by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 9th of October 2009 - 10:33 PM ]
My face has just been melted! Next week marks the dawning of a new era in video gaming. Double Fine Studio’s has collaborated with Harmonix and MTV's Rock Band to release three new DLC tracks with the Brütal Legend theme, and they are hot like lightning! The tracks will include: Brütal Legend Pack Motorhead - "(We Are) The Road Crew '08" Tenacious D - "The Metal" Testament - "More Than Meets the Eye" Also being released October 13th Black Tide - "Show Me the Way" Blink-182 - "What's My Age Again?" Joe Satriani - "Satch Boogie" Joe Satriani - "Surfing with the Alien" Kansas - "Icarus (Borne on the Wings of Steel)" Kansas - "Point of Know Return" L7 - "Andres" Tim Schafer, who is as much a metal head as your friend in the “Lemmy is god” shirt, had this to say in the current press release: "These are three great songs that totally capture the feeling of Brütal Legend. I can't wait to play them in Rock Band," Tim Schafer said "I've air-drummed to all of them so many times, I'm sure I'll be able to beat them on hard mode, no problem. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of October 2009 - 08:33 PM ]
Ok, well not really. It just gets me all warm and fuzzy inside waiting for this game to actually come out. One way the Dante's Inferno Team is doing this is placing out high end developer's diaries. Nothing new as we have been posting them here for you to enjoy and take in. But, damn it, it just needed stating. This month is the month of Anger for the team and video. The below clip show cases a bit of the weapons, melee and magic, that Dante will use as he travels down through the circles of Hell. Read More...

Valve Gives Details On Left4Dead 2 Scavenge Mode
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 9th of October 2009 - 06:28 PM ]
Yesterday Valve announced a new mode for Left4Dead 2: Scavenge Mode. Scavenge Mode is a competitive mode where the Survivors must fill a generator with cans of fuel while a clock ticks away to the end of the round. Each can of fuel added is one point and added time to the clock, with only the Infected in your path. Much like Versus mode, the opposing team takes the roles of the special/boss Infected in order to stop the Survivors from scoring by any means necessary. When the clock runs out, switch sides and repeat; the highest scoring team wins. Read More...

10,000 Gallons Of Blood To Make Fairytale Fights
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of October 2009 - 04:38 PM ]
While they might have had a bit of backlash with a trophy/achievement for killing 1000 kids, and recently their porn star antics, you would think that Playlogic would have made their trophies/achievements to suit everyone's needs. Well a P.C. minded person might think that way at least. Why won't they think of the children? The answer to that, because this is not your kids fairytale. Proving it further with a bit of their trophies/achievements listed below. Read More...

Review: Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
by Ben Brody [ Friday, 9th of October 2009 - 02:47 PM ]
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (titled sequel to the original Operation Flashpoint from 2001, the developer, Bohemia Interactive, preferred ArmA to be the original's sequel. Dragon Rising was developed not by Bohemia Interactive, but in house by Codemasters) positions itself not so much as an action FPS but moreso as a realistic battle simulation. If you would rather have something that's more run-and-gun, one man army, headshots left and right, nade spamming, knife stabbing free for all than maybe you should stick to Battlefield: Bad Company or Call of Duty 4. But if you want something realistic that requires tact and deft to win, then OF:DR is your game. Read More...

Beastiary Legal In Final Fantasy XIV
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 8th of October 2009 - 10:16 PM ]
Ok pervert, I know what you thought when you first clicked in here. No, boning animals is not going to be in Final Fantasy XIV. It still got you to look in here to check out the shots of the creatures that you will be slaying in the game. So technically you will be giving them the bone, but not in the legal issue way that you may have been thinking. So there. These shots do look like Square Enix is dead serious in giving what people have come to expect from them: a visually stunning game. Read More...

Nico + Ryu + The Force x Zombies = Platinum
by Kevin [ Thursday, 8th of October 2009 - 08:25 PM ]
That's a heck of a visual isn't it? GTA IV, Street Fighter IV, Star Wars: The Force Unleased, Left 4 Dead, and Saints Row 2 are the latest candidates for the Platinum Hits treatment. A nice line-up to be certain and a great opportunity to jump aboard and experience these titles if you haven't done so already. It seems like the titles were chosen pretty strategically because with several of the games you have either had a) new content announced and coming soon, b) new content released, or c) sequels approaching. In celebration of these latest additions to the Platinum Hits Collection line-up, some retailers are offering a “Buy 2 –Get 1 Free” promotion for XBox Platinum Hits Collection titles. Read More...

