"SACK IT TO ME"...Weekly Answers to the LBP Community's Questions As has been the buzz around the net and the PS Forum boards, moderation on user created levels has been out of control on the LBP servers. Like crazy to the point where some levels that have no offensive materials or copy written materials have been removed. With no explanation as well. To me this is really hampering one of the best features of this game. Read More...

[360 Review] Need for Speed Undercover
by [ Tuesday, 2nd of December 2008 - 06:25 AM ]
Racing titles are ever-evolving. With the intoduction of the open world to the genre, it has seemed that subsequent titles especially after Burnout Paradise have followed suit. While Burnout Paradise was a glowing example of the open world mechanic done right, many of the games it has inspired have been less-than-stellar entries to their respective franchises. The latest evidence of this is Need for Speed Underground. While it aspires to be a “thrilling”, open exercise in evading the cops and rising above the ranks, it falls short in a number of ways, making the other racing contenders available right now the better choice, most definitely. Rare Japanese Famicom (NES) Cart Sells For Over $4,000
by Michael Camacho [ Monday, 1st of December 2008 - 09:09 PM ]
Over in Japan, a super rare Famicom (NES) title has sold at auction for over ¥401,010, which converts to roughly $4,250. The title of said game is Kikenbutsu no Yasashii Butsuri to Kagaku, or “The Tender Physics & Science of Explosive Materials”. While it sounds like it could possibly be of eroge nature, it sadly is not. It was used in training for employees of Idemitsu Kosan Ltd.and developed by well known publisher Konami. Read More...

[NDS Review] From The Abyss
by Michael Camacho [ Saturday, 29th of November 2008 - 08:03 AM ]
Dungeon Crawler Hack & Slash RPG games are starting to become a regular genre on the Nintendo DS, so does Aksys Games' set itself apart with From The Abyss? Unfortunately the game doesn't do much to stand out amongst its peers, but it is still a fun time for J-RPG fans. From The Abyss takes place in Rubenhaut where the kingdom has been overrun by monsters flowing through the Abyss Gate. You choose your hero from four possible choices, two male and two female, and then answer a short series of questions to give your character a sense of background. You arrive in Rubenhaut and meet with the queen, whom enlists your help to rid the land of monsters, and thus your journey to free the kingdom begins. Read More...

Japan Gets a Resident Evil 5 Co-Op Demo Next Week *Sadly Updated*
by Sam [ Wednesday, 26th of November 2008 - 05:03 PM ]
Japanese gaming mag Famitsu revealed that 360 owners will be getting a co-op demo of RE5 next week Friday, December 5th. The demo will have two stages to play through, most likely the ones we've been seeing in the trailers. You don't have to play co-op if you don't want to, there's also a single player option. The article also states that the Japan version of RE5 is being pushed back a week from March 5th to March 12th. For us in the US, it's still on schedule for Friday the 13th. Read More...

[PS3 Review] Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of November 2008 - 07:13 PM ]
The Worlds Collide This game has been a huge one on a lot of people's radars since it was first announced. It has been looked to as a way to reinvigorate the franchise into what it once was. Trying to help fans forget the films and lack luster games that have been placed out there on the market. Here's what I have to say. The Premise: At the end of a great battle against Darkseid and Shao Kahn, each in their own universes, something goes awry and begins the merging of the two universes. Through confusion or just trying to find answers to end this universe ending event, both sides fight through to find a way to end it. Read More...

Review — Quantum Of Solace
by [ Monday, 24th of November 2008 - 03:40 AM ]
Quantum Of Solace The latest James Bond adventure is actually fun As evidenced in previous James Bond video games, it’s a pure rush of adrenaline to step into the shoes of the debonair agent. From GoldenEye to Everything or Nothing, the Bond games have usually been faithful recreations of the films or entirely new adventures to embark on. With Quantum Of Solace, the newest addition to the Bond game library, the total immersion of being Bond is alive and well. With much owed to the Call Of Duty 4 engine, this is a fast-paced, fun FPS with elements of third-person shooters. Read More...

Challenging BioShock
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of November 2008 - 10:10 PM ]
BioShock PS3 DLC Surfaces Tomorrow So tomorrow, November 20th, those of us that have picked up the PS3 version of BioShock are getting a nice little treat. Exclusive added content for the game on the PSN. The add on is listed below. But there is one thing I find a little off, at least for me, the price point for PS3 users to get this new content. While PS3 BioShock owners will get access to the stuff that was given away to PC and XBox players, these 3 new challenge rooms come for a $10 fee. Might not sound too high, but it is only three new little sections for the game. Read More...

Another one bites the dust
by Stephanie Naboshek [ Wednesday, 19th of November 2008 - 08:27 PM ]
Yesterday the Championship Gaming Series announced that it will no longer be in business. The league who was owned by BSkyB, STAR and DIRECTV has been a major part of e-sports in the last few years and it's a shame to see another one go. Professional Gaming has been a big part of the industry since the 90's and over the last few years has escalated into huge international events. Sadly, this is not the first league to call it quits. Many similar leagues have also shared similar fates in the last few years. Read More...

Try Out LocoRoco 2?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of November 2008 - 10:20 PM ]
LocoRoco 2 In Flash If you have a PSP and have not tried the first one, I totally recommend it. It is addictive and so fun that you find yourself twisting your body to try and make some of the jumps and turns in the game. But this isn't why I bring this up. So what am I blathering about? Well it looks like you will be getting an early look at the new version of the game. Well somewhat. It is a flash demo of some of the things that you can look forward to when the game finally comes out or they release the PSP demo of the game. Read More...

First Impressions of the New Xbox Experience
by Michael Camacho [ Sunday, 16th of November 2008 - 10:36 PM ]
New Xbox Experience, this has been the discussion amongst many Xbox Live gamers as of late. Many are anxiously anticipating its release, while others are worried this will take away from what Xbox Live has always been. As someone who has been using Xbox Live since 2003, I had mixed reactions to the upcoming NXE update. After receiving an invite from Microsoft to try it out five days prior to the official release, I can say all worries have been squashed. The initial update and install of NXE is quick and seamless, and I faced no problems at all. Read More...
