This Week In Video Games 7/30/25 — 8/1/25
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 1st of August 2025 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week So, it was a shorter week for us, given that we just made it all back from SDCC. That did not mean we did not have a whole lot to share out there for the week in video games and all of the other aspects, just that we had such little time. Especially as we are getting everything from Peacefest and Peacemaker out there from SDCC 2025, as well as our fun from the Clown In A Cornfield Experience we had to do. That was not even the video games that were offered out there with Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival having the announcement and Toxic Crusaders finally getting a release date. Read More...

With welcome deck giveaways as well as comic books and a Daily Bugle newspaper styled playmat, those in attendance had an inside look at the next set for Magic: The Gathering (MtG) for 2025. This isn’t the first foray into Marvel comics for MtG. Read More...

Magic: The Gathering And How I Got Pulled Back In
by Raymond Bruels [ Monday, 21st of July 2025 - 05:00 PM ]
Magic Let's take a trip to MagicCon 2025 and how it pulled me right back into the fun of Magic: The Gathering Magic: The Gathering, that seminal work by Dr. Richard Garfield had a major impact on my life. A high school buddy introduced me to the game around Unlimited Edition, and we would regularly trade Arabian Nights and Antiquities cards. I loved Legends and The Dark, but around Fallen Empires, I started to get disillusioned. I had gotten into Type 2 tournaments, introduced numerous friends to the game, and watched as stores around Warrensburg; Missouri began running tournaments. Read More...

The latest update has hit the game, and Red Barrels is keeping all of the horror rolling on out there for us. With all of the nightmares we have seen before now and a few extra things that we might not have known before in the world of Outlast. It is a terrifying place, and there are so many things we should be afraid of. Do not let any of that dissuade you from grabbing the DLC on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, though. Disney Entertainment Television Is Bringing So Many Fun Things To SDCC 2025
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 9th of July 2025 - 09:00 PM ]
Disney All of the Disney IPs are on the way for us at SDCC 2025 with many events, experiences, and panels from Disney Entertainment Television With all of the weird mergers going on out there, it is nice to see that Disney is still going to bring so many of their IPs back to SDCC this year. Some of them, we all might not even know that were part of the new-ish umbrella, but will have a massive presence out there. Some of them will just be basic photo-ops, others will be panels, and others will have some extra events and parties going down for them. Even if a lot of them might not be the main IPs one would think of, but all under the Disney Entertainment Television banner. Read More...

The Lodge Paramount+ is bringing The Lodge back to SDCC in 2025, and here is a look at all the fun The Lodge will open up for us For the fourth year running, Paramount+’s The Lodge is on the way back to SDCC 2025. A solid little showcase and bit of fun for fans of the various shows that Paramount+ has running or will be launching soon. Given how it has been in the past, this is going to be one of the fun events going on during the convention that will have many lining up again. Especially as The Lodge is something happening during SDCC that will not require a badge to go to. Read More...

Project Diarchy Makes Us Ready For Anything But Choice In The Outlast Trials
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 8th of July 2025 - 05:00 PM ]
Outlast New assets and Outlast reagents are coming to end us in the next update for The Outlast Trials More of the horrors are coming out there with the next big update for The Outlast Trials. Not just an update that Red Barrels is giving to us for the story, as dark as it has been getting, but a new update that finally gives us a new Prime Asset into the world. Technically, it is two Prime Assets we are getting, but all in one body. An interesting concept and something that is fitting for the Outlast universe, while also making things harder in the game. The House Of The Dead 2: Remake Is Taking Aim With A New Release Date
by Juliet Meyer [ Monday, 7th of July 2025 - 05:00 PM ]
House Of The Dead Enter The House Of The Dead again with a partial release date for The House Of The Dead 2: Remake on a few platforms Let us all get shambling, as we have a new day to look at for The House Of The Dead 2: Remake to rise up and try to eat more of our brains. A little bit of a split release date, though I am sure that Megapixel Studio and Forever Entertainment have the right things in mind for it all. I say this, as it seems like the undead will only be roaming for us on the Switch and PC this coming August 7th. The House Of The Dead 2: Remake is still listed as coming to the PS5, and Xbox Series X|S too, but it seems that will come at a different time when it does. Read More...

Review — The Alters
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 3rd of July 2025 - 09:00 PM ]
Alters We sit down and review The Alters. A survival game that questions how a single choice can change a person. Here is our review of half of The Alters It is time to play all by myselves here with the launch of The Alters out there on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A new survival game that 11 Bit Studios has been working on for a while, and after much of a wait, was able to deliver. One that will take us to a terrible planet with all manner of harsh things to deal with. Not only that, but The Alters is also setting us up to ask some deeper questions along the way about how our lives could be completely altered by making one little choice. Read More...

We Will Need What We Fear In The Story Of The Blood Of Dawnwalker
by Juliet Meyer [ Thursday, 3rd of July 2025 - 07:00 PM ]
Dawnwalker The Dawnwalker’s story is coming into the light as we see just how the vampires have taken over in The Blood Of Dawnwalker The story is starting to flow out there for The Blood Of Dawnwalker, and we have a bit more to drink in as we get ready to head into the night. Even if it might be easier for us to walk into the day with all of this and help humanity more in the world, that Rebel Wolves is crafting here. We are both sides of the coin as a Dawnwalker, but it does seem like we have some bad blood with the vampires in the world. That is where the latest video we have for the game is going to kick in, with it showing where all of these issues sprang up from. Read More...

Head Back In Time To See If You Can Survive The Night Of The Extinct
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of July 2025 - 07:00 PM ]
Night Of The Extinct A new horror title, Night Of The Extinct, is on the way to us all with Night Of The Extinct giving a new twist on overnight survival Something new is on the prowl out there for the PC gamers, with the announcement for Night Of The Extinct. Sadly, this is not a release date or anything as the intro made it sound, but more of the reveal of what Silvercity Sharks are going to be bringing out to us all here. Something that feels like a mascot horror title, only with Night Of The Extinct taking the twist a different way for us all to experience. Something closer to Night In The Museum than anything, as it is not some weird animatronic or other horror trope that will be stalking us in the mix. Read More...

The Cabin The Cabin is getting a flat-screen version of the game to enjoy for those without VR and wanting to play Drop Dead: The Cabin With VR still a bit of a barrier to entrance for some video games, it is no shock that many did not get a chance to experience what Drop Dead: The Cabin had to offer when it hit the Meta Quest. A good number of players had their shot and enjoyed it, though, which is why we are here with the announcement that Soul Assembly is bringing the game back to PC with a flat-screen edition of the game. All so even more gamers will have their shot at the survival co-op shooter and see what true horror is waiting within The Cabin. Read More...