Review: Exo-Flex Skins
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 8th of October 2009 - 06:25 PM ]
We as gamers are always looking for a way to stand out and be original so we can be identified in our virtual space. Also most of the time in our real world presence as well. Be it clothing, cosmetics, or skinning and modding our PCs, consoles, and the controllers that go along with them. Sometimes as basic as a few stickers and others as extreme as a full metal shop built Alien case for a PC. But sometimes we gamers either lack the tools or capabilities to build something that expresses our inner selves on our gaming gear. That's where companies like Exo-Flex and their artist step in and offer up full case stickers and decals for us to slap on and be original. Read More...

Last But Not Least, PSN Content Now On Amazon.com
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 7th of October 2009 - 10:01 PM ]
Nintendo did it, Microsoft did it, now Sony has joined the ranks of content distributors via Amazon.com. Yes that's right, now you can head online to your friendly neighborhood Amazon.com and download anything from Sackboy costumes to full blown PSPGo Games. No longer will you suffer the oppression of sales tax, some locations not so lucky. I'm looking at you New York. I have just recently become addicted to the powers of the seductive Amazon, and have currently bought a metric-fuck-ton of books/equipment/bowling shoes, but now it looks like PSN titles and PSPGo titles will be added to my list. LOTRO Expansion To Change Mount System, Making A Difference
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 7th of October 2009 - 07:53 PM ]
With the new Lord of the Rings Online expansion, Siege of Mirkwood, set to release in less than two months, more information about some of the the enhancements have trickled out in the form of developer diaries. In one of the recent developer diaries, the LOTRO team discussed the revamped mount system set to release in this next expansion. This is especially significant because this feature has always been a bit of a dark smudge on the gameplay. To me, the mount system in LOTRO has always felt a bit tacked on. Read More...

Call of Duty Movie Gets Trademarked
by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 7th of October 2009 - 11:26 AM ]
A Call of Duty movie?!? There's a laundry list of great games turned into horrible movies (many of them belonging to Uwe Boll) and it looks like Call of Duty may be added to that list. While it may not be for certain, a trademark filing followed by a mysterious tweet certainly make it look like it could be “in the works” at the minimum. Activision is known for trademarking far more things than necessary, however it would make sense with all the other video game movies that have been announced. The tweet is here: http://twitter. Rock Band Is Changing Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of October 2009 - 03:42 PM ]
You can all stop begging Harmonix to get your music on their insanely popular game now. In fact now you need to start bugging the artists and record label to get off their asses. Or even that awesome garage band next store. Just gone live today are the documentation and tools needed to use Harmonix's Rock Band Network. Well the plugins to allow for you to create the music and upload to the XBox Live, as that is the platform for the current release. This is going to change the game in a drastic way I think. Hazardous to Your Health
by Kevin [ Monday, 5th of October 2009 - 09:53 PM ]
So the General has summoned his old adversaries and Matt has to spring back into action. Now, here's what I'm thinking, because the game has been touted as being so closely in resemblance to Shadow Complex, that the parodies seen in this will deal with the side scrolling shooters that we hold so dear. That is to say, there needs to be a Contra level, where one death should actually reset your system and then your console of choice should burst into unholy flame. I'm pretty sure that was everyone's Contra's experience, right? Read More...

Review: Dead Space Extraction
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of October 2009 - 07:42 PM ]
It all started just a little under a year ago. The exploration of terror in space in a nice little title called Dead Space. A game that I reviewed as my game of the year last year. A game that I deemed brought back those feelings of the first time you cracked open Resident Evil on the PlayStation. Just like RE you were left with loads of questions and left wanting more. Now along comes Dead Space: Extraction. Dead Space: Extraction lets players roll through all the events that lead up to Isaac and crew rolling through the USG Ishimura in fear of getting back off with their lives physically and mentally stable.
