My Top 20 Favorite Video Game Tracks Of All Time
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 25th of June 2012 - 06:53 PM ]
Since we do a lot of standard news and reviews on Aggrogamer I think it's time we get a little personal. I am a huge fan of music. I love listening to it and I most certainly enjoy creating it. So here are my top 20 all time favorite themes from a video game. Enjoy. Note: the first 15 are in no specific order but the top 5 are in order of epicness. Spider-Man&Venom: Maximum Carnage - "Carnage Rules" An epic opening to one of the best Spider Man games of all time Serious Sam: The First Encounter - "Fight 5" When this song pops during an epic fire fight in Serious Sam, your adrenaline surges through your veins as you enter "The Zone" Mirror's Edge - "Kate (Puzzle)" I loved Mirror's Edge and this song was so soothing and relaxing. I still listen to it a lot. Read More...

Honestly, Skyrim has only been out since Last November (2011) and we are seven months from its release and already we are waiting for a full expansion pack called Dawnguard. Prepare yourself Dovakhiin; there are vampires in the woods.Seriously, check out the video below. There are people that haven't even beaten the game yet (*cough* Quiglin *cough*) that adding this type of expansion pack is huge for. Read More...

Aggrogamer.com brings you the Skycast - a podcast involving all things Skyrim. Corey and Brian discuss levels 12 through 25 of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Aggrocast Episode Ninety: Skyrim, Sequels And Series
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 28th of November 2011 - 10:14 PM ]
Matt joins Brian and Corey again for Aggrocast hijinks, including being completely disconnected from the call. The format jumps around as Brian and Corey wax poetic on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as they wait for Matt to return and they generally talk about what they've been playing including Batman: Arkham Asylum, WoW, Braid and Fusion: Sentient. We may have bounced around a bit, but your favorite features are still there. Care / Don't Care has the guys hitting up another eight topics and Community Spotlight shines on the Ghoul Girls. The World Of Skyrim - Reaching New Heights
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 9th of November 2011 - 10:47 PM ]
The latest developer's diary is up at the Elder Scrolls Community page, and this time we are taken into the world of Cyrodiil and we see this world brought to life. Full of character and lush landscapes, this massive world is a time sync TES fans know and love. If you haven't checked it out yet I also recommend for the more technical reader to check out the brief history of Cyrodiil. This way you can see how a game world takes shape from a more technical aspect. It's amazing the detail that this team has brought into the world. Read More...

The Sound Of Skyrim - Making A Dragon Sandwich
by Corey Dockendorf [ Monday, 7th of November 2011 - 10:01 PM ]
There are a ton of factors that go into making a game: graphics, UI, scripting, but one feature that really stands out and can make or break a game is the sound. Bethesda has released their latest podcast featuring Mark Lampert - Bethesda game studios Audio Director - giving a full look at what went into making the music and sounds of Skyrim. I've always found voice acting and soundtracks to video games such an interesting element, so it's always fascinating to see how much goes into it from the other side of the screen. Check out the video below. Read More...

The Elders Scrolls V: Skyrim is just around the corner and the Bethesda artists have taken to the web and are giving us a look at what goes into (conceptually) creating the world of Skyrim. Also a podcast with some excellent commentary, Completely Blue Sky: The Art Of Skyrim is a must listen for any Elder Scrolls fan. Trailer Park (10/24/11)
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 24th of October 2011 - 11:09 PM ]
Blizzard has released a new cinematic trailer for Diablo III featuring some very scary atmosphere and demons. The new trailer also shows off some of the story we can expect in Diablo III, such as Asmodon trying to acquire the Black Soulstone to rule as the true prime evil. If my memory serves me correct there are seven prime evils and in Diablo II we killed three of them: Mephisto, Diablo and Baal. The trailer also shows us a new character, who I believe is Deckard Cain's niece, whose name I do not know at this point. But enough of my rambling, enjoy the trailer. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of February 2011 - 07:56 PM ]
By Matt Waitt You might want to put on a clean pair of underwear after watching the newly released game play trailer for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Oozing with intensity, the trailer showcases epic fights against dragons, immense/diverse scenery and a score that is sure to make your heart flat-line. Developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks Elder Scrolls V takes place two hundred years after Oblivion in the land of Skyrim. Troubled by the assassination of their king, Skyrim breaks out into civil war distracting them from the newly risen god of destruction; Alduin. After watching the new trailer I realize my jaw has dropped to the floor. Read More...
