The Walking Dead
New update for The Walking Dead: Michonne lets us know that it will no longer just be a The Walking Dead spin-off but its own stand-alone title
Looks like The Walking Dead: Michonne is going to be a bit different than what we all expect as it has been confirmed that it will now be its own stand-alone title. This news of course comes from Telltale Games' Head of Creative Communications, Job J Stauffer, along with the news that we will get our first look at The Walking Dead: Michonne during The Game Awards. Not only that but is also looks like it will not be releasing this month but if it has become its own beast then the extra time is completely welcomed. No need to have something crappy put out to sully the franchise.
Again this is all we have in terms of an update but in only a few hours of this writing we will be seeing more of The Walking Dead: Michonne. It is a nice filler for The Walking Dead dead comic as it shows what the character went through during the downtime where we didn't see her. I know I am a bit curious to see how she became Captain Michonne in the comic books and hopefully The Walking Dead: Michonne makes some great sense for us huge fans of the franchise. Telltale Games does have the great storytelling track record so I have more than a little faith in them here.
Confirmed: You *will* get your 1st look at TWD:Michonne @thegameawards. It won't premiere this month, but will now be a stand-alone series.

Now that we have this all I can think is that The Walking Dead: Michonne may be another ongoing franchise as there is technically a lot of time they could cover. Then again I am a bit more hopeful that it really sticks to just the basic five episode style we are used to and not have to worry about the character's story getting overly contrite even for The Walking Dead. I guess we'll find out tonight when The Game Awards gives us our first taste.
How do you feel about The Walking Dead: Michonne becoming its own stand-alone game and not just a spin off? Do you think this will lend to a better and bigger story or do you think it will have more filler than most of the fans will want to deal with? What do you think will happen to the character in The Walking Dead: Michonne here? Let us know and discuss in the comments below. As we get further information about The Walking Dead from Telltale Games we will have it here for you so be sure to keep check back for all of the details you may want for The Walking Dead: Michonne.
