It's been a little quiet on The Secret World front for a while. I think we are due some new info or visuals. Don't you? Funcom did recently have a showcasing of the character creation system and a bit of actual game play, but it was for press only. Most of you out there probably didn't get a chance to check it out, I know I didn't. That is until now. The Blue Mountains Of The Secret World

With trailers like the one below for The Secret World it makes it harder to remember that this is a new MMO and not a new Survival Horror game. Here we are getting a look at an area of the game called Blue Mountain and it feels just like another Silent Hill. Creepy mountains, mines, a slew of twisted creatures roaming the streets and crazy history dating back longer than anyone would care to remember. Sounds close, but obviously it is its own "place" within The Secret World. The World Of Darkness MMO Not Completely Dead

First off, please pardon the pun. It was unexpected. But in all reality, it looks like the World Of Darkness MMO is not as dead in the water as CCP might have led everyone to believe. Myself included since I play the pen and paper version with some of the people who use to be part of the original team. In a recent interview on GamerLive.TV with Chris McDonough (Senior Producer) talked about a few of the inspirations for the game as well as some of the people brought in to help finish the project even though it is low priority to CCP at the moment. It's Illuminati Week For The Secret World

It's Templar Week In The Secret World

So being a regular player of World Of Warcraft, I thought it would be good to give you guys some info on the new dungeons and raids coming in patch 4.3: Dragon Soul. Now I do have mixed feelings for WoW but the lore is what keeps me coming back for more, the stories told in Warcraft are vast, grand and epic rivaling and even surpassing the stories that started the fantasy genre. Star Trek Online Goes Free To Play

Cryptic Studios has just announced that it's highly acclaimed MMORPG Star Trek Online will be free-to-play before the end of this year. The game will also be downloadable and playable at no cost! "In addition to seeking out new life and exploring strange new civilizations, part of our continuing mission for Star Trek Online is to expand and improve," said Jack Emmert, CEO, Cryptic Studios. "Transitioning to a free-to-play model is a natural way to share all we've built with a broader community of players and we couldn't be more excited." So later this year we will see STO go free-to-play, with features that include customizing avatars, crews and ships just like normal and no limitations to the galaxy they wish to explore. WarCorner: Blizzard Announces Vanity Pet Murkablo

Blizzcon is less than two months away and Blizzard has just announced that players who attend Blizzcon '11 on October 21st and 22nd at the Anaheim convention or those that pay $40 for the Pay Per View virtual ticket, will get the highly anticipated vanity pet Murkablo. It's like having a little Diablo in your Warcraft. Although this is not the first Diablo vanity pet found in World of Warcraft, as Mini-Tyrael was the pet given out at Blizzard's Worldwide Invitational back in 2008, it's still very exciting. We saw some brief video of this little fire breather back in June when a few data mining sites pulled him from the "depths of hell" and gave us a short preview. Read More...

Trion Announces End Of Nations Will Be Free To Play

End Of Nations is Trion World's highly anticipated MMORTS which is still in the works, but that's not going to stop them from making some major announcements. Trion games announced yesterday that End Of Nations will now embrace the very popular free to play business model. Like all other Free to play titles, EoN will feature micro-transactions along with an optional "subscription" feature. Free players will have access to "the entire game" according to Trion, including its 50 person Multiplayer battles, full single player mode and player customization. WarCorner: Real ID Party Available For Testing

Blizzard a while back made mention that players would be able to group together (same faction) and be able to run through random dungeons together across servers. Crazy I know, but it is Blizzard. They have the technology and the man power to make such miracles happen. I got an e-mail today confirming just that. The Real ID Party system went into live testing today and players will be able to experience cross-realm game play with friends. How this works is players will be required to have the Real ID of their friends they want to play with and invite them into a group. Read More...

I Almost Forgot The Secret World Is A MMO...

If it wasn't for the fact that I get reminded it is a MMO in every press release, I would swear that The Secret World was not going to be one. With each new screen and video that is ever so slowly hitting the web or my inbox I get a sense of confusion at first. So far the game doesn't look like a standard MMO. But as we all know, looks can be very deceiving, which is the case again with the following images and videos.
