by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 29th of June 2023 - 09:00 PM ]
Alan Wake Go behind the scenes with the Alan Wake team to see just how they got their dream of Alan Wake 2 up and going There has been some "unedited" gameplay out there and a lot of talk around Alan Wake 2, but we have not heard the full story on how it came into creation. Well, beyond the fact that Remedy Entertainment just wanted to continue the story they started a decade ago. That should be a given when it comes to video games. Though, now we have a new behind-the-scenes look at Alan Wake 2 and just how it is going to be coming into existence for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 17th now. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of June 2023 - 07:00 PM ]
Alan Wake Full gameplay for Alan Wake 2 has debuted and it gives us more of a look at another protagonist in Alan Wake 2 We had the tease before with some gameplay for Alan Wake 2 after the announcement, and it was there. It was short, but there. Most likely due to the fact that Remedy Entertainment was holding on to it all to show off at the Summer Game Fest bit we just recently had. This is where we all had the treat of seeing some "raw" and "unedited" gameplay footage for Alan Wake 2. Some gameplay footage that shows off a bit more of Saga Anderson in the game with how she will be building it up when it launches on October 17th for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Read More...

Alan Wake Has Many New Updates Just In Time For The Anniversary
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of May 2022 - 05:00 PM ]
Alan Wake There are a few new updates for the Alan Wake Remaster and Alan Wake 2 just off the back of a small anniversary celebration It is hard to believe that the original Alan Wake dropped on us all twelve years ago and we are only now getting a sequel to it all. That is not the big news here, but something worth thinking about when you notice how hard making video games can be. Especially when they are also trying to remaster the original and also bring us a TV show based around Alan Wake. A TV show that looks like will happen with AMC picking up the rights to make it finally. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 12/13/21 — 12/17/21
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 18th of December 2021 - 12:00 AM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week Well, that was a week for video games here and we had to play a bit of catchup to things too with how many things were announced and shown. It is nice to have all of this at the end of the year with Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Horizon Forbidden West coming so quick at the start of 2022 and the hype needed. Even with other video games like Saints Row and Star Wars Eclipse coming much later than all of that. We still have more to go to get us all up to date and ready for the next year to kick off. Alan Wake The announcement for Alan Wake 2 is finally here after so many years of thinking we would never see an Alan Wake sequel The time has finally come and we officially have Alan Wake 2 on the way to us all. It was a title that we never thought we would get a full sequel to given how Remedy Entertainment has gone with their other titles and how they keep slipping this IP into the mix. The Alan Wake 2 Game That May Never Be…Sadly
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 22nd of April 2015 - 07:00 PM ]
A new gameplay demo for Alan Wake 2 has made its way online to show us the Alan Wake 2 game we may never get It always sucks when a game like Alan Wake 2 will never see the light of day. Pun intended. What sucks more is when you get to see what the game could have been via gameplay demo and proof of concept work. That is what we have here to spread the hurt from Remedy moving on to do Quantum Break over Alan Wake 2 for their next huge title. The prior looks amazing and don't get me wrong, I still want it, but after seeing what the team was doing for Alan Wake 2 it is quite upsetting that we may have to be left waiting for a long time to see anything you are about to see hit our Xbox One or Xbox 360. CES 2012 Hands On: Alan Wake: American Nightmare
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of January 2012 - 10:41 PM ]
So I'd feel like I was not doing things right here if I didn't tell you that this is more of a hands on with Alan Wake: American Nightmare's new game mode, Fight 'til Dawn. There wasn't much to look at or play around with in the single player mode at CES outside of the few tidbits below. So there is that out there. Now let me get into what I did get to play around with. Plain and simple what I got to see was Alan Wake in a Survival Mode or Horde Mode, depending on how you want to look at it. Read More...

Comparing Silent Hill: Downpour To Alan Wake...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of April 2011 - 08:48 PM ]
So I was trolling around the net, as I am want to do, and I stumbled across some interesting discussions surrounding Silent Hill: Downpour. Primarily people talking about how the latest screen shots, seen below, are very reminiscent to some of the visuals in Alan Wake. So close to the point where I have seen a few people state that Konami is just ripping off from the game. There is also some people trying to defend the fact that because it looks close it doesn't mean it is a rip off. I would say they are interesting points except for the fact that Alan Wake was almost a blatant rip off of a franchise that was around for years prior. Read More...

Review: Alan Wake
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of May 2010 - 09:09 PM ]
If you follow me at all on here it should be no surprise that I have not seen much of a difference between Alan Wake and Silent Hill. At least that's my opinion from the viewpoint of the screen shots, trailers and the most recent live action Bright Falls series. I mean, they look so very similar. If you don't think so, then you should have your brain examined. Well, I was just recently able to give Alan Wake a good play through. A really good play through so I could contrast and compare between this new IP and the "older" Silent Hill IP. Read More...

Alan Wake Is Already A Hero In Bright Falls?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 29th of April 2010 - 02:08 PM ]
So, as promised, below are the first two episodes 0f the prequel to Alan Wake. Something I was hoping would clarify the differences between Alan Wake and Silent Hill for me. They look so damn close in style, world and gameplay for me, and I'm most likely forgetting others as well. So let's see what Remedy has in store for us to see the differences for the story. That has got to be where they differ, which would be perfect for me. Let's start by watching episode one of the prequel. Read More...
