of the Darkness' strengths and its weakness. Read More…

by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 8th of February 2012 - 10:53 PM ]
This episode of the Aggrocast tries out a new feature/format called Convince Me. Brian is joined by David and Matt who have the unfortunate task to attempt to convince Brian that he wants to play The Darkness II and Twisted Metal. The discussions heat up on these soon-to-be-released games. Will I be convinced? Listen and find out. Not everything is serious business. Read More…

The Tester Season 3: Episode 1 - Lessons Attention Whoring
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of February 2012 - 06:58 PM ]
So here we go with Season 3 of PlayStation's The Tester. The first episode just hit the web and through every other medium that Sony wants us to watch it through. As promised in every other article about this show, I will give you my personal overview of the episode and things to look at for yourself. Hells, maybe even a reason on why not to watch at all or the converse. In any instance, let's move on before the title alone clouds your judgment. Read More…

Reported Layoffs, Jaffe To Leave Twisted Metal Team
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 7th of February 2012 - 07:05 PM ]
Eat Sleep Play - the company behind the latest Twisted Metal title - has recently reported laying off eight of its employees. David Jaffe (co-owner of ESP, and creator of God of War/Twisted Metal franchises) has also announced that he will be leaving Eat Sleep Play and opening a new studio in the San Diego area. It's kind of a big deal considering the latest installment of Twisted Metal launches next week. Eat Sleep Play will now transition into the Mobile/iOS Gaming market. Read More…

Darksiders The Novel Coming To A Store Near You
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of February 2012 - 11:54 PM ]
Here's some interesting news for the gaming world here. It looks like there is a novel being written for the Darksiders franchise. The interesting part is that it doesn't seem to be linked to the story of the current games, which is Darksiders and Darksiders II, outside of the characters. Well at least not directly linked as the story will be taking place a millennia before the events of the first game. Here's the basic break down that we have at this time. In DARKSIDERS: THE ABOMINATION VAULT, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse (beings charged with maintaining the Balance between the forces of Heaven and Hell) have uncovered a plot to resurrect ancient weapons of unimaginable power. Aggrocast Episode Ninety Two: Coming Soon Q1
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 1st of February 2012 - 04:54 PM ]
Episode 92 of the Aggrocast takes a different route as Corey and Brian are left to their own devices, which means the episode goes off the rails in the first couple minutes. All kidding aside, the guys go into what they've been playing including Puzzle Quest 2, Tiny Tower, Final Fantasy XIII, and Dungeon Defenders. There is no Care / Don't Care this week, but we still drop a Community Spotlight on Pwned Game Nights. The main topic for the episode revolves around Brian and Corey breaking down the major release schedule for the rest of the first quarter of 2012. Read More…

The Blue Mountains Of The Secret World
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 30th of January 2012 - 10:45 PM ]
With trailers like the one below for The Secret World it makes it harder to remember that this is a new MMO and not a new Survival Horror game. Here we are getting a look at an area of the game called Blue Mountain and it feels just like another Silent Hill. Creepy mountains, mines, a slew of twisted creatures roaming the streets and crazy history dating back longer than anyone would care to remember. Sounds close, but obviously it is its own "place" within The Secret World. Back to the original point I stated though, after you watch this trailer try and honestly say that you didn't mistake it for something other than an MMO. Read More…

Review: AMY
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 27th of January 2012 - 08:13 PM ]
It's January so it is about time for a new survival horror title to come out, am I right? Well here is AMY from VectorCell - a new survival horror downloadable title for us to start the new year with a scare. Question is: will it scare the digital funds out of your wallet or just make you fearful that you will be out a few bucks for something that falls flat? Well let me give you my break down of the game. The Story In typical survival horror style, the tale revolves around two characters who must survive what looks like the zompocalypse. Read More…
